@Shirley good analysis of strengths and weakness. Yes SWOT is must. But it is possible when you accept you have some weakness too. Here Ravan is " I am Ravan"
@Gowri fear, fear is the one that stops us from doing many things. And you have very well analyzed how the fear manifests itself
@Sanju( hope you are fine with it) We need to understand one thing. We learn lot of things in school, college etc. But the process of learning is never complete. When it comes to knowledge you have to be always humble. You should never be all knowing. Ravan's problem was that. He never understood change. He always says he knows everything. When you stop the process of learning, then you are setting up yourself for destruction
Coming to Bali, as I understand the reason for such a killing by Ram was the reason Bali kept Roma Sugreev's wife in captivity. But let us see how SKR shows it
@DD please come. Earlier I just need to fill in the blanks, now I have to write poora poora analysis. Takes all time from me.

Today was another beautiful episodes that showed the parallels in Lanka, Kishkinda and Panchavati.

If we see in Lanka 2 women were involved. One Surpi, other Mandodari. Surpi is so happy that Ravan is going to bring Sita. She is happy that Ram will be crying for his soul mate and Sita will be her brother's slave. In come Mandodari and asks the most valid question. Your enemity is with Ram. What mistake Sita has done that you have decided to punish her. What does Ravan say. Don't talk where you have no purpose. He completely disregards his wife's sane advice.

Now come Vibishan. His younger brother. Wiser. Who can see things clearly and knows what his brother is doing not right. He humbly requests his brother not to destroy himself, not to destroy Lanka. And what does Ravan say. Do poojas you can only do that. We see utter disregard towards knowledge and wisdom from Ravan.

Ravan had a sane wife, wise brother. But in his ego, in his steadfastness, he only heard what he wanted to hear. Only what he was doing is right and what other doing were wrong and not worthy work. By ignoring knowledge and wisdom, succumbing to ego Ravan took first step towards self-destruction. He tells Akampana in the plane that he doesn't consider human a worthy opponent. And when he saw a human challenging him, there was a need to prove in him why he said humans doesn't matter to him to Lord Brahma. Once again line by Janak. Lift the Dhanush and prove your Bhakthi. Ravan wants to prove now his assumption of a human not worthy opponent to him proven right.

Come to Kishkinda. One brother comes running to meet his brother presumed dead. What does the other brother do. He calls his younger brother his enemy. Tells him it is not Mayavi but he did the biggest treachery. Here also we see Tara running to tell Sugreev is not like that. It was she who told him to be the king. But alas Bali in his anger, in his assumption ignores her. Pushes Tara the wise woman, his wife. And beats Sugreev. Sugreev unable to explain himself calls for Hanuman. Hanuman comes for his friend and takes him. Bali in his blind rage, judging by one incident makes an enemy out of a loving brother. He ignores his brother's pleading and pleas of his wife. He challenges how long Hanuman will protect Sugreev. By alienating his brother and wife, by allowing a third party to take charge of his brother, Bali too kept the first step towards his destruction. Now see how Ram handled Bharat with love. By giving up throne he got the eternal loyalty of his brother. One instance of losing trust sometimes can result in far reaching consequences. And as an elder brother it is the responsibility of the person that he takes every step to keep family together over and above his personal happiness, personal comforts.

I will once again discuss how Ravan, Bali and Ram differ in this aspect once the golden deer epi happens.

Now let us come to Ram-Sita. Sita wants Ram'ss glory to be spread in the world. And Ram says his glory is incomplete without her. In white lotus which stands for purity he writes her name too. Just like the purity of white lotus there love also stands the testimony of time. And look what he says. If by any chance they are separated he will make every effort so that they can meet again. An assurance for Sita that her husband will come for her and will liberate her. Here we see an inseparable hus-wife bond. A deep understanding of each other. Even in pain to take effort to reach other person. Hope that the other person will come for you. Akampana told Sita is Ram's power. What Ravan doesn't understand is, even when she is present Ravan cannot feel his power that is Mandodari. But even in absence Ram will feel Sita. That's the power of true love.

And one more thing Lanka had 2 women, Kishkinda also had 2 women, who is the second woman in Panchavati. Urmila not seen. But without her Lakshman cannot do his duty. Even being invisible she becomes the defense, she becomes the support system for Ram, Sita, Lakshman.

In Lanka we see Surpi and Mandodari at logger heads. Both having different ideals. And the one with right ideals weak.

In Kishkinda we see 2 women with same ideals. Both Tara and Ruma are together. But both cannot stand upto their ideals when a circumstance arrives

In Panchavati we see 2 independent women each with right ideals . Each doing her duty. And the brothers are kept a cohesive unit.

