Comfort Is A Must: Gauri Tejwani;from Gauri blog

I really don't believe in 'fashion' as in what's in and what's out. I believe that one should wear what they are comfortable in and what they can afford. Though I love designer stuff, I also at times will pick up things from the road side. Hiten knows the one look I give him when I see something I like and all he has to do is pull out his wallet and pay

I am a complete shopaholic and am obsessed with shoes and clothes. You have to come see my shoes - I have over 200 pairs as I have a huge fetish for shoes. I also love shopping for handbags. Not only do I shop for myself but also my husband and I am responsible for his look.

In the summer, I love to live in shorts and t-shirts. I really prefer wearing cotton and I avoid colors in the summer and tend to prefer white. Summer is my favorite season and I can wear white forever. I feel if one can look in the mirror and feel confident about themselves, then its good enough. I don't care about what anyone else thinks so I wear what I feel suits me and looks nice on me and I would suggest the same to everyone.

Manwa Naik is shooting for Marathi films as well as holidaying... Get to know how..

Manwa Naik, who was last seen in Sahara One's Saas V/s Bahu is having a gala time holidaying as well as shooting!!

The actress plays lead roles in two Marathi films, 'Grahalakshmi' and 'Sixer'. Recently, the unit had an outdoor shoot of 12 days at Goa, where Manwa had a blast.

"I used to shoot in the mornings and party the whole night. It was joyous and real fun. Also, what excites me is the fact that I have shed off my bahu ka avtar and play a young girl in both my films", quips the actress.

Manwa looks trimmer now as she has lost oodles of weight. "I look great now, and have shed nearly 6 kg", adds the actress.

Ask her about her comeback to television and she quips, "I do not want to get back to the saas-bahu sagas. I want to do something different, and will take my time to choose the role I want".

Manwa was part of Zee's Teen Bahuraniyan too.

We wish her all the very best for her films as well as future in TV!!

The Times of India news
22 Mar 2009, 0000 hrs IST

The actor who became popular with Special Squad, disappeared from the small screen once the serial was pulled off air. After doing small parts in films like Lakshya and Dhokha, Bhanu is back on the small screen. However, it's not a serial that we are talking about.

The actor was seen recently in one of the short films directed by Vikram Bhatt for TV. During his Special Squad days, Bhanu had said that he doesn't see himself in any of the saas-bahu serials and the actor seems to have stood by his decision. But with the saas-bahu serials going off the radar, may be it's time for Bhanu to consider taking up some show again.

Old Article of Gauri
"I carry a book in my car even when am out shopping!"

Books are said to be man's best friend, and Gauri Pradhan proves this adage right to a T. "They are a source of enlightenment and have taught me a lot" exclaims Gauri. She tells Chikita Kukreja that she used to find reading boring at some part of her life in the past but now she carries a book with her even if she is out shopping.

I love reading all kind of books.

Which is your favourite book?
I like fiction as well as non fiction. Am fond of reading all kind of books because every author has a new approach to life and leaves a different impact on an individual. I loved The Alchemist and 11 minutes by Paulo Coelho.

What did you like most about the book?

Paulo is a great writer and I would recommend everyone I know to read his writings for sure. I like every line in his books; the language is not at all flowery, easily understood and simple and yet delivers a beautiful message.

What are you reading at present?
At present I am reading Gandhiji's autobiography My Experiments with Truth. It gives a glimpse into Indian culture and living on the path of truth and non violence.

'My experiments with truth' is a book i would recommend all to read.

The book has exceptional revelations of Gandhiji's own life, his experiences, his beliefs and the milestones of his career.

Who recommended you to read it?
This is the second time I am reading this book; the first time was when I was a kid and my dad forced me to read it. But this time I am reading it of my own will. Everything is great and incredible about Mahatma Gandhi, to learn and follow in one's life. You can say it's a Bible or Gita
for the ones who follow it.

Gauri's Bong lingo!

Ever wondered how Gauri Pradhan perfected her Bong diction in Star One's Special Squad? The lady who plays forensic expert Deepika Ghosh on the thriller, doesn't really speak a word of Bangla. Then how does she manage to mouth those casual Bangla terms and phrases with nonchalance? Well, we recently found out that all the homework is done for her by a co-star who chooses not to talk about it. The pucca Maharashtrian lass is taking lessons from this Bong co-star, who writes down the words she has to speak, in Devnagri script! No wonder then, that she hardly shows any sign of an accent!

