Another beautiful episode. I love the parallels CVs have drawn once again. First telling Hanuman it is not about just her, it is about dharma now. If she goes away then Ravan will continue his adharm on women and other people. Only Ram can do it and so she has to be there. It beautifully showed Jagat Janani's determination to suffer for the benefit of the world. For the benefit of her children. Next was the beautiful choodamani scene. Sita gives her bandhan to Hanuman to give it to Ram. That is the last mark of her bandhan. The last symbol of her being Gowri. Once she gives that bandhan to where it belongs as a mark of telling him that only he will reside in her heart, she becomes complete Kali for Lanka with no bandhan's attached. She is the uncontrolled, unbridled Prakriti standing in Lanka to destroy it. To destroy its pride, to destroy its so called honor.

Vibishan recognizes this Kali. When Sita came to Lanka I had told the presence of Durga in a family is known when the family members don't trust each other, when the family members plot against each other. When Sita came itself we could see the discord happening in Lanka family. But since the choodamani representing the Gowri was there in her it was not visible. But today we got the proof of Kali when the 2 brothers Ravan and Vibishan fight and Ravan asking Vibishan to go away from Lanka.

Vibishan wanted good for his brother, but Ravan couldn't recognize his brother's well meaning intentions in his ego. Result is infight between the brothers.

This is where Kaikasi as a mother failed. In her mahatwakamsha she forgot to instill good values and togetherness in her children. She taught Ravan to conquer 3 worlds but didn't tell him to value his relations with his brothers. Lack of that teaching is not only going to cost Ravan, but also Lanka who will pay the price of giving unbridled freedom to a woman lusting for power.

Kaikasi is frightened today seeing her mirror image in Sita. Only difference. What Kaikasi did was for her benefit and what Sita doing is for the benefit of others.

When we talk about the path crossing of Ram and Ravan we have to talk about the path crossing of Sita and Shanta. Kaikasi and Kaikeyi

What Shanta did was also for the welfare of her country, to get a ruler for her country. Only problem was, in it was Dasrath's hidden Mahatwakamsha to have the ruler of Ayodhya belonging to his blood. Else in old days there were adoption rules and other methods to chose king if a king dies without a issue. Even Shanta married and one of her kids ruling the Ayodhya was also feasible if Dasrath had decided to adopt his grandson. But Dasrath didn't look for any of such better options. His desire for son, his desire to have his blood rule the throne of Ayodhya made him extract the life of young ladies of Ayodhya along with his daughter. That negative energy or that Kali is demanding justice for long.

There is no Mahatwakamsha hidden in neither Sita nor Ram on what they are doing. And they choose this path with freewill. So when they destruct, they destroy only the right things, while Shanta's sacrifice extracted the life of her 3 brothers one way or the others. Also Dasrath was forced to die the death of a childless man.

Kaikasi and Kaikeyi has Mahatwakamsha. While Ravan falls prey to Kaikasi's Mahatwakamsha, Bharath because of Ram considering him an individual rises above his mother's Mahatwakamsha.

Ram by knowing his relations are his wealth and their trust is his power wins, while Ravan giving too much importance to physical power and wealth finally fails before a woman's trust and faith

What a beautiful analysis Shruthi Di 👏👏

The difference btw Sita as Gawri nd Kali is so beautifully explained by you ...

Ram said that he's coming to free Sita from all bandhan nd end the adharm in Lanka ...
Freeing from bandhan means becoming Kali na. And Ravan saw in his nightmare that Sita in form of Kali is killing him (which was symbolic of Ram killing Ravan)... In Ram's words there's no existence of Ram without his Sitae.. Whatever he is , is due to Sita, his strength...
So is it that the destructive energy of Sita as Kali gets manifested in Ram and he thus kills Ravan?

I love that you always compare Bharat with Ravan nd Kaikeyi with KKesi... I had never even thought of this angle nd things you relate with Shanta are as usual beautiful.. Sometimes I wonder how you got this much understanding of the epic 👍🏼

Another thing Di,
I know we are not allowed to discuss anything negative about the show here in this thread 😆
But I want to discuss with u nd others on this thread who like to see everything in positive light...

I kept quiet nd waited patiently in the beginning of the naya adhyay when they were not showing Ram at all but things didn't change even after he returned... They had already focused a lot on Lanka then why they didn't explore Ram Lakshman pain properly? We got just 1 RaLa scene (which was very sweet) nd very few Ram scenes here nd there but Ravan playing Veena nd KKesi doing her yagya can be focused?

