why introduce Ishaan character?

I don't understand why the writers introduced Ishaan's character. What is the purpose of his character if in the end Mauli will hurt him, deceive him and go back to Kunal? I can't understand what his purpose is supposed to be?

Is he supposed to be a plot device to reunite the other two?

It seems his character was unnecessary. I hope the writers don't make him into a villain, somehow.

Ishaan is just a character to spice up the drama...

lets not believe articles...the article might meant staying single and co-parenting...its so obvious that mauli is still deeply in love with kunal,she is a sensitive girl according to her love happens only once and she loved kunal way too much...but yes i do agree mauli should not have said yes for marriage in hastily...its unfair to ishaan

I just don't understand why the writers will head this way. This is my first real Indian serial, so I don't know if wives and husbands are always supposed to get back together; ;in US, clearly, we have none of this take husband back no matter what. Believe me, some soap operas have tried this and they are off the air.

It's all the more insulting because supposedly Gadjra Kottary, the writer🤢, has said she is trying to write a progressive love story. Dear Lord, if this is progressive, I hate to see regressive.

It's not fair to Ishaan. And Mauli's character is really being damaged. It is not okay to accept Ishaan's marriage proposal knowing she loves someone else. It's deceptive. I guess now Mauli will be grey and then stupid for going back to the man who thinks of her as 2nd best. Well, who knows how long before she falls to 3rd😲

Despite of All hinting towards pathetic end of Mauli back Kunal etc 😆 I still carry on Hoping Ishaan ❤️ successful to Get his Love towards him 😛 his mauli n Mishti ❤️ ..overcoming obstacles ⭐️ not a plot Device 😉 ...

It a very common trick that ITV uses time and again to introduce this perfect third wheel whose job is show all the bad qualities of the lead person and how perfect he/she is with the main lead but then their job in the end to unite the two main leads. In BP, they had introduce Dr Akram to bring Zoya and Aditya together. I thought in this show it would be different because of the obvious circumstance but apparently not.

True! He's just a 3rd wheel who is being used by Mauli and others. I wan't a new girl for him cos he deserves someone who actually loves him. Also, him and Mauli hav no chemistry..they look like siblings.
