I have been a part of many forums and most mods are civil, respectful towards members. Yes, Mods have a life of their own. Mods are busy. Mods do the best they can.

So does atominis. She has a life of her own. She is taking her own personal time to look up posts include links. The posts in question she has linked are still around. There is no warning and those posts haven't been deleted.

Why include a 'suggestions/comments' section if suggestions are going to be ignored?
Why include a 'suggestions/comments' section if links with stereotypes/generalization/racism posts are going to be ignored with no action taken?
Why include a 'suggestions/comments' section if a member is going to be mocked for their detailed suggestions?

Members gain nothing by giving suggestion. Members want a friendly atmosphere. Like Mods take out time to respond, so do members take their own personal time to look up links, and respond. If members are expected to be mindful of a mod's time, then shouldn't mods be mindful of a member's time.

No country or its people thrive on generalized cyber opinion (veiled keyboard warriors in action 24/7) so any opinion positive or negative shud not be taken in extreme seriousness.Cyber Patriotism doesnt make you a patriot doing any good and nor does constant cyber trashing make you a traitor doing any bad .

Its called virtual world for a reason ...it has nothing to do with real ground reality :)

^Like seriously, a mod is saying all this. 😲 Now i have this feeling that only deaf ears are turned towards our earnest appeals 🥱.
Well, definitely, constant trashing wouldn't harm physically but mentally it does. It plays with the feelings of individuals. And no, it's not about opinion only, it's about deliberate mockery and exaggeration making the concerned people feel suffocated. And yes, the most open minded people of the forum are doing that. And if they have the backing of higher authorities, then I must say they are not that wrong (pun intended).

And if cyber trashing is not that an issue then why there exists an entire forum on rules and regulations with most of them coming under this less significant 'cyber trashing'??? And why can people sue others for defamation for commenting something inappropriate through net? And why do slander lawsuits prevail legally and the society responds to them and take their help? Moreover, whether it's virtual or head on, direct or indirect, personal or general, when someone attacks on your character with untrue and proof - less statements, then he is an offender and bound to go under scanner and be warned or is liable to some strict actions by the mods. Period.

Tomorrow I will say something against a country and its people, won't you delete my post and warn me? Common, be practical enough and judge the issue after taking your discriminately inclined glasses off. Don't let our concerns evaporate and vanish in thin air in your eyes as this is something really material and no less than a stubborn dried up precipitate to be there on forever if the required steps are not taken.

If that's the case then,
1.Why are so many rules made in IF?
2.If positive or negative opinion shouldn't be taken in extreme seriousness then why are members warned and in some extreme cases, banned when they indulge in bashing and name calling actors and actresses? Why does it make so much difference to the mods if Sobti is called Soaptea,KSG is called Gobar,etc.,etc., by members of this forum? After all,it's a virtual world, right?
3.Is the reply going to be the same if US,UK and other countries are insulted here?
Please answer my questions.

Holly crap! I just thought this is one of the trolls here talking but in next post some1 said, u r a mod and I checked. U r indeed a mod.

Veiled keyboard warriors in action 24/7? Is that ur humble and generous opinion on the members wjho aake up these forums with their contributions and U r allowed to moderate it? So, U r the moderator of keyboard warriors?

Dude, ever heard of cyber crimes? Ever heard of how keyboard warriors can actually plot to kill some 3000 ppl in a terrorist attacks? Ever heard of ppl r going behind bars for opening websites and sharing child pronography? Ever heard of HATE sites being banned in many countries? Ever heard YT videos r monitored 24/7 so that some naive lil girl dont post a video of her body? Ever heard of age limit to visit a website? Ever heard of moderators r needed for such public forums? May be U have heard the last one and just laughed it off..." haha, I m gonna control the keyboard warriors now... haha virtual world. "

The laptop is as real as my emotions right now dude. I m not typing on keyboard in my dreams, mate! The ads on ur sites r not for a virual world. Its for how many REAL ppl click and participate to make it the success it is. Therez no alien here whoz typing a msg and taking his/her time for entertainment which turned into a mess. and become an issue we r talking abt.

THIS IS THE MOST DISGUSTING MSG I HAVE EVER READ FROM A MOD FROM ANY FORUM EVER, I dont live in India, but if I did... I would officially complain to the right authorities about this reply from a MODERATOR, of India forums.

That Vijay dude said, IF forums are liable to Indian laws, so some YT videos can not be posted here. Hello? Virtual world? Keyboard warriors? And u r a moderator?

Un freaking believable. Dont ban me or give me coz u said "Its just a virtual world and we r just 24/7 keyboard warriors" coz if do.. then ur head will replace ur heart... in a virtual world.

TOTALLY DISGUSTED.

Interesting that you use the term 'bashing' yet feel free to mock me here for 'twisting a well meaning comment'. I very clearly stated in that comment that as the Head of the Crazy Creatives team, it was imperative that I provide a reply to that suggestion. I have the right to decide how my team functions so if I did not agree with your suggestion, that makes me a DT that 'twists your well meaning comments'?

Last I checked, freedom worked both ways. If you have the freedom to provide those suggestions, I have the freedom to reject them.

Finally, for any members that may be unaware, moderators on IF take action on all misconduct reported. For a forum such as the Bollywood forum that has over hundreds of active topics, it is impossible for moderators to go through every single thread and read every single comment to ensure no rule is broken. If you want action taken, report the thread. Drop the mod in question a PM with the link to the thread WHEN IT HAPPENS. If the moderator doesn't take action after you've sent them a PM or notified them, they will undoubtedly explain why that hasn't been done.

If they do not respond at all, you go to the higher moderators such as the Global Moderators or Channel Moderators.

For example, I've come across members that provide you 50 examples of plagiarized fan fictions if I take action against one plagiarized fan fiction that must have been their favourite. My question then is, if you saw that plagiarized fan fiction and knew it was plagiarized, why didn't you notify the DT? Why do you think you can bring that up as defense now? The FF DT can't google search every single fan fiction posted on the forum every day. That's impractical and quite unnecessary.

@ Angela, Off topic though, I want to know what exactly does IF think about Plagiarism ?

On topic, action taken and adequate action taken are two different terms I believe. At least 40 people agree on that. I have always maintained that the threads should not be locked but the posts and the post maker profile should be deleted instead. You keep the post there as a souvenir which resolves the matter for a split of second. A moment later the Post maker is back with another controversial post.

If BW forum is so active then may be you need a few more moderators or restrict its activity. Make BW or other such active forums for members only. Let them register first and prove their credentials so that you can track them later. This is the best thing about a rule book. REVISION.

If you can't do either of it then change the name of the forum. Don't call it India forums anymore. Don't tell me its impossible.

Subha, AllBlack and a few others have already hit the nail in the coffin. Let me add a little bit. Although the honorable Supreme Court of India has scrapped 66A but has also maintained that any comment or post that can provoke the masses at large will still be considered illegal. Now, isn't insulting my nation in my own country an example of provocation ?

I never thought of it this way. The Indian law fraternity were wasting their time or still wasting some of it while framing the laws for a 'virtual' thing which has nothing to do with the ground reality 😆
