Part 26: Glimpse of Ravaniyam

Disclaimer: As I mentioned already that the book Ravaniyam was based on the grammar book Agasthiyam, the content will be in Tamil with meanings in English. I have used my creative liberty in giving inner meanings.😊

In Kailash, Nandidev is astonished by the behaviour of Lord Mahadev. As usual he didn't understand his actions. As Nandidev has unidirectional vision, he just focused on mahadev.

Nandi: Matha, why mahadev gave the book to Vibhishana?

Parvati: Nandi, there is two ways of teaching. 1. Teach what to do; 2. Teach what not to do. Mahadev wants Vibhishana to know "what not to be followed" and the first way will be taught by Mahavishnu.

In Lanka, the entire crowd seems to be in much anticipation to know the upcoming hard rules.

Vibhishana: Paagam 1: Kadamai; Athiyayam 1: Manitha vitikal

Part 1: Duty; Chapter 1: Rules for common man

Komagan vaakke makkalukku veda vakku

Komaganukka thannaiye ezhakkavum vendum

Komaganaiye kuladeivamaga vazhipada vendum

Kotraavanai yethirthal thalai veetapadum

Meaning: The words of kings should be the vedas. People should be ready to die for the King. King should be treated as the clan deity. If you go against King, your head will be chopped off.

Indra mind voice "OMG! If this is the starting rule for common man, what about the rules for devas"

Rishis mind voice "How can we teach this in gurukul? Nowadays students are smarter than us"

Nandi: Matha, what is this happening? Are these rules?

Parvati: Nandi, don't just see the words get the inner meanings.

Karthi: Matha, shall I explain?

Parvati: Sure, Karthi

Karthi: Nandidev, Ko means king, the emperor in broad sense but it denotes god too.

The words from God are the vedas i.e To know God better understand the proper meanings of Vedas which is a way shown by himself.

We have to perform saranagati (self-surrender) to God.

Whichever form of god we follow with sincere devotion, that form will be our clan deity.

When you go against the dharm path i.e. against god, your ego will be destroyed.

Vaazhum Kaadum kotravanukkae sontham

Vaazhum vaazhvum thalaivanuukke sontham

Ennamum vakkum seyalum thinnamaganum

Immaillum marumaillum mannanai maravamaivendum

Meaning: Forest in which saints lives and the life they lead all belongs to King. Thoughts, words and the actions should be determined towards king. In this birth and in all coming births, they should not forget the King.

Prajas mind voice "No point to go to forest"

In Kailash

Karthi: The place where we live and the life we lead in this earth belongs to god. Your thoughts, words and actions should be focused (with bhakthi) to know god and to reach him (mukthi). Not only in this birth but in all births, should always remember about the god and the good things.

Nandi: Karthi deva, if the inner meanings are good can't it be a role model book for all?

Karthi: Nandidev, we have heard only 2 slogans, I can't tell whether the entire book has more hidden meanings. Moreover, no one will ever try to know the actual buried significant message from the rough, hard rules.

In Lanka

Mahadev: Okay, Vibhishana. I don't want you to disclose all the contents. You read it fully and get the core of it.

Vibhishana mind voice "Thank god, I am saved for the day"

Vibhishana: Thank you, mahadev.

Mahadev: Ravan, have you written about niyams for me too?

Ravan mind voice "yet to do"

Ravan: Mahadev, you know me well.

Narada: Ravan, that is why Mahadev is asking you?

Ravan : Narada...

Malyavan: Mahadev, who can draw rules for you? You are the rule maker.

Ravan mind voice "Even rule breaker"

Mahadev (with a smile): Okay, let me take this as the words of Ravan.

Ravan: Certainly, Mahadev

Mahadev: As long as you are there, you book will be praised 😊

Blessing Ravan and all, Mahadev vanished.

Mandodari mind voice "Why Mahadev said so? What he actually means?"

Ravan mind voice "wow, Mahadev gave the boon that my book will also be there for ever like me"

Ravan: Indra, I have written separate chapter for you.

Indra mind voice "Even one slogan is enough for me"

Indra: 😲

Kumbhakarna: Bhaiya, nothing for me?

Ravan: why not? Rules are there for brother's bond too.😃

Surpanaka plucked the book from Vibhishana and checked in Index for Sagothariniyam (rules for sister). She turned to that page and gets shocked.
