Now does the story of Bharat start only in Dwapar Yuga, or it begins in Tetrayuga. Asking because I am confused about stories in this front.

Valmiki got the gyan from narad and rendered the Ramayan before even it took place. He became a part in it during sita banishment.

@GM is not created by Vishwamitra, it was revealed to him first. That's what Brahma told yesterday and that is what even wiki states.

@Shruthi: I know there is a huge diff in time b/w yugs, but Shakuntala and dushyanta story seems not to fit with this GM concept. Not yet clear for me.
