Yet in mythology this is one of the places where we find thulaparam mentioned that's why I shared if its occupying to much space will edit and post link alone let me know?
But this story depicts that the present day thulaparam is not the one the Lord actually asks for? Isn't it

@sanju the tulabharam you explained that story I also know. See this is the beauty of Krishna. Rukmini is his first wife, the crowned queen. Satyabhama is also his beloved. But then at no occasion Krishna undermines Rukmini. Every wife of Krishna has to respect Rukmini and she is the most cherished wife of Krishna, Sreedevi. A woman who has left behind everything for his sake. For Krishna Rukmini is first and she will treated as such. That's where Dasrath falters. Kausalya is first, but he gives importance to Kaikeyi. Krishna actually shows the rule of polygamy also. Bhama is not married because Rukmini has some inadequacy. It happens after the Symantaka incident where Bhama's father finally gives Bhama to Krishna. Same with Jambavati. It also happens in course of Symantaka incident. Rest of Krishna's wife as I understand are the one's liberated from Narakasura's prison who decided to commit suicide as society wont accept them. Krishna gives them shelter by marrying them.
If you check even in birth Krishna gives importance to his badi maa. Vasudev's first wife Rohini gets Balrama, only then Devaki gets Krishna. And Krishna has always loved and obeyed his brother. That is one of the reason he gives options to Arjuna as he is supposed to help duri also. Because Balrama stays away from war because both Duri and Bhima are his disciples. So Krishna cannot help one side alone.

Now coming to Shrutha your question. For me tulabharam is what part of you, you are willing to surrender to God. In physical sense you can give wealth equal to your physical weight as money, banana, sugar, diamonds anything.
But in emotional sense tulabharam is surrendering yourself to his will. surrendering your pain, your wishes, your desires at his feet and request him to show the way to traverse this samsara sagara.

Hello everybody. I am Sweetie. I was an ardent follower of SKR in the beginning but due to work pressures left it midway.
The beauty of SKR is that it is so interlinked. One day I am going to watch it in one go. SKR brought me so much closer to Ramayana. Before this I focused all my energies on Mahabharat. I can go on and on about it.😳 I found it more relatable. We humans have a tendency to destroy most things ourselves. That is the difference between two epics. in one, things go from bad to worse, but in Ramayana- even in the most dire of all times- there is hope, there is goodness.

Really interesting discussions going on here. Now that we are almost through SKR maybe the discussions will be around other avatars too.

Hello Sweetie. Even I was like you. MB all around as like you I could relate to MB more. But SKR has in a way connected me more to Ramayana. And if you see I have posted many parallels between Ramayana and MB during discussions on SKR.
Do post your thoughts on SKR episodes. This thread we specifically connect the screenplay and it is mostly dedicated to SKR screenplay without comparison to any other versions.

Hello Shruthi, Thanks for the welcome. Yup am trying to watch it regularly in this last leg and would love to join you all here. I am going through the thread backwards right now. As I said earlier, very interesting and informative discussions.
BTW other than hotstar, where else can you watch SKR. I have old lappie which gets heated up with continuous internet buffering, so anywhere from where to download old episodes and watch.

Shruthi ,You echoed my thoughts on Tulabharam.Even in the story about Satyabhama ,Krishna was trying to teach the same. The story shows that He does not Want your material wealth to be pledged to him,but he wants you to leave your outer layer of trappings along with your ego and surrender to his will.I have heard that when you do Tulabharam it is never perfectly balanced but the closest point is taken as the final result.Krishna follows the same path with Draupadi,he waits till she stops her cries of help from the people in the Sabha and lifting her hands surrenders to him.
I have always wondered if we humans are really capable of that kind of surrender,it just seems to be so difficult in practice. But in one of the books they had delineated the complete process by dividing them into steps. The first step was letting go of all the hurts and the people responsible for it without letting it take over your thoughts...I am stuck in the first step😆. Loved ur take on why A.p.WIll write more when I have some more time.

@Savitha when I read Celestine Prophecy as well as Magic the one thing that came prominently was to let go of the hurt.
But if you try to forget it, it is not possible. What I have experienced it is accepting those negative feelings, accepting those hurt, yes it has hurt me. What can I do to close it. Then I direct my energy at something where I get closure of past in a positive way. Because hurt burns as a fire inside you. And that fire has to be directed at the system, tradition, person who hurt you at the right way. If you do that fire get closed slowly and you slowly arrive at inner peace.
What did the trick in SKR as far as AP is concerned was the battle of mind of Ram and Raghunandan. I cried really and to top it all was the private confession he gives Sita. I failed as a husband. The stoic image that is given to the world is breaking like anything from inside. The guilt to chose raghunandan over Ram. And Ashish nailed the dilemma. People saw her trial, but did they see his tears. That is what makes Ram-Sita eternal
