Hello dear all😳 ...
Been a while since i logged in IF... Recently Silsila is the only show that has caught on my interest... My friends and i started watching it ever since the first episode aired.
The show seemed different.. the initial promos were subtle yet impactful and above all the theme the makers dared to come up with -> "EMA"
while here and there most shows deal with the subject of an extra marital affair, Silsila -the show as a whole is dealing with it and its consequences. usually in EMA one of the parties involved tends to be on a negative shade and that will be the reason for an affair with another ... whereas in silsila no one is negative, no one is to be blamed and none of them are evil or with evil intentions to destroy one another.
The situations, the circumstances play a key role in making the story move. a huge applause to the creatives who came up with such an idea 👏👏.
here the STORY is the HERO instead of the actors⭐️... of course actors an added bonus as they are capable of carrying on a story with the same understanding as that of the creatives. what i like about this show is nobody knows the ending of the show😆. we cant predict as its not our usual happily ever after kind of story and its not your typical mills n boons ... i was super bored of the rich man and poor girl kind of concept which time and again Hindi soaps handle..
Silsila came as a breath of fresh air with the realistic approach😳... no random celebrations ... no random use of Bollywood songs for every eye locks... the more REAL they tried showing...the more ppl started watching it. though many may deny that the reason for watching is because remote is not in their hands😉😆 ... yet it makes ppl watch inspite of all the complaining...
we are all imperfect . nobody can point a finger on another without evaluating him/herself first. as far as i understood , the show is NOT justifying EMA...
it gives us a VIEW of what it actually is in THREE PERSPECTIVES...
through the eyes of MAULI -KUNAL-NANDINI ... each character has his/her own story to tell...
MAULI :
Dr. Mauli Malhotra. An accomplished Doctor⭐️. busybody. she is Brave, Caring and loving. She must have had her own struggles .. we saw a glimpse of who her mother really was ... A mother who kept discriminating her from her brother. A mother who thinks of her less than what she is and what she has become of her own... And a father who cant speak much in front of her mother. but Luckily enough she ended up getting married into a beautiful family. A fine husband and she has nothing to worry about... yet she has this insecurity, often feeling less confident .. if u notice the initial episodes where one of their friend betrays his partner, the creatives showed us a scared Mauli... though she has accomplished things she is not a confident person on the inside ... she was shaken up even if it was for a moment. all her worries is always about her marriage breaking up... (remember these were all situations we saw even before Nandini showed up in their life ) . i think this worry is from the deepest scar her mother had permanently given her because of her ill treatment. but i donno why the mother is all lovey dovey with mauli now. cvs pls do clear up this.
Now comes her relationship with Nandini.. the only thing she considers huge. nandini was the one who gave her the needed confidence to pursue her career. while Mauli's own family couldn't see her potential Nandini saw what mauli was capable of and showed her the path.. Its no wonder Mauli is always thankful and remembers Nandini during her achievements. she runs to Nandini when she is upset..to regain her confidence. To mauli , Nandini is an all in all figure... A mother at times when she feeds her (since childhood), a sister she can rely on... a friend whom she shares all her deepest worries. Mauli to me is confident on the outside but not on the inside. she is a person filled with love for her dear ones. she too is a little bit selfish as she wants everything to happen on her own time.. she never consults kunal before making any decisions which is involving the two ( mauli kunal). SHE DECIDES and then shares what she has decided with him. (but again rembr it gives Kunal no license to cheat on her. )😳
KUNAL :