Sulochana nd Sita bond I wanted to see, but instead of that we got Sulochana fighting for woman's rights
I was excited of Sita Mandodari and we got few powerful scenes too but cooking tips nd Everytime speaking same dialogues about Satvik nd Tamsik food was too monotonous
And Ravan throwing that bhojan nd shouting on Mandodari nd KKesi like a typical Saas uff...

Hanuman track was written well nd shot beautifully, even Bali Vadh I have to say the dialogues were amazing and they justified Shri Ram's acts very well which is what made me sign in for the show, it's analytical approach
But Bali Vadh editing was at its worst!! Everytime we got involved in the scene they switched to Lanka
That's where Hanuman Sita scenes stood out as they were exclusively dedicated to them nd Ram Hanuman meet toh happened in milliseconds , Shabri scene was soo short and incomplete

Lakshman sugreev argument maybe they purposely skipped not to show RaLa as impatient but whatever scenes they r giving, though selected atleast should be long enough so that we can connect well nd get involved.

And today again when Hanuman gave that chudamani to Ram the scene was for milliseconds nd Ravan walking was shown for 5 min 😆

Basically I can't see any Sita pov but Ravan pov since Haran 😆
As Sita's pov they gave since beg where Ram was the most prominent character but suddenly with change of writers , the essence of the show is lost as per me (though the Hanuman parts were written beautifully by them😳)...

What do u guys feel?

@aditi I have repeated many times in this thread that sometimes to watch SKR we have to learn to unlearn the Ramayan as we know it.
I dont know whether you have seen 1987 version of Ramayan. I have seen it and I have also read Valmiki Ramayan, Ramacharitamanas, Ramayan by Rajagopalachari , Mali Ramayan and some parts of Killipattu Ramayanam by Ezhuthachan( This is studied as parts till 10th for my Malayalam paper). If you go through all this you will find one thing in common. Ramayana is depicted as journey of Ram. Sita Haran is part of that journey. Sita's trials is not mentioned in detail, but Ram's journey to reach her is mentioned. So even I have been at times a little disappointment when certain favourite parts of mine which is part of Ram's journey didnt come in SKR. Prominent being pain of Ram very explicitly though they have shown it.

If you look at SKR after Sita Haran it is not Ram's journey, but Sita's faith. That is Siya ke Ram. Her faith that her husband will come for her. Even in hostile conditions how she changes the ecosystem of Lanka, or make people of Lanka break her chains.

I had earlier also said Surpi is the power of Lanka, Sulo is wealth, Mandodari dharma. Sulo is not directed by Mandodari, that's why she ends up doing lot of mistakes though well intended.

You have to equate Sulo with Urmila. Remember Urmila in Mithila and her talk to Malyavan. Fierce feminist. Her question to Sita why didnt she tell Janak about her feelings for Ram and agreed for Swayamvar. And what does Urmila do in the end, she gives away her husband for seva with freewill and take sleep for 14 years for his sake. Why. Because she is directed rightly by Dharma Sita.

Sulo has no direction and feels every woman should get her rights and in Lanka since everyone is in chains she goes about breaking

Now comes surpi. She is the power. She has to be equated to Mandavi. My rights. Sita got swayamvar, why not me. The woman with my rights happily gives away the crown supporting her husband , why again directed by Dharma Sita.

What dharma does Sita teach her sisters and she herself follow. She follows what a woman should do in given circumstances. It is not wife, sister, bahu etc etc.. . It is about the duty of a woman. All other bandhan's come later.

She joins Ram for vanvass not because she is a wife, but because as a woman whose husband is ostracized from a kingdom she cannot stay in that kingdom. Why is urmila allowing Lakshman to go, because as a woman it is her duty to support her husband's mission of protecting his bhaiyya and bhabi. Why do Mandavi support Bharath. Because as a woman it is her duty to support dharma and what her husband does is the dharma.

What is the problem with Mandodari. She doesnt have the real knowledge. She does all the funda as a wife, mother etc.. but forgets the basic knowledge of being a woman. Sita imparts her that knowledge. And being a woman you have to manage relations and food is one way of managing relations subtly and most easiest one. Sita is reconstructing Lanka with her skills, before its destruction, because how will new Lanka be constructed without the right knowledge.

Hope I have clarified some of your doubts
