Originally, Lakshman only comforted Ram. They found comfort in each other. It was always Lakshman who could comfort Ram, and take lead when Ram couldn't. There is a reason they are two bodies, yet one soul. Even Sita Ma acknowledges it. But here, Sita Ma is Ram's soul. As it is Siya Ke Ram, Sita has to end up comforting Ram. They fail to show the beauty of Ram and Lakshman's brotherly love, and the greatness of that love. The way Ram is first for Lakshman, Lakshman is first for Ram. There are so many angles they could explore here, but they don't. Their relationship is one of the highlights of Sita's life 😕

He did come with them, but the makers chose to keep in the back so that Rama gets his time with his mother and brothers. Now he will enter when Ram and Bharat have their talk.

Well said😊This will probably be explored after Sita Haan in the show. Lakshman becomes Ram's support and confidence cheering his brother up and telling him that they would surely see Sita again whenever Shri Ram is engulfed by sorrow.
With Sita away in Lanka, the Ram Lakshman relationship can be highlighted in detail,

Excellent episode. Bharath's questions in the Dharam Sabha are questions we would ask in order to understand Shri Ram's actions.

What Ram says about Vishwa Kalyan is exactly what Sage Bharadwaj tells Bharath in Valmiki Ramayan when he returns back with Ram's Sandals. He tells Bharath that there is a bigger reason behind Ram's sojourn in the forest.

Ram's breakdown and Sita's comfort were nicely done especially with Sita reminding Ram of his own words to his father. It was heart wrenching though 😭 I also liked that she called him Dasharath Nandan. It was apt.

Bharath's sorrow and his points were well put across. Ram's counter arguments also shined. Shri Ram explains to the gathered ministers and Bharath that he can not just break a promise because his father was no more.
The ultimate truth was that king Dasharath did give his word and the boons were asked for. His death would not change that. And Ram would never do anything that would lead to the vachan getting broken.

Another great episode. The acting was commendable and I even enjoyed Ram's "I accept Bharath's arguments" mini suspense 😉

Did Rama say that even if Dasharatha is no more his words can't be broken? I didnt hear those. I felt Rama's argument that this is for universal welfare was out of place!!

Rama did it only for the promise of his father. Just checked Valmiki Ramayan too. Never once he mentions about humanity's welfare. He only speaks about his father's promise that needs to be kept at all costs.

If Rama was to say these words of his destiny, that is the easy way out. He always knew his destiny. Did he even once behave like that? Never. And would also mean he is not doing it for Satya and vachan-palan and to set an example to the common man(as he follows the king).

Vashishta says that he is like a father to Rama and Rama should obey his command. Even then Rama says that he cannot go back on his father's order. That was what Rama stood for. To lead from the front on Satya and Dharma.

Not to say I didn't like the episode. It was great. I felt they could have taken it more leisurely. Show some interactions between Sita and Kausalya and others.

Ramanand Sagar's Ramayan dealt with this in a great way. I think Manas brings Janaka in. Not Valmiki.

Really liked Rama's steadfastness and Bharata's love.

In SKR, Shri Ram only says that he cannot break the vachans as it would break the sanskaar his father brought him up with and break the rithi of Kousal Rajya. He did not elaborate on that unfortunately and countered Bharath 's point of Praha Kalyan with Samastha Kalyan.

The next argument of lok kalyan is actually told by Sage Bharadwaj to Bharath in Valmiki Ramayana.

Yeah. But for Rama to say that this is for lok kalyan is so so problematic for me. If he knew this was his destiny and for lok kalyan, does it means his argument of keeping his father's word is of lesser significance. Never. Rama took birth not just to destroy Ravana. But to show how to lead a dharmic life of truth and kartavya, love and tapasya.

Full disclosure. He is one of my ishta-daivams. It hurts when arguments are twisted.
