The main reason why people hate Kunan with a passion is because the portrayal of these two has been extremely confusing till now. Makers have been trying hard to whitewash them as divine lovers but failing miserably. People aren't able to connect with them because their characters are neither grey nor negative. It's outright confusing because they are trying to portray them as positive. Why would people think of them as positive characters when they are clearly cheaters without showing any guilt? Sari galti PH ki hai they aren't able to show Kunan the way they want to and hence this backlash.

My pov is little different from you i think story was always about three characters.Although i agree there way of presentation was not good enough with all romanticizing the affair but i think cvs were aware that mauli will be liked becoz that's why they never tried to show any fault in mauli.But they kept on showing positive side of mauli and never sidelined her.Now i feel the nandini and kunal affair part was rushed becoz they never wanted ppl to connect to nandini and kunal affair they just wanted to show the consequences of EMA.so they made fall nandini and kunal with jet speed and showed physical intimacy so soon.If they wanted to show nandini or kunal journey they would hv tried to connect to nandini or kunal to audience by deeper emotional level connection.Or if they wanted to show nandini and kunal in postive light they would hv not shown physical intimacy so soon and they would hv stretched the resistance part more but they didn't.They were in hurry to show after affair consequences i believe so.And kunal and nandini were meant to be grey although writing and screenplay with bgm deewana and rohani arzoo spoiled it and it camme out that they are glorifying EMA.

Even I thought that Mauli was the fragile women who these two were trying to protect. Promos made them look deep, sensible, understanding.

But turned out these two were the most shallow characters, I have seen till date. They didn't protect Mauli at all, they didn't even attempt to protect Mauli that hard. It is Mauli who is the strongest of them all. The promos were highly misleading about characterization. Story made Mauli the ultimate winner.

The writing of this show has been horrible for EMA. It seems it focuses on Mauli's journey and to show that this was the ground work. Probably makers didn't realize this or they actually wanted this to turn out this way.

For audiences kunan are negetive becoz they are cheating but yeah presentation and writing of characters were not good so ppl were not able to connect to their character but what they are showing now that mean kunan were supposed to be grey or negetive only that's why they rushed kunan falling for each other as i think they were in hurry to show after EMA consequences.

Seriously I don't mind watching kunan now if they free mouli to live her own life. I mean I can't watch their romance anymore but their story is okay for me but I would love to watch mouli from now on. If they could shape her like anandi's it will be wonderful track. All 3 I can still watch but if there is no mouli then there is no show for me. I am not asking another man in her life too soon but for the story to progress it will be needed.

Characters in the story turned out to be very different from the characters of the promos. I think one of the reason they never showed Mauli's perspective in the promos because they probably wanted it to be a surprise for the audience. They wanted to show Mauli's journey actually but promoted to show KuNan's journey or EMA.

I too think so the writer wanted to showafter EMA consequenes so they kept it surprise for audience that's why once writer of show told in one of her tweet that mauli is her dream character something like that.First promo was to confuse audience and if they would hv wanted they could hv changed the story to justify kunan affair or could hv changed the story just for trps becoz it was big buzzet show but they went with EMA angle becoz writer already had something in hr mind but screenplay was poor of silsila.The writer had written so many strong show like astitav where protagonist was cheated by husband inthat too she didn't justify EMA she just showed the consequences of EMA and in balika vadhu she made anandi moved on when her husband cheated on.So i think they wanted to surprise the audience.

EMA and cheating on your partner doesn't mean Grey character😆

I think makers tried hard to portray EMA as paak rishta because they were in dilution that Indian viewers will accept any nonsense on the name of god and babas but after facing severe backlash on every social medias ,they got a true picture that people watch this show for it's storyline and characters and not for their favorites so now channel must have to handle it carefully and as they already knows that majority viewers are watching it for Mauli 's journey who they can relate till some extent so now for the sake of trp and to save their sinking ship at sleepy time slot, they decides to go with viewers choice and I hope they have already taken call about whether they wants to portray kunan grey or completely black.
