Cause in SriDevi story, he doesn't go back to his ex. Meaning in this case, he wouldn't go back to Mauli. You know that right?

Mauli represents Mona Kapoor (1st wife who got cheated on) and DD represents Sri Devi (2nd wife).

And Boney stayed strong and madly in love with this 2nd wife, no proof needed there.

So you're saying that the original story was that Kunal would stay with his second wife meaning Nandini?

i hold 3 entities responsible for the mess

1) The channel who clearly interfered with the storyline and also pressurized the makers to bring trps which i think not only resulted in butchering of original story which was to have been a more sensible, slow and careful take on whole thing to an unexplained and rushed up EMA. To add it all these divine angles were also probably thrown in to add spice for trps,

2) The maker/writer. Firstly for really giving in to the trp pressure and not continuing with the pace of her story. Then secondly for poorly executing with what she had in hand. Like she could have changed a things or few here and there. Basically keep the sensitivity of the plot and for all the characters. Instead she made a mess out of her own creation and characters. They were (especially Kunal character) were like totally thrown under the bus just to bring in the drama and spice.

3) The general tv audience. Hope this is not taken as some offense. I am not talking about Silsila audience or us as such but tv audience in general who probably not patient enough or ready enough for such concepts. Online/Web series audience are much more open to them. Hence concepts like Kehne ko humsafar hain ( hope i can mention and its not breaking forum rules) work to extent that its now even coming for second season. Again, my this point shall not be taken as anything else just to be clear.

The ones at lost were imo:

1) Audience like us who wanted to see something different and mature and complex take on things. We could have agreed or disagreed to it and have our own opinions but would have at least understood it.

2) The actors who got short end of stick. They also like audience signed up for something that was to be complex and exciting and deep but ended up with playing these messed up and poorly written or turned out characters and story. Even had to endure all the bashing and hate which was so so unwarranted and not deserved. Kudos for them to sticking by the end and those who did.

I get what you're saying, but that doesn't mean Mauli has to remain single just because Mona Kapoor did. They could actually introduce a lead opposite her (which they did - Ishaan).

So that's all I'm saying.

lets wait for gajra ending...

actually gajra is very close friend of mona...so she is not able to do justice in story to kunal and nandini..its very visible in writing..her hate for boney clearly shows in her writing style...

I am talking of sympathies with the character Mauli.
If Aditi were playing Nandini she would get no sympathy no matter how powerful that performance was. Its the character that matters.

truth is always bitter...but thats the fact...DD is good...i love her...worst choice is nandini...hope she choose wisely

what popularity u guys are talking abt...in TV world story...plot n execution is popular...if popularity counts...alot of shows would have been no 1 due to popularity..this is no BW...trps matters...nowadays even popularity doesn't count in BW

sorry...its not characters that matters...its the writing of character that matters...

if writing is poor...everything goes wrong

I agree with everything you said Strike.

I will say, the audience who was upset at the EMA, did tend to calm down when a lead was introduced opposite Mauli.

Had they shown this to begin with, that yes Mauli won't end up alone, I think everyone would have received it better.

Because that confrontation scene is what hit everyone in the feels and got everyone riled and emotional.

Everyone empathized with, cried with, hurt with Mauli.

Had they introduced a possible lead opposite her, people may have been more patient and open to KuNan.

Short answer: No

Long answer: nope, not at all. While I can agree that to some extent vierwers not accepting the concept and TRP being low might have had impacted and the writers were forced to change the script. But the main problem of this show wasnt even WHAT they were showing but rather HOW the were presenting it.

So okay they changed the script because of popular demand...but did they do that well? The writing, both pre the script change and post, has been consistantly bad. Apart from few initial episodes, which storyline was well done? Answer is none. KuNan were rushed (rain dance and divinity. Ugh) Mouli was sidelined (neither Kunal nor Nandini spare a moment of thought for her. That shows how unimportant Mouli as a character was for the two other characters and the writers) Kunal was butchured beyond redemption (the way he treated Mouli and became Nandinu pujari. That wasnt love or EMA. that was psychotic obsession), Nandini's whitewashing(arranging birthday party and then letting go of Kunal for the kid, onky to get married to, him once he accussed Mouli of kying. She didnt even talk to Mouli to confirm)...all of them were weak.

I once made a post on this forum asking whether the maker were too arrogant to change their story or too incompetant to execute what they wanted to make.
The anwer now is very loud and clear: they are incompetant.
All the abouve mentioned things could have worked if they put little brain in their writing. Instead of showing KuNan's 1000th date, the could have shown them having a talk about Mouli. Instead of the bday drama they could have shown Kunal.and Nandini apologising to Mouli (which btw never happened). Instead of playing bechari Nandini card by making Rajdeep kidnap Nandini, they could have shown KuNan feeling guilty and realizing the have lost everyone who once loved them. Instead of Mouli thinking she made a mistake by keeping Mishti away friom Kunal, they could have shown him acknowledge the mistake he made by accusing Mouli...and so on. But no...writers wanted to stick to their divine live and divine lovers. They wanted usto to feel bad for the cheaters thats why Rajdeep was brough back, the bday party done. But itfor wasnt what those characters needed. They needed personal.growth. we didnt get that. And thats why this show looks like a mess.

Its not the viewers who are shipping and destroying the show. Viewers ship. They always have. Its not a new concept. The show is a mess because the writers cant write a decent scene. There are no consequences of acrions or storylines. Not just past actions, but past relationships are also easily forgotten. But the viewers dont forget past storylines. Which results that the characters and the viewers arent in the same page making a show a terrible mess.
