Again a wonderful post Shruthi di
True women are the epitome of strength... Today Sita and Urmila proved it that wives are the biggest strength of their husbands.. It's truly said behind every successful man there's a woman ... For a moment Ram and Lakshman grew weak but Sita and Urmila gave them the strength to handle the situations..

Not only Sita and Urmila but Mandavi too could make a difference in the way Kaikeyi thought ...

And Shanta was her father's strength, when there was no hope left in Ayodhya she took her decision...

Men might have more physical strength than woman but emotionally women are stronger...

Yesterday Madirakshi and Yukti both aced the scenes 👏👏
And day before yesterday Prithvi was the highlight⭐️

@savitha you are right. The modern day society is more leaned toward's the other end of the spectrum and believes they are doing what Sita, Urmila has done. I also have no qualms in telling I am a feminist, but I believe in co-existence not in superiority of one over other.
@supriya whatever I am telling is based on SKR. When Mandodari was faced with the choice of marrying ravan or saving her father she had one more option other than getting married to Ravan. Keep a sword to her neck and tell Ravan if he kills her father he wont get her, she will kill herself. She is the cause of the dispute. Instead of marrying a man of bad repute and live a life of compromises it is better to kill yourself. Ravan loses there. Outright. Even if he kills Maya he wont get Mandodari. But it is a tough choice. The real dharma is to take hit on yourself to protect dharma. Urmila suffers for dharma, Sita suffers for dharma. These women took decisions and sufferings for dharma. Panchali again suffers for dharma. Krishna takes the blame of war on his head protecting Arjuna. He takes Gandhari's curse. Real selflessness is willingness to burn, willingness to destroy oneself for the larger good of the society. Actions like that of Mandodari comes into picture when you have self preservence in your heart and you think you need to do duty.

Very well said Shruthi...that is why I like to read your penned down thoughts. They have flow based on reasonings...😊

@Shruthi: Beautifully written. I made a comment on the earlier days during sita questioning Gautham rishi that, I will be satisfied if the same sita speaks the required dialogue at the right place.
Yes, though I was not sure of such convo b/w Gautham rishi and sita I wrote those words. CV's maintained the character sketch.👏

Coming to the topic, Sita approached the subject with a clear mindset. She was prepared to defend her decision and well executed.

Somewhat I remembered sabarimala temple issue when sumitra told sita that Ram will be much worried if you join him in forest life. Is it not the reason our ancestors prohibited ladies from taking a hard path to visit the temple? Though the reason changed later on, in early days it was not a safer route.

A good episode and my appreciation to the CV's cast and crew👏

@Ramya Sabarimala as I understand is because of 2 reasons. One of course forest path. But the second most important thing is vrath for 41 days. A woman having her cycles cannot take vrath for 41 days continuously as we all know we don't do pooja, vrath and all during those days.
Also the jungle path can induce cycles early even if it is not due normally because of stress factors.
But currently I don't see people taking 41 days vrath and all. The reason they are telling now is that Ayyappa is Naimishika Brahamchari and a woman should not view such a brahamachari.
I feel like these so called ignorant people are equating Lord Ayyappa to the 4th grade men in our present society

Shruthi ,that is why I said that feminism has been distorted and overused in the society. For me The people who have really stood for feminism have been Sita, Urmila,Draupadi and even Rukmani from the scriptures and Kasturba Gandhi, Sarojini naidu, Rani Lakshmi bai, Maya angelou Agatha Christi, and the list goes on. These were women of strong convictions and forged in to their chosen path irrespective of the big challenges that would have tried to pull them down. Feminism is nothing more than the right to choose and the right path to choose...which is true for a man too, isn't it?In such a society where this equality exists ,there is no place for either superiority or inferiority of one gender above another.
@Supriya...having a different perspective makes life interesting.I have loved a rubic's cube for its multi dimensional appearance. so let us enjoy the different viewpoints.

@Shruthi: Yes, but when the rituals were made it was on a good note. Women safety measure was the priority but later on it was changed as per the patriarchy society.
Now, these reasons are no more valid but the practice still holds the place. Its difficult to come to a conclusion on such sensitive issues.
As a feminist I strongly feel we should not be neglected/avoided (in a way insulted) for such reasons but on an understanding level of custom and tradition, I am not fully against this ritual.
For me, god is everywhere and he/she is not going to stop us from approaching him/her. Why to fight with some human beings and try to enlighten them with wisdom where there is no brain in the first place.

@Savitha the sad part is we do not have such strong role models in our present society. We have in scriptures, we have during our freedom struggle too. Yes I too admire Rani Lakshmi Bai a lot. Even Meera Bhai was a strong lady of conviction. No one could stand in front of her Bhakti for Krishna.
But present day it is gender war. We have lost the knowledge somewhere which is there in our scriptures.
@Ramya I do not have any problems with respect to the tradition that was set for the reasons I cited. But to be frank if you read Malayalam newspaper atleast once a week you get comments the way I have posted. It really really irks you to be frank. It also shows the level of ignorance in our society.

@Shruthi: Beautiful words
"But present day it is gender war. We have lost the knowledge somewhere which is there in our scriptures."

I feel today's women are much more interested in external appearance than the internal beauty. Its completely my POV and I mention this w.r.t to the people I watch.

Thank god, I am staying away from such news most of the time. I can understand your views. You know, its election time here in TN, I am hearing most vulgar, unbearable words towards the lady candidates (most probable to be the contesting candidates) just by women themselves.
Then what equality we ask from men when we ourself are not upto the standard?
