What was it today guys. Yes the physical torture. But Sita's eyes. It was Kali in all glory. And I was just humming the title track of EHT ( Ek Hasina Thi) till the epi was over.
" Prachanda Sakthi shalini, vishala singha dharini, Maa Durga". Posting analysis soon

Do you know what is the first symptom of Kali or Durga entering your home. Break up in relations. And Lanka saw it today.Yes Sita was physically captured. But look at the emotional weakness happening in Lanka. Sulochana and Mandodari not happy. Vibhishan too unhappy. Meghnad supports but not comfortable and in the end open confrontation between Ravan and Surpi. This breaking of relation in Lanka is just the beginning. It will intensify.

And Sita's eyes what was that today. The defiance with which she looked at Surpi. Even when Surpi says I will take your eyes, she looks on. And Ravan gives her physical punishment. But she is Sita. Brought up by Raja Janak and wedded to Ram. The emotional strength she has is unmatched. Look the way she holds on in front of the physical torture.

But today I want to touch upon another aspect of Ravan and Ram. And why their paths are similar, but not the same.

I said earlier also both Ravan and Ram are the products of Sanskriti by making Prakriti cross the line of maryada. And both Ram and Ravan are knowledgeable. Ravan knew what was his father's weakness and Ram also knew what was his father's weakness due to Shanta and Kaikeyi. Both men intrinsically never wanted to succumb to that weakness. Or rather they doesn't want to fall prey to the lust and getting used by women.

But what differed was their approach. Ravan's mother used his father. So what did he do. He decided to use and throw woman at will. Just like his mother controlled his father he began to control women, raping them, terrorizing them and putting restrictions on them. So he thought by controlling women he will not succumb to the weakness of his father. And every woman he encountered strengthened this belief of his.

And then came a woman in his life who he couldn't control, he couldn't frighten who was steadfast and loyal to her husband. And she became his obsession. Conquering her became his mission and the very weakness he wanted to run away from he succumbed to it.

Now let us see Ram. He also doesn't wanted to succumb to the weakness of his father. But what did he do. Instead of going outside and controlling women, he controlled himself. He bought discipline to his inner self. He married a worthy lady and showered all his love on her. Gave her respect, gave her independence and without asking she gave him whatever he wanted. He immersed himself in body, mind and soul in her love. She protected him at every step and he became her trailblazer.

The same woman whom Ravan couldn't control, came into the bandhan of Ram with freewill. The same woman who is Kali for Ravan, is Ram's Gowri, his Shakthi, the medium which took him to greater heights. Who supported him , taking personal pain to establish the new maryada in the world.

By loving a woman, by respecting a woman Ram rose above the weakness of an average man. He applied the maryada to himself what he expected from his wife. And he became Siyaram for her, while she took down Ravan's kingdom.

Once again the message come out. Don't run away from past, don't try to run away from your weakness, instead accept the existence of it and through self-discipline over come it . That's the biggest message of Maryada Purushottam according to me. But still there will be more to come. But I am loving this path crossing at every step.

The joy of Revenge is short lived and I felt that was happened with updapandavas after the war. Sita her stoic silence speaks louder than her words would and her complete faith on ram will make goodness triumph.
@ shruthiravi Di waiting for ur analysis and would love a comparison of ram the brother and ravan the brother
Ram and Sita are the justice shanta gets
Here ravan just fulfils revenge

Ravan purely is a sadist but he has senses too he knows to lower her eyes she has to be made weak very relevant with Jhanvi Di capital punishment post
But then her will can't be broken and shruthiravi Di does it have a connect with free will

In relation do we highlight the other person weakness here ravan says I saw how u control people
Relations don't thy make our weakness our strength
Shoorpanakha is all words no action

And what patriotism Lanka if a woman is insulted is not the point was the woman right and it goes very well with the panchali Sita post shruthiravi Di
Actually my post is full of doubts and am sure ur analysis will clear it

Self discipline whatta post Di
Ram and ravan when put in same situations but ram thinks whereas ravan just succumbs
And ur description of mandodari is right though she seems a typical bahu she is fearless fiercely loyal and what wonders her chastity could do great
Make the weakness ur strength really great message for me presentation is worst and next year board exams and this motivates me Di
Thks for that
Yes ram that what he is worthy of worship he behave the way he expects Sita to behave. And here comes to the fray the karunamoorthy in him I feel

@DD Ravan knows only physical control. he doesnt understand the control of emotions. And Netra kholo mandodari and kaikasi realization. Far too late in the game. You are right. The way Sita scans the faces, with destruction written all over.
And see the difference between Shanta and Surpi. Shanta went and controlled a man and Surpi she came back with her nose gone.

Another interesting parallel. Dasrath Kaikeyi and Vishravas- Kaikasi. Vishravas thinks Kaikasi loves him, but she only has the motive of child. Kaikeyi thinks Dasrath loves her, but he marries her for the baby.
Sanskriti when knows the truth allows free hand to Prakriti resulting in creation of Ravan.
Prakriti when knows the truth, bends Sanskriti in front of her and make a Ram.

Ravan was born to a woman who had mahatwakamsha. Ram was nurtured by a woman who had mahatwakamsha, but his empathy which he got from his birth mother ensured the mahatwakamsha was kept in check. So there are lot of parallels in Ram and Ravan.
Their paths were meant to cross through a woman. Because at one end Sanskriti was seeking justice, Vishravas and Vibishan and the other end Prakriti was seeking justice Kaikeyi, Shanta. And Ram-Sita becomes the medium through which Sanskriti in Lanka and Prakriti in Ayodhya gets justice.
