In today's episode,my eyes were totally fixed on Lakshman, well thats no big deal they have always been😆
Lakshman not only sets an example of an ideal brother, but also of a real person.By this I mean,he wasnt Ram or the ideal, the God himself setting up righteous acts for humankind but was Lakshman, just like a normal person.A person, who was meant for a reason and a person with free will.Keeping aside he was sheshnaag or Lord's devotee,he was a person that made mistakes.Because he was faithful to what he believed. At times,he was wronged,he was misunderstood but what remained eternal was his dutifulness.Thats why I find him more approachable, because he was a person, who had acquired a status through his own efforts.
Coming to todays epi,who was a greater disciple of Ram and Siya than his own brother?.All the incidents taking place in vanvaas, have him either learning, understanding or asking. There are times he understood things way before Ram tells him.So humane!
Thats what I thought.

Btw,prone to my obsession over these two,Can I please ask how?Not for once did Urmi come to his mind, with all words prem, tyaag running all around him. How?
😆

Not just you Mili. I thought so too. Why is he smiling though? 😕 Didn't he just leave his wife and come? I don't get it.

@ Shruthi-the open ended promises is what i was talking about .Dasaratha was a king and the kings shld measure the words before they talk.their words affect the entire nation. Ravana's promise is out of guilt..it is like some parents who try to compensate their children with costly gifts for the time they weren't able to spend with them. Dasaratha's mistake and Ravana's mistake yield different results due to the Karma burden they shoulder. Intentions do play an important role in the results an action yields too. Dasaratha's intention was to reward a good deed and Ravana's was to compensate his guilt.

@DD I would say the title should be " Beginning". Beginning of new journey for Sira and beginning of downfall of Ravan.

See the interesting aspect. Dasrath also suffered for the vachan he gave. But why Dasrath vachan was not a crime, but Ravan's vachan is.
Dasrath gave vachan to a woman who has saved his life. And we can say kaikeyi deserved it. Well only thing is that Dasrath didnt knew his loving wife will use the vachans in such a way. Because if we see Kaikeyi was a level headed loving lady till Manthara manipulates her. Dasrath did a mistake by giving such open boons. He could have shown the gratitude then and there in some other tangible way.
Now look at Ravan. Shurpanakha by marrying vidyutjeeva has shown the impulsiveness. No thought in actions. And her so called Prem. Lo ho gaya. She is dressed good and looks quite content. She doesnt even feel much about the fact that her husband cheated her. To this impulsive woman Ravan is giving the vachan whoever she loves married or unmarried she will have that man. It is obvious this woman is going to have lust not love. Mandodari is worried. To satisfy her lust, she will manipulate things. She will bring vachan and lo and behold lanka ka satyanaash. Love for his sister has made Ravan blind. To have her the man who doesnt love her. See taking away a woman unwillingly is a crime, so is going behind a man and destroying his family life even if he is not interested in you( Aitraaz movie I had loved it for this theme). And Ravan has exactly given the word to do that.

Ram-Guha convo covered in individual post.

Another point I want to highlight is Jabali's words. Why would Ram come back. See hope is what keeps people alive. There should be an urge to come back. A need to meet your loved ones. A need of feeling wanted. And that is not got by following our loved one at times. But it is got by waiting for the loved one. And that the person who has gone, the need to come back arises from this person waiting back. To a great extend Lakshman could become Ram's emotional support in time of distress was because of his need to go back successful, to go back to that person waiting for him. Urmila was that hope that made Lakshman emotionally stronger.

@DD I loved your take Ram-Sita convo. I never thought of that loop. Yes CVs kind of closed that loop today.
