Well we cannot change the username as and when as it will mess up the whole thing as it is part of the login system also. And many people know each other through their usernames only and that would lead to a lot of confusion.

However we have a Display Name field that we can use which can be updated as and when they want to and that can appear in the hover card also.

How it works in different social media platforms.

Sir, I accidentally trashed a topic in my private forum, while I was trying to delete/edit the comment. Can you help me restore it?

It is visible to me in "My posts" but shows access denied when I open it.

Could we have gender-neutral language in the notifications to avoid assumption, inadvertent misgendering and to be more inclusive?

Instead of saying ‘his’ or ‘her or even his/her (that limits to a gender binary) could we have the gender- neutral ‘they/their/them’?

Not sure of every situation where gender- based pronouns are used for notifications but one example is here:

"They/them/their" is plural and I don't use those pronouns for myself alone.

"Invited you to join a forum" would make sense grammatically.

I am repeating my requests from 6 months ago, now that the list has reached 713 pages and 32% of tags are not in use for any book.

Originally posted by: BrhannadaArmour

The list of fan fiction tags has 594 pages and can only be navigated using the Previous and Next buttons (or the URL page number), as there are no page number buttons.

I guess the purpose of having this list, sorted by popularity, is to help authors find tags that will connect our books to a large number of related books.

Could you please create the option to sort the list alphabetically?

Could you please make the list searchable with a string?

These two features would allow readers and authors to discover that the tags we want already exist with slightly different spelling. For example, #writethebite and writethebite and similar tags with/without hashtag symbol are redundant. Readers who are looking for books on separation could discover the three books that use the misspelled tag seperation.

On pages 169 to 477 are the tags that only one book is using. Since each page has four tags, about 28% of tags are connecting books and 52% of tags are marking books as unique.

On pages 477 to 594 are the 20% of tags that it seems no books are using. Do FFEditors know why these tags exist?

Could there be (Edited:) I see that there is a link to this list of tags from the Fan Fiction Section's first page?

Sorry, I am unable to get what you are saying… which lists are you referring at? And which 32% of tags are not in use for any book?

I am referring to this list of author-defined tags for fan fiction books. (Same link as in my post 6 months ago, which I quoted above.) The list of all tags ever created by authors could be very helpful for authors to connect our books. However, to be useful ...

1. Authors/readers should be (Edited:) are able to jump to the list of tags from the first page of the Fan Fiction section.

2. The list should be searchable.

3. The list should be sortable alphabetically.

4. The list should have page number buttons instead of just Previous and Next.

5. Tags that were created but never used for any book shouldn't clutter the list. Right now, the list is sorted by how many books use the tag. The tags on pages 486 to 713 are not in use.

I think like the national flag, the pronouns could be displayed with the accounts, with the choice of people want it to be displayed or not and in the notifications, pronouns can be shown, but if people choose to hide it, they/them can be shown (it's one of the gender neutral Pronouns, plus, when we don't know someone's gender, we actually say, they, so it makes kind of sense)

It's a general presumption that the members are female (unless their UNs/DPs suggest so) and offensive is not adding the feature, but when someone just assumes someone's gender because they don't have all the information needed.

Adding that feature also will be a good look on the site. Zoom and Instagram(in few countries) have that feature too. There is nothing offensive in asking what someone would be preferred to be called, it's basic manners in 2023.
