Okay, I get it now, sorry! 😊
What you said is true, Ravan knew deep down somewhere that his end is near. But, that small fear also tore him from the inside, like it does to all of us. And that fear manifested as him trying to make others fear him. He tried to make himself feel better, but that just aggravated his fear. Because the more you sin, the more you fear.
Now u get it , Bang On😃
With each and every battle he lost and in the process killing his many Mayavi Asurs , A small part of Raavan gradually accepted the reality little by little , but his ego and Pride made him more desperate , to such extent that he didnt mind pushing his blood family on the enemy lines to fight for him
By the time he did get the crux of the situation , it was all over .
Actually when he went to war with Ram in his final battle , He knew completely that he was up against Lord narayan Himself . But going back and accepting defeat meant a shot to his pride , which he could never digest , so he carried on
What the poor chap never understood that there should have never been a tiniest bit of shame to surrender to the Lord , if only he could have swallowed his pride , Lord narayan's heart was so big that he would have forgiven him still
