It is said that you can worship God in various ways. Idol worship is just one form of worship. There are people who worship God without the idol, they see God in each and everything. Then there are people who believe doing seva of others in need is the greatest worship of God. And then, there are people who are able to communicate to God just like they are communicating to a friend. So to get knowledge you can choose any form of worship suitable to you.
And it will be good if you try to understand these three personalities and their way of worship to God. Because they are regarded as Lord Vishnu's favourites
Prahalad has worshipped Lord in Niraakar form. He is called the greatest devotee of Lord Vishnu as he could see Vishnu in each and every thing
Hanuman is the greatest worshipper of Vishnu is Seva Bhav. He understood his Lord and even without telling have done what his Lord wanted.
Arjun is the greatest worshipper of Vishnu in Sakha Bhav. He only wanted God to be always with him and didn't had any expectations from him.

Agree idol worship is just one form of worship... Various examples in our epics have proved it. Like you said about Prahlad, Hanuman and Arjuna...
Prahlad worshiping Lord Vishnu fascinates me the most... He had adversities surrounding him... It's not easy to go against your own father... Plus it's always your parents who teach u the way of living and children mostly follow the path paved by their parents ... But Prahlad knew that his father was wrong and kept his ardent devotion for Lord Vishnu alive...
It also shows that faith is the strongest pillar of worship... It's his faith in God that Lord himself came on the earth to protect him..
The extent of Hanuman's devotion makes us worship him as well ... I have heard many times that if you want to seek Lord Ram you should first take Hanuman's name...
Arjuna 's worship is selfless.. I loved your last line when u said he didn't expect anything from Lord just wanted him to be beside him...

nice discussion girls, btw i think purush is nothing without prakriti. shiva becomes shava, a dead body without shakti. her presence, her kripa is which makes him shiva, shakti is the i-kaara which turns shava into shiva. i think it's same with bramha and vishnu too.

@arjith to express herself shakthi needs Shiva or rather prakriti needs purush. So in a nutshell both are important none superior none inferior
