I am here to witness the magic an actor can create through his/her acting skills...

And also want to sample the creative excellence woven so skillfully by the SKR team...

No expectations as I believe if you start with pre conceived notions half the fun is gone as you keep an account of expectations met/not met..
going to enjoy the show...

Hi Guys!! I am new to this forum and so let me introduce myself here!!

What is your name (or what can we all call you)?
You can call me dplee or simply dp!!

Will SKR be your first mythological show or have your watched others before?
I have soft corner for mythology since me childhood. I think i will never get bored with Sagar's Ramayana and BR Chopra's Mahabharata. Jai shri hanuman, Srikrishna, last starplus Mahabharata, you name it I have watched all of them!! I love reading and watching anythinh mythological.

How much do you know of Ramayan going into this show?
Well, I know pretty much about Ramayana just like an average Indian knows.

What is one thing about Ram and/or Sita that you want to see in this show?
I always like mythological tales if it shifts from the usual perspective and give POV of another character. So it is the reason I was waiting for Siya ke Raam for an ages. I will love to see an independent Sita just as they are currently showing.

What do you wish to see from Ashish and Madirakshi so they do full justice to their characters as Ram and Sita?
I think Ashish has done lots of homework to be Ram which is evident in every scene and Madirakshi looks as mythical as Janak-nandini. However, I would love to see how they handle the banbas

What are some of your favorite mythological shows that you've seen in the past?

I cant be bias here guys, I love each of them
Last but not least, what do you want to see in this show, that has not been covered in any other adaptation of Ramayan before?

The story behind every character who are neglected in the original one like Urmila, Laksman, Jatayu, Bibhisana and ofcourse Soorpanakha

Absolutely not! I love watching all mythological shows, especially Ramayan. I have watched so many different adaptations (Japanese animated version, Ramanand Sagar, NDTV Ramayan, etc.) I also love watching Mahabharata, Krishna...the list goes on!
How much do you know of Ramayan going into this show?

Not going to lie, I'm a total Ramayan geek! I know so much about Ramayan that it's almost kind of sad how excited I get about this kind of stuff - but it's Sri Ram, so it's totally fine! Haha!
What is one thing about Ram and/or Sita that you want to see in this show?

I've noticed already that they seem to be doing a good job talking about the things that they are not talking about usually in many different forms of Ramayan - Shanta (which is not usually mentioned), going into detail about Dasharath's vow to Kaikeyi's father, etc. I really like how they have started to portray the characters. It is very different, and I hope they continue like this! I am hooked already! I am so excited every day to watch, then I spend of the rest of the day moping because the next episode comes only tomorrow! Lol!
What do you wish to see from Ashish and Madirakshi so they do full justice to their characters as Ram and Sita?

I hope they have that divinity. That's most important for me. I don't mind the filmy stuff that many people are against - in fact, I have to say I like it a little! ;) But I want to see Ashish and Madirakshi as Sri Ram and Mata Sita. I was able to do that with Arun Govil and Deepika, Gurmeet and Debina...so I hope that Ashish and Madirakshi will do the same!
What are some of your favorite mythological shows that you've seen in the past?

All adaptations of Ramayan. Unlike lots of people, I am not too picky on what mythological show I watch - as long as it is mythological, I love it! I am more into how the characters are portrayed. People might not always stick to what we know, but it is just different adaptations of the same story. Everyone worships Sri Ram and Mata Sita, Arjun and Lord Krishna, Mahadev and Parvati, and it is the differences that we haven't heard of that makes our religion unique.

Basically, long story short, I love all mythological shows, whether they are more "filmy" or more "devotional." I think any actor is blessed to play such a divine role, and the people that are playing this role are telling the story of Sri Ram and Mata Sita, which is something I respect no matter how the show is.
Last but not least, what do you want to see in this show, that has not been covered in any other adaptation of Ramayan before?

