I think Mauli just wanted to celebrate Kunal's birthday in advance to end their camp journey with a happy memory. It was so weird to see her that way. She felt guilty seeing Ishaan's call and not only did she ignore it she put the phone in her bag. Then went back to looking at Kunal with her moonstruck expression.

We don't know yet. Maybe she will call him later and tell him about it. Maybe she thought Ishaan will be hurt or will not like it. The weird part was not just that she ignored the call. She ignored the call and seemed very taken with Kunal looking at his birthday surprise, which was this happy birthday Kunal poster. Who knows how she managed that. It must've taken pre-planning.
