Today's episode was another path crossing. This time Kaikasi and Kaikeyi. Mahatwakamsha. Mahatwakamsha defined both the women. Kaikasi gave up all her happiness for power, for creating a powerful Asur kul. Kaikeyi she too gave up everything for getting the rights for her son. But what happened. The rights they snatched from others their own son's snatched from them. Ravan by making his mother a prisoner, by not listening to her had denied her, the rightful place in his life. Same thing Bharath does. He denies Kaikeyi the rights as a mother. But where does Kaikeyi survive and where will Kaikasi survive. Kaikeyi survived through Ram as Ram treated her mother and Kaikasi will survive through Vibishan who will treat her as mother.
What was the problem in Kaikeyi and Kaikasi treating Bharath and Ravan. They were not treated as kids. They were treated as tools to meet their goals. Ravan and Bharath were not individuals for Kaikasi and Kaikeyi. They were the means to an end. When you treat your child as a means to meet your ends what happened to Kaikeyi and Kaikasi happens to you. Your child denies you the right of the mother. Because you were never a mother to them. If you want the rights of a mother in the old age, you have to do the duty of a mother right way when the kid is growing up. You have to treat your child as a child, as an individual as a God's gift which you have got to feel the happiness of being a mother. If you feel the happiness of motherhood in nurturing the child, then the child will also treat you like a mother. Like Kausalya did, Like Sumitra did, Like Tara did, Like Yasodha did.
Now look at Ravan. Finally he accepts his father's side duty which is his true identity. He is born to a Brahmin, supposed to do the duty of a Brahmin but he has completely neglected this aspect or this part of his heritage. Vishnu and Rudra makes him realize that. He not only belongs to Kaikasi, he belongs to Vishravass also. If he can be a king as per his mother's side, he also can be a pandit as per his father's side. In a nutshell every child is a combination of both parents. Ram is not just Dasrath Nandan, he is Kausalya Nandan also. Sita is not just Janak Nandini, she is Sunaina Nandini also. Many times parents make their kids follow one side. It should never happen like that. A marriage is a union of 2 individuals, 2 thought process, 2 cultures into one. To understand the oneness both cultures and both individuals have to be understood in totality. You cannot say no to one side.
