DD is a good actor, she was good in Silsila too. She has done what the CVs wanted, yes and she did a good job at that.

nandini kept changing everyday.. change aah you have touched a beautiful topic . I dont believe the character was inconsistent . Sorry dear .

one day she cared about mauli and the other day she was thinking about kunal and herself.. cvs have tried their best to whitewash the ema and nandini too to some extent..

viewers didnt fail to recognise her character but writers failed to execute her well.. i dont understand why people keep giving excuse about her upbringing.. half of indian villages have such atmosphere.. its a male dominating society.. thats not an excuse for being a narcissist..

When did i say its ok to be a narcissist . Its not . I Just explsined that she is a covert narcissist . Kindly read my explanation .i said i loved the portrayal of a covert narcissist . I never said that yes nandini should be proud of being a narcissist. Being a narcissist is a very selfish trait .

i agree she wasnt a villanious vamp but she was grey (that too in my head) . for writers she was a naive girl turned into a selfish lady for her happiness but nowhere they wanted to show her an out an out narcissist..

She is not an out and out narcissist . She is a covert narcissist . Covert is a different entity of narcissm . I will give a breif on difference . An out and out narcissist would be rahul from kuch kuch hota hain . That feeling of so full of himself arogance and i, me ,myself wala feeling . They know they love only themselves. But covert people love themselves but they are too pretentious to accept it which makes it dangerous .EG ,: The Joker By Heithledger

dd is gone so i was intially avoiding this topic but it resurfaced on the first page so thought of replying..

just because one character played by dd has not been appreciated by viewers , we cant say she is a bad actor or something.. she is a good actor but to prove that we dont need to justify her character

Again Did Not Justify Her Character . Did i say nandini keep it up or did i Say anything about the instances in the show . I liked dds portrayal of a woman who was wrong .The portrayal was such that it was in sync with a covert narcissist . i did not justify it .What she did is wrong . But i tried to dissect the why of It . Understanding The Why Helps In Understanding The Character . But That Does Not Make RighT Wrong .

Eg : A Man RApeD His Wife Whike He Was Drunk .

Why He Raped ? He Was Drunk . Does ThAt Makes His Act Right . Nope .

But CVs weren't that deep, no where did they show Nandini as narcissistic. No where did they mention, she was selfish rather she was shown to be wishing good upon Mauli and leaving Kunal for her, why will a selfish person do that.

I think this is were i would say cvs made a blunder .A narcissist is easy to understand not a covert one. The pretentiousness of a covert human being is unimaginable .They are not the typical villains who give ott expression all the time . They are different . They cant beleive it that they are bad so when some one shows them a mirror they get scared and try to potray themselves as sacrifice ki murthi . They cant accept that they are bad . Cvs made 1 blunder . They should have shown this struggle of nandini . The good and bad within . But i think by the time they started alter ego scene nandini the characters had lost all the sympathies of the viewers

They should have worked on Nandini's background a little more. We never knew what sort of upbringing she had, we saw her from the abuse angle. Nothing about her recovery was shown. DDs potential was rather wasted, the trauma, the recovery, nightmares and eventually Kunal being her support and thus her inclining towards him would have made us at least understand KuNan. But CVs just destroyed everything, rushed into it and it made no sense.

I don't get kunal though . For me nandini was understandable . ( not relatable ) . But kunal and kunal were( no offence to shakti ) . But if they had shown kunal growing up with alot of father issues atleast it would have helped because then it would have been abt a man and woman who got abused in child hood connecting in an emotional level .His alexithymia about mauli being pregnant ( emotional numbness ) I don't think I could understand him at all . He should have been ...😕

I really hope mauli gets her happily ever after because she does not deserve a pig like kunal . Neither does nandini . Infact no one deserves a man like him who skips from one woman to another without even looking at his family .

Nandini seemed like a gray character to some, but even that wasn't implied in the story, we all made it up to somehow understand her. Now, she's been killed and there's nothing more we can do.

I appreciate DD but Nandini wasn't executed well.

I would say kunan perse was not .

I m new in the forum.i m a fan of drashti dhami since dil mil gaye.she is a great actress.i dont watch silsila regularlly but sometimes i watching.i hate also nandini character but i think only dhrasti can justify the nandini character.🥱

Most of the people bashing 2 makers and actors that they what they showed in the show is wrong i agree .even my mom also say same thing.but i dont think they show something wrong they just show the true face of our society.these type of prevert people exists.and i dont think drashti take a wrong decision to choose this role.it just a fictional character and every true sctir should do different type of role 2 come out from their comfort zone.

Ofcourse nandini character is negative.she is a vamp.nandini vamp.hote hue dikhato thi vo kitni bechari hai.these type of perfomance can give only dhrasti dhami.negativity mn bhi positivity dikhana its a art of dhrasti dhami.😊

All about drashti dhami is a wonderful actress.she justified the role of nandini with her great perfomance👏

Sadly people like Nandini exist very much so in real life. If they are able to get something they always wanted they go ahead and take it and it doesn't matter who they hurt in the process. Nandini never gave a damn about Mauli. She dumped her for Rajdeep, and when she saw Kunal she liked his caring nature for Mauli and she really wanted that so when he gave her attention. Whoa she won the lottery...she took him with open arms and to hell with Mauli. We all have heard of women whose husbands had affairs with their best friends, or cousins, etc. these are the Nandinis in our society. And these selfish women never change because they see no wrong in their behaviour. So it's good that nandini died because she would not have repented ...it's not in her nature. Maulis mother never liked Nandini and she told Mauli in one episode that nandini will betray and hurt her again in the future like she did during Rajdeeps story.. and it happened.

She would repent only if she loses something . Because that's when a narcissist repents . But again these things are discussed a lot in the forum . These things are glaringly obvious . I was discussing about the not so obvious aspect of nandini . She is so layered to dissect her . That's what I attempted in doing . 😛

yes these women seem to lack that level of moral development that most women do have. We as women know that we should not look at or even have the most remote romantic thoughts about our friends boyfriends or husbands as it's a place that we should not go . Most of us as well will just steer clear of married men no matter how attractive they are or even if they approach us. Whereas some women will not let that get in the way..if they want a man even if he's married even to their best friends they go ahead with the relationship. In most of our ITV drama serials we see our heroines sacrificing their love and happiness for their friends or family...they come up as good wonderful women ..and we cry with them and when they do get their true love we applaud them. These are usually very moral decent women..so it was hard for many viewers to accept nandini and we could not like her...because her character traits were not likable or acceptable to us. But Drashti did a good job with the character Nandini ...

Thats what the topic maker was trying to say.Though Nandini was grey Drashti played nandini beautifully
