Pankit Thakker is an indian television Actor.He has acted in many serials.Currently he is working in Dill Mill Gayye.He potrays the role of Dr. Atul Joshi in the show.

Pankit is from a middle class background.He had to do a lot of hard work for getting in the profession of acting.He is married.Although he is an actor,he is shy and a reserved guy.He spends most of his time reading novels.

May 10th was celebrated all over the world as Mother's Day- a day to honor mothers and motherhood & be grateful for the positive contributions that mothers make to society.

To commemorate this day, TV actors Hiten Tejwani & Gauri Pradhan paid a visit to the 'Jeevan Asha Old Age Home' at Andheri & through this very kindly & thoughtful gesture, brought a smile to many of the mothers there.

They interacted with each of them and cheered them up, asking them how they passed their time and if the atmosphere was homely enough in the Old Age Home. They brought in a cake as a symbol of celebration which lightened the mood and also made each of them want to satisfy their sweet tooth!

Talking about the experience, Hiten says, "It was a wonderful experience. Once we entered, the vibes we got were very welcoming & it felt very touching to mingle with them. I wish all the mothers world-wide a very Happy Mother's Day!". Hiten.

Gauri says in tune, "I couldn't agree more with Hiten. It just felt so moving to come & spend time here. I am glad we did this and were able to get them beaming with our visit".

HUM TUM: Gauri loves to shop for clothes and jewellery while Hiten would rather invest in a house PICS/SATISH BADIGER

The sight of Hiten and Gauri holding hands, at the recent Star Parivaar Asia Wedding Fair in the city, brings to mind Henry Youngman's words, 'We always hold hands. If I let go, she shops'.

Gauri looks like she's raring to go on a wild shopping spree, tempting me to ask Hiten what's on his wish list at the gala, to which he retorts, "I'd rather invest in a house, yaar."

The couple that claims they are "poles apart" thinks opposites attract. "We met during an ad shoot and hit it off instantly. We courted for a year-and-a-half before tying the knot. Four-and-a-half years of marriage have been great," says Hiten.

On the professional front, it's been a long journey from Kyunki Saas to Kutumb to Mahabharat for Hiten. Is he travel weary? "It's been a great learning experience. I didn't know much about Karna earlier. Thanks to my role in Mahabharat, I have done my homework well," he says.

Is it just a matter of time before he moves from TV to films? "I'm really looking forward to it. I'd like to finish my TV commitments before signing on films," is his thoughtful reply.

MiD DAY: Your fitness regime must be awesome.
Gauri Pradhan: I'm a fitness freak. I make sure I hit the gym at least three or four times a week. I work on the treadmill. Sometimes, I do yoga also. It is very relaxing.

MD: What are your other interests?
GP: I paint. I'm also doing a course in psychotherapy.

MD: Did you enjoy your stint on Nach Baliye 2? Would you do it again?
GP: It was very stressful and very taxing. I wouldn't want to do it again. But if the format is really exciting, then may be.

MD: Does the Hindi film industry beckon?
Gauri: No, I'm just not comfortable doing films.

Gauri Pradhan > Marriage or career hasn't changed me. I still have my feet on the ground. I don't believe in the kind of marriage that changes a person completely. My relationship with Hiten is also the same. He is still my best friend and career wise, since both of us are in the same field, it is an added advantage.

Gauri Pradhan > I would love to do what Meena Kumari did in Pakeezah or what Rani Mukheerjee is doing in Black .

Manava Naik's social cause

The actress is involved in child welfare

Manava Naik, currently seen in Teen Bahuraniyan (ZEE TV) and Baa Bahu Aur Baby (STAR One), is active in child welfare and does her own bit to contribute towards it.

On a trip to Lonavala recently, Manava was shocked to see a little boy engaged in a tedious job. When she found out that he was working for a very meagre amount, she went up to his employer and asked him if he was aware child labour was a crime. The employer simply replied that the boy was working at his own will.

Says Manava, "I was very touched on seeing the amount of work that the small lad was doing. The employer was actually exploiting him by paying peanuts. I was completely disheartened!"

The actress has always been actively involved in children's welfare. In fact, her family runs an organisation, Kalsootri, managed by her mother Meena Naik who is also an active social worker.

"Yes, I've been involved with such issues since childhood. I used to even take part in plays and skits and have seen how it functions from close. Therefore, I am well aware of these children's rights and what should not be happening," says Manava

As telly actors shoot for the 70mm screen, one such actress - Manwa Naik of the Ba Bahu aur Baby and Teen Bahuraniya fame, hit the big screen with 2008's most awaited film - Jodhaa Akbar, where she plays Jodhaa's friend, who accompanies her from the Rajput palace to the Mughal empire. The Telly Buzz team talks to the lady of the hour on her experience of being a part of this beautiful historical love saga'

"It was a great experience for me. I was shooting with veterans of the film fraternity, who have been so well established and experienced in the field," says Manwa.

On her favorite moment in the film, she replied, "Actually, the over all experience for me was so over whelming. I enjoyed every moment of it. Its too hard to pin down just any moment. Although when come to think of it, I really enjoyed shooting the song - Merhaba, the song was truly beyond this world." Manwa couldn't stop admiring Ashwariya for her friendly persona. "Ash was like an elder sister to us. She never made us feel out of place for being new in the industry. She welcomed us and took really good care of us on the sets and made us feel quite comfortable with her hospitality." quotes the actress.

On the turn of events from TV to the big screen, Manwa stated, "I was shooting a commercial with Ashish Gowarikar (Ashutosh Gowarikar's brother), and then one day he asked me if I had few days off, I said yes, he sent me for the audition, I was selected and took off for Jaipur the next day. I was shooting for ten days followed by few scenes at the Karjat studio." Before signing off she adds, "I don't have any projects on the big screen as of now, just hoping for the best."
