I am organizing a game and one of the requirements for this game is, me receiving "Email read notifications" when contestants open my PM.

I sent a trial question 3 days ago and for some strange reason out of 19 contestants I did not receive Email notifications from 4.

I sent one single PM to all of them and my "Email read notification" box is definitely checked. Even in my preferences, all three boxes relating PMs are checked.

All those contestants are in my buddy list.

Can someone look into this and fix it please?

I am planning to start this game in 3 days.😒

In order to make sure you get all the emails please "WhiteList" emails from our site.

For example in Gmail you can follow it using:

Whitelist Email Addresses In Gmail

and make sure it doesn't get sent to Spam folder and I am sure for other email providers similar systems must be there.

I did notice that half my notifications from IF were going to Spam folder. This has been happening for a while and I have been moving them to my Inbox by clicking on the "Not spam" tab.

The notifications I was talking about were not even in the Spam folder.

I told my contestants to make changes to their own E-mail notification settings. Then I sent them a test message. I know it should not effect, but after they made changes, I received e-mail notifications from two of them.

Now I whitelisted emails from India Forums. I will send another test message to the remaining two and see how it goes.

Since our site has members from all over the world. We would allow users to update their resident country on their profile.

And we will show that country flag on their user panel on Forum Posts / Hover Card.

This will again be an optional feature. So if you do not want to share that information it would not show up next to your profile.


UPDATE:

This feature is LIVE.

In order to enable it for your profile you can simply do it follow this:

Preferences > Privacy Settings > Show Country > ON

And that would start showing your current Country on the right of your username on Forum Posts.


Please Note: On Windows PC Chrome browser it will be showing Country code instead of Flag as its not supported on Windows .. but in other devices it will show the country flag.

This feature is really nice...

We are now showing the Country Flag in more places like: PM, User Profile, Reaction List and few other pages.

And we would continuously make attempts that we do not land in Spam folder.

We request users to review their Preferences > Email Notifications page to make sure they only get emails they want to receive.