Already I am so impressed with this show! Like I said, they have covered lots of things I don't normally see in other adaptations! Keep going! I am excited to see Ram-Sita interaction in the show! Can't wait :)

Devon ka Dev Mahadev
How much do you know of Ramayan going into this show?
Born in orthodox Brahmin family I think I know about Ramayan
What is one thing about Ram and/or Sita that you want to see in this show?
Lord Rama vowed to one word one arrow and one wife

What is your name (or what can we all call you)?
Hello! I'm Agastya. 😃(my nickname is Keetanu 😆)
Will SKR be your first mythological show or have your watched others before?
I've always had interest in mythology. More so in Mahabharata Than Ramayana but I've watched both the Ramayanas by Sagar Arts (though I was a kid when the 2008 one was aired and not even born when the first one was on-air 😆) and BRC Mahabharat as well as the new one by Swastik.
How much do you know of Ramayan going into this show?
Well I know the basic story like most hindu kids do. I've recently developed an interest in Ramayana because of Amish Tripathi's new book so I'm trying to know more about the epic.
What is one thing about Ram and/or Sita that you want to see in this show?
I want to see the humanity in the Gods. I want to see their happiness, their sorrows, their struggles, conflicts, their resentment, their passions, I want to see them laughing hard and crying hard. For once I want to see Ram and Sita as humans and not the ever smiling composed gods as they are always portrayed.
What do you wish to see from Ashish and Madirakshi so they do full justice to their characters as Ram and Sita?
I hope they read and research a lot about their respective characters and the story and try to understand their characters. When I look at them on-screen I should see Ram and Sita and only Ram and Sita not Ashish or Madirakshi.
What are some of your favorite mythological shows that you've seen in the past?
Well BRC's Mahabharat is not exactly my favorite but it's pretty close. I haven't seen a mytho show good enough to be my favorite. Maybe Siya Ke Ram can change that 😉
Last but not least, what do you want to see in this show, that has not been covered in any other adaptation of Ramayan before?
As I've mentioned above I want to see the humanity in characters. Other than that I would like to see innovative and interesting war sequences not just in terms of VFX and action but also strategy. Instead of Just showing That Ram fires some astra and boom! every asura in the circumference dead! I actually want to see him make strategies overcome the odds. Also in the later part after Sita's banishment all the adaptations I've seen have mostly focused on luv-kush birth and further story. None of them(AFAIK) have actually focused on Ram-rajya, the supposedly perfect empire. I want to know what changes lord Rama actually made in the society and how did he create the perfect empire.I would also like to know about the secondary characters like Sita's sisters and how they coped with the situation in Ayodhya during the exile. At last, I hope the romantic scenes are handled subtly. 😃

P.S I've joined this forum because of the show and to have discussions about the Ramayana. Hope to have a good time and make new friends. Cheers! 👍🏼

Hey everyone,

Its been a while since I logged on IF but this new show SKR has pulled me back to the forum. Hope to reconnect with old MB friends and make new SKR friends as we discuss this new show.

More than religion, my interest in SKR/Ramayana is to stay connected with my roots and be able to understand the wisdom and life lessons from this great scripture of ours.

What is your name (or what can we all call you)? You can call me Preet
Will SKR be your first mythological show or have your watched others before? I have seen others before.
How much do you know of Ramayan going into this show? Just the basics of what I have heard. Ram and Lakshman went into exile, ravan's sisters nose was cut off, ravan kidnapped sita, ram kills sita.
What is one thing about Ram and/or Sita that you want to see in this show? Honestly not sure, I love seeing ram on screen and sita is adorable, so any of there scenes together will be awesome! But for now, can they meet already!
What do you wish to see from Ashish and Madirakshi so they do full justice to their characters as Ram and Sita?
Nothing, they are doing great! Just dont want them wearing too much makeup, which is going great so far!
What are some of your favorite mythological shows that you've seen in the past?
I loved Mahabharat on star plus which had started in 2013. Maharana Pratab was one of my favorites as well.
Last but not least, what do you want to see in this show, that has not been covered in any other adaptation of Ramayan before?
Not sure about others, but this one has a kind of magic that attracts you to it. Especially the choosing of the cast and mostly ram and sita do justice to there characters and nothing is over the top. Also, the dialogues are not cheesy at all.
