The acts of ours has equal and sometimes unexpected Repercussions. in every era the societal expectations poses great expectations and blame on the shoulders of some. A patriarchal society like ours has been unfair to a few. What makes it ruthless is the fact that Sits was bearing the heirs of Ram and the hearing of Rajaram's verdict is such that it drives Sita to contemplate death. She seems more sinned against as society's value system was so limited in its perspective.

Guys forget about Tretayug and think about our present time, will any man be genuinely ready accept his wife back after she spends some time @ someone else's especially in his enemy's custody? Yes, they will not have problem if she does on official trips and spend days alone but will not take it so easily if she shares the trip (may not be room) with her colleague.

@jaya Ramayan and MB are still relevant because we still have the same problems😃. It is now that woman going out with men on official trips or a group project party or an office tour doesn't create much of a stir. But it was a big issue atleast 10-15 years back. My father was quite upset with me for giving a professional handshake to a colleague whom I met in railway station during my initial days in IT profession. And I didn't blame him because I did it the way I do in office. But railway station was a public place and many people will not take it lightly and there will be people who knows us also who can make mountain out of a mole

@Savitha the screenplay was top notch. Especially Mahalakshmi steps out of Ayodhya in the darkness and when she reaches the forest it is light. It shows in a place where the minds of people is dark Mahalakshmi will not stay. People don't realize or know Lakshmi has gone. Many times it is after a long time they realize the mistake, but sometimes it will be far too late to correct it. In Sita's case since Ram was there Raghukul survived, else if Ram had broken the vachan to Siya that would have been the end of Raghukul

@ayushi happy to know that my lines gave you hope. I always say fighting within the system is hard, but on any day that is the best way. Ramayan is always about love and fighting within the system. That's why it always gives peace of mind, a ray of hope.

Wanted to share 2 things in this thread. It is not related to SKR but something that touched me deeply in the last week, but didn't get time to post.

One was the verdict of the sensational Soumya Rape case by Supreme Court. I don't know how many of you have heard about it, but it was a case where a woman was pushed from the train. She fell on the tracks, her head bleeding and in this gravely injured condition a man called Govindachamy raped the girl and she died. It happened in Feb 2011 and had created a big stir in kerala. The fast track court and the high court awarded death sentence for Govindachamy but the supreme court made it life imprisonment citing lack of evidence to prove whether she jumped from the train or was actually pushed. The criminal Govindachamy has got a lawyer called Aloor who is paid huge money. No one till date has investigated how a petty beggar Govindachamy got such a lawyer who with his persuasive arguments in Supreme Court has overturned the lower court and High court judgement. This is a hot point of discussion in Kerala media as everyone wants a review petition. A brutal rapist and murderer escapes the noose thanks to the technical flaws

On the other side the one who slayed the Chennai Techie Swati is found in his cell dead. It is said he has committed suicide. I don't know after reading that news I felt happy. Unlike the mother of Soumya or that of Jyoti Pandey atleast the mother of Swati will get a closure. The man responsible for her daughter's death is no more. Yes people are telling there might be foul play in his death. But personally I don't care. He got punishment for what he did and the case got closed unlike dragging it for years and some lawyer able to get him less punishment with his persuasive skills and then some human right people coming and cutting short that small punishment also.

Shruti, incidentally I was discussing about both these cases

yesterday with my Mom

and we shared the exact same opinion like urs

Also not only in Soumya's case

Even in other such cases

I really wonder who is hiring those lawyers to save those criminals🤢🤢

Obviously all r not hired by the criminal's parents or relatives as many can't afford

sometimes the victim's family seem well off

than the criminal's still the criminal escapes law😕

@Mano maybe the perception related to crimes and the whole nexus associated with a criminal brings him out. As if he goes a whole lot of others will also go into jail. But it is time we seriously looked into such cases where justice is denied. One good thing now is that unlike earlier times some verdict does stir discussion in the public forum. People are demanding justice now as the crime can happen to anyone and lack of punishment makes the criminals bolder. Look today another woman stabbed in Delhi
