Understanding Nandini

Nandini has been given an oscillating character: she loved one day and runs one day but if you notice she is always led by others: Kunal led her to love, calling it divine, baba affirmed it, then Mauli asked him
Back and later Radhika... now Kunal is back. Basically Nandini doesn't think of anything or make decisions of her own. She is always following the lead. Maybe years of abuse have impacted her psyche and thinking? So she has a judgment. But she doesn't Use it!

Kunal on the other hand is more in charge with her. Adamant to be with ber. She kinda is ready to let go. So I feel there is a guilt somewhere but it hasn't surfaced out in the newness id things.


If Kunan are together this guilt could be played upon, as could be her over dependence on others. Thoughts?

I don't think makers thought so much in-depth abt this character... and no, no guilt is coming cuz the way this relation is portrayed as not galat n divine

i agree with @ruhi , nandini's pysche is not given any importance in the show.. they could have made a damn good plot out of it but naahhh.. she was shown like this from earlier episodes.. not believing mauli and still calling her best friend was the best thing to present her actual character .. she is shown with no opinion of her own from the starting episodes.. it has nothing to do with her years of abuse . and i really feel nandini has no layers and depth to her character which is the biggest flaw in the writing...

Yes I could see it that way. Layers to a character doesn't have to be stated clearly all the time. You can make some assumptions based on what you know about a character. Yes they are still assumptions but when we see a person in their context and not just individually, their behaviors make more sense. And I agree with you in the sense that the abuse could have definitely played a role in her being super dependent and easily influenced by whoever voice is the loudest. And since she loves Kunal, of course she's going to listen to him even more.
And about not believing Mauli.. I agree that was very shitty on Nandani's part. And if I was Mauli's place I would have also been very upset because sexual assault is such a sensitive topic and you should always believe the victim first and then see if it's correct. Anyways, I do understand where the frustration is coming from. But, I think Nandani being very naive and Rajdeep being a very dominant personality and on top of that the societal backlash of an engagement breaking for Nandani could have led her to not believe her. Idk I'm also just trying to understand Nandani.
You can't deny that the writing is subpar at best. None of the things that should be talked about are being talked about. Kunal and Nandani live in fantasy land where them being together will automatically solve everything in their life. But let's see what happens after they get married.
