Strengths and Weaknesses

Be it Business, Politics or War, it always helps to know the opponent's weakness(es). In fact, this factor (knowing the opponent's weakness) alone can often prove to be the game changer and bring out a result no one expected - the supposedly weaker party wins.

Yet, to make a well calculated move, is knowing the enemy's weakness enough? Most definitely NOT!! It is equally, if not more, important to know the enemy's strength. Most businesses undertake a detailed SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities & Threats) Analysis before they make any move - it is the basic step taken before any decision is made (even where no opponents or competitors are involved). My point is it is always important to have the complete picture before making a move - that's not procrastination, delay or weakness, it is PRUDENCE! Plain and Simple!

Now let's come to the current track of SKR - Ravan, in his illusions of power, ego and blind arrogance tells Akampana to go and find out only Ram's weakness. In giving a task to him, Ravan failed badly. Any organization works smoothly only when its leader is good at delegation or giving tasks to others.

But as a spy Akampana does his job really well - the reason I am not saying he did it exceptionally well is that he doesn't pay attention to Laxman, who, incidentally is Ram's biggest strength! But still he finds out all other strengths of Ram and though scared for his own life, reveals everything to Ravan without sparing his emotions. Truly a honest spy..

Now, another important quality of an efficient leader is the ability to take feedback in the right light. Here too, Ravan fails. Being the egoistic and arrogant person he is, he doesn't want the truth (which he in fact lucky to get), if it doesn't sound like music to his own ears! He doesn't want to hear his own servant praise his opponent. Instead of paying attention to Ram's strength and calmly contemplating how to deal with them, in his anger he physically assaults Akampana and would probably have killed him then and there, had Akampana not told him that he found Ram's weakness too. And again he simply latches on to the word "weakness" - "durbalta". He doesn't even hear the part about Sita also being Ram's strength or "Shakti".

Coming to Kishkinda Brothers. Bali's anger and ego is his weaknesses, while Sugreev's humility, knowledge and Hanuman's friendship would later prove to his strength.

So, I would say yesterday's episode was based on Strengths and Weaknesses.