I think, they are talking about Shotgun her bong co-star..

Best foot forward

A participant from the younger brigade of bahus, this actor is making sure that television does not bog down her acting spirit. Manva Naik seen in Teen Bahuraniya and Baa Bahu or baby says she is very particular about choosing a role in daily soaps, "The characters that I am playing in different serials have different shades and I am enjoying it thoroughly."

Besides, she will be shortly seen making her debut in a Marathi flick. And she has all praise for this dance show, "Audience will connect to the show as it is showing the saas bahu relation in a different way. Also the USP of this show is the age group of participants which varies from early 20's to late 50's and even some are in 60's."

I would love to be born as a Star Son - Pankit Thakkar By Minnie Gupta
| 10 November 2007 | 1:00pm

Your Nickname: Sweetu

Your Best Personal Quality: Sincerity and Optimism.

Your Weak Point according to you: My naivety. I easily believe everything and everybody and take everything at its face value. That has caused me a lot of grief and pain.

Your Biggest Influence is: The biggest influence in my life has been my own optimism. I have complete faith in myself. That is why even when everyone had advised, even warned me against becoming an actor as they thought I would never make it, even my astrological charts seem to say so, I kept faith in myself and finally became what I wanted to.

If you could go back in time you would...? : I would want to born as a star son so that I could at least get a launch vehicle.

If you could be anyone else you would be...?: No one. I am happy the way I am.

Greatest gift you have ever received: To be honest, nothing noteworthy as such.

First thing that you do when you wake up every morning : I go to the kitchen and make myself a cup of tea. It is something I like to do myself, as I am very particular about the way I have my morning cuppa.

Your best role so far: I enjoyed shooting for Special Squad. Sometimes, you click with everyone on the sets. Special Squad was like that. Starting from the spot boy to the camera person to the actors to the script writers, everyone bonded there. We had a fabulous time. Also, my the role I played in Kabhi Sautan Kabhi Saheli I believe had many shades to it, and its very close to my heart.

Working in Dill Mill Gayye has been : It has been very different, and very professional. Because of the tight shooting schedules, we have not have had quality bonding time. Everyone keeps to their make up vans if they are not shooting, and the atmosphere is highly professional and driven. I love it that way as I also love the time I get to myself.

'Don Ko Pakadna Mushkil Hi Nahi Namumkin Hai' - Pankit Thakkar By Binita Ramchandani | 17 May 2008 | 9:30am

The talented and charming Atul Joshi aka Pankit Thakkar of Dill Mill Gayye answers a set of rapid fires in a candid chat for our weekly column in Telly Buzz...

Describe yourself in one word:
Honest

Best complement received till date: Actually everyone says I have a cute smile.

Favorite Television Show: Obviously, it has to be Dill Mill Gayye..

You are Passionate about: Cars

If not an actor, what would you have been: I would have been a director. I always wanted to be in Media line only as an Actor or a Director.

Favorite Hangout place: I think there are many places in Mumbai and it's very difficult to state one.

Memorable moment with fans: Actually there is a fan called Trina, she has come up with a blog on Atul i.e. the character I play in DMG and the best part is that she has done it on http://www.india-forums.com/ Not just that, I also took her advice and that was my way of expressing my heartfelt thanks to her.

One Quality that you like in your partner: The person should accept me the way I am, and that is exactly what I like in my wife..

A Memorable Moment with your kid, Rakshan: Once my son was watching a travel show and he was quite excited to see Singapore in the show. Later when I surprised him by taking to Singapore, he was really happy. I think this is the best thing that I have done for him till date.

Favorite Cuisine: Sizzlers, be it veg or non-veg and now whenever my family goes out, I always end up having sizzlers.

Any Song that is always on your lips: Main Zindagi ka saath nibata chala gaya…..

Favorite Movie Dialogue: Don ka intazar gyaarah mulko ki police kar rahi hai…….Don ko pakadna mushkil hi nahi naamumkin hai….Why I say this is because if I am not in a mood to talk, then I will never talk and it applies to everyone be it my family, friends etc.