Weak women, women at logger heads destroys the foundation of the family. Strong independent women with free will and right values alone can keep a family together.

'Lift the dhanush and prove your Bhakti'
That line is so powerful. It keeps haunting me. It goes to prove the power of words, and the correct understanding of these words. Ravan's ego is what blinded him to everything.
Mandodari 👏👏 What a woman. At every turn, she advices her husband, as does Vibhishan. For them, his well-being is very important. They have his best intentions in mind. He doesn't take their advice, in his ego and lust.

Vali turns angry on Sugriva. See, here, rage blinds Vali. He doesn't listen to pleas here, and lets emotions control him. As I always say, mind over emotions; do not let your emotions rule you.

Ruma and Tara ⭐️ Women power, and yet, there was not a thing they could do.

Shrutha that lift the dhanush was one of the most powerful dialogues of SKR and bejoy anand delivered it with such power, it was a beauty.
@sanju I guess in the first page of this thread you will have links for previous symbolism threads. Else here it is
Link to first thread is in this thread first page itself.
Coming to Mandavi and Kaikeyi we were telling both represented Power. Kaikeyi used it for destruction, while Mandavi used it constructively as she was always guided by Sita. Power always has to be guided by Dharma or Knowledge else it becomes destructive was our take
Scientific theory I don't find the post now, but the title went something like Binary Theory.
Now coming to ego and selfishness. What is ego. Refusal to introspect, refusal to accept mistake and I know all and I do all right attitude.
What is selfishness, for your benefit use others, kill or maim or bring pain to others through words or actions so that your ego gets gratified.
Put blame of your actions on others. Emotional manipulation is the thing people who are selfish and who has huge ego do.
They degrade others, instill a sense of worthlessness in them so that these people never move forward.
And in business parlance when we get managers with huge ego, it is told that don't step on his or her ego. And for me to be frank it is very difficult to work with such people. I cant appease. And there are certain things I strongly believe in and I wont bend on them for anything. Defintely not to satisfy any ego maniac.
But my hubby is good at such things. He can traverse with people with huge ego. He will smile and nod for everything. They think he is fooled. Only I know, he nodes, but he will do only what suits him 😆😆

Ego and selfishness interesting... Sanju I have no idea of what shruthi has written.. Apologies shruthi.. 😆 I'll be stalking your posts wen am free..
I really don't know what to reply to this... But here you go...

Ego and selfishness both start from 'me', 'my', 'mine'.

You think about yourself only yourself... You don't mind hurting anyone or using anyone to accomplish your motive... Ravan meghnad is a classic example. I had loved the scene where ravan told megh that more than an ideal so he would want him to become an ideal warrior or senapati. I don't remember exactly.. But he had said smthn on similar lines.. Here ravan is selfish... On the contrary megh isn't. Instead he's duty bound.. Kya contrast h na shruthi.. I had watched the episode wen surpankha comes to Lanka with her nose chopped.. I had mentioned that day.. The contrast between the 3 men of Lanka. Ravan, meghnad, vibhishan in a single frame. I.e selfish, obedient and selfless respectively...

Now as I said "selfish". Selfishness always has one motive.. That is progress or development.. But only SELF development... As one accomplishes these steps and succeeds in them confidence comes.. After a substantial time it turns into over confidence.. This overconfidence takes the form of ego.. Then this ego becomes arrogance..

Ego is that advanced form of " me", "my", " mine", "myself".

Now what's selfishness and selflessness?

Ravan was selfish... He developed, progressed and made Lanka in gold..

Ram was selfless.. He chose exile and sacrificed the luxuries..

If ravan was offered the choices of exile and throne. What would have he done? He would have punished the person who was giving this choice instead of choosing exile...

Now the difference...

Ram chose the tough path. Worked selflessly. Followed dharma. He grew as a person... He ended up saving the society..

Ravan chose the easy path of ego and arrogance. Worked with selfishness. Chose adharma.. Made Lanka into gold but as a person he remained like a deep dark coal. He ended destroying his own dynasty..

Adharma always accompanies ego and selfishness.. Any harm to the society, to the nature and u have to pay back.

Dharma always accompanies selflessness.. However harsh is the journey you end up with positive results..

I hope this helps. 😃

That makes sense right.
You have to be guided by the correct knowledge to actually know how to harness the power. Janak and Sita's teachings are strong in Mandavi, she knows what to do, and which person to talk to to harness her Shakti.
Kaikeyi allowed Manthara to manipulate her, thus making her the destructive Shakti.
