If only Gajra understood that most people watch the show for Mauli and she is the essence and protagonist of the show. She has always had a "white" character, compared to the Kunal-Nandini both, who viewers failed to identify or even sympathize with. Had Gajra kept the show Mauli-Centric and just shown her journey to love/trust again, it would have been such a great show and gotten Gajra the TRPs she was looking for.
Hopefully Mauli's guard with Ishaan comes down soon and they don't rush Mauli falling head over heels only in the last week. I mean, she did break down and tell him at Nandini's barsi prayer, everything that happened with Kunal-Nandini, so ab kya chupana usse?
In fact, in today's episode when Mauli said she was leaving, I thought to Ishaan ke paas jare thi. Only later to be told she was in surgery, in the OT *facepalm*

See as a sufferer of such betrayal by hands of Nandini and Kunal - there was so much they could have shown through Mauli (and even Nandini, if Drashti did not have reservations for playing the true color of a cheater character).
When you break someone's trust so closely - and if you are really a good hearted person (that Nandini likes to believe she was), there is a certain amount of guilt you live with. That guilt cannot and should not let you just enjoy your new found love. So, the first issue I had with this show was how they wrote Nandini. I think (personal opinion) Drashti wanted to play this glamorous lover, but not a negative shade, which is why her character was never really developed . Because, hey if you cheat on your best friend's husband after you have been helped so much by her, seriously, you are selfish and conniving - and maybe that is what they should have shown. Or if you are seriously that tyaag ki murat, then they should have taken the route the other way - where she has feelings for Kunal but suppresses them (truly, for more than 24 hours), and we get a complicated tale of unfulfilled wishes. But they did not go either way with Nandini, and now we are facing the repurcussions till date.
After leap - there was so much Mauli could have been explored. Really, does not she have trust issues, confidence issues? Technically her trust on Ishan (when she was so badly cheated by her friend) also should have been explored. Like how come she has become so "trusting" of a friend? Would have been great if they went that route where they showed that she cannot trust anyone now (is slightly insecure), and has confidence issues, and Ishan slowly , as a friend brought her out of that shell. No problem if they even had some arguments in the beginning about that - normal people argue and fight.
Eventually with Kunal's coming back - couple it with trying to move on because you want to and create more complex layers.
Instead they went the stupid route - :(. Gajra would have gotten TRPs if she stuck with a core story - although late. I guess Indian TV writers get too impatient, and then add teenagery romance - to please audiences. And like you I hope they dont do that with Ishaan, but we have three weeks and change. Lets see!!!