Dr.Kunal Malhotra... A Righteous man... A man full of moral values... the man who resigned his job without giving any further thoughts when it came to compromising his values👏👏. He dint want his patients to spend money further in the name of checkups. He strongly believes that his career is not for Business. He values people... He values his profession. its no wonder he hated Rajdeep and his motives in the first sight ! He is surrounded by a beautiful family, a wife of the same profession, a wonderful mother, a quick-witted and technologically updated dadi, and a sister whom we are yet to see...his relationship with mauli has not always been a smooth ride... just like how all marriages are.. no marriage is perfect... we make little sacrifices at times to make it last long.. kunal has always been a forgiving man. remember all that missed moments he eagerly waited for ?... to spend time with her... even when anger takes over he soon calms himself down. he makes sure that the things between them are fine. in the initial episodes i always felt he was giving in too much. but then he was a guy who wanted his girl to be felt safe and protected with him... but he dint know tht Mauli was just the opposite of him. she loved him dearly but needed no protection of his. Mauli was always busy and the reason wasn't only because of her setting up a clinic for kunal but also because she loved doing what she does.. she enjoyed her profession. Kunal knows Mauli loves her career just like how he does. now what happens to this man full of moral values when Nandini enters ? He is still the same Kunal 😳..he fought hard with his feelings.. tried holding on to mauli ... but the situations that came up one after another was in such a way that it made him fall for nandini ... it all started with that protective instinct of his... when he kept protecting nandini from the harms way time and again... from rajdeep... from suicide... from natural calamities. circumstances kept bringing them together. his own wife kept pushing nandini in his way ( again it gives no license to cheat.😆😉 but lets look at it through the makers eye ...let us see how things proceed) . Kunal is guilt ridden yes, but there is also something inside of him that doesn't want to stop loving mauli. Kunal needs to know that marriage is no obligation and that he shouldn't keep dragging a relationship that has met its end. According to me he is still the same Kunal - man of values ... just because he has fallen in love again doesn't make him any less. its just that he needs to be open about his feelings with mauli ... which i know will happen in the due time... its a serial and things cant be shown in a single day😊...
NANDINI :
Nandini Rajdeep thakkur to Nandini ... what a journey .. Nandini a woman of substance. she definitely is solid on the inside but what changed her completely was her marriage to Rajdeep who treated her like a property... all that substance she got were buried deep within her and she closed her shell for the world and became an entirely new person for the husband she married ... the girl who loved dancing ... enjoyed cooking... loved decorating... an overall creative woman was shut down from the inside...the way she was abused was too much to even mention it here as a list.... she tried hard to hold on to the marriage as she believed marriage was too sacred... that she had to somehow put up with it. even the smallest compliment from rajdeep made her happy. she was so blinded by marriage that she even couldn't see what kind of a Human rajdeep was until she was put on sale for his business sake... she needed to hear it from his own mouth for her to believe... the woman who cried silently without doing anything when her man brought up another woman into her bedroom couldn't sit still when she lost her child.⭐️ her first step to freedom. 👏
when she enters Mauli's world she sees what she was missing in life...a beautiful family.. she saw a husband who treated his wife as an equal.. a husband who kept doing things to make his wife special... be it bringing flowers or making coffee or taking a day off to spend time with her... she adored Mauli's family... she won the hearts of all the members genuinely.. there was no crookedness or any ulterior motive behind it. all this were before she had feelings for kunal, so lets not judge her.according to me Nadini is more strong which eventually comes out at certain times and she too is a tiny bit selfish .. she thought of only her emotions when she agreed to get married . she dint consider her friend mauli s warnings on Rajdeeps true colors...
sooo overall lets not be so judgemental about this show ... or any of its characters...all of them are imperfect. flawed. they have positives and a few negatives... do not hate them for real or for the characters they are playing. EMA is not something new to our culture... things like this has been happening around us for ages. when i say -> i like this show it doesn't mean I'm okay with EMA in real life . i am not in any way supporting it. but lets watch the show for what it is... lets not come to a conclusion with every single episode... instead share our thoughts in a decent manner and have a healthy discussion.
the circumstances made Kunal as Nandini's savior... Nandini relied him firstly because she felt safe with him and felt protected. she dint lure kunal deceitfully /purposely. ..neither did kunal . she confessed her feelings when she thought she lost him in an accident ... the situations played a greater role again in bringing them together. kunal too confessed his feelings when he thought she was leaving the city for good... so😳
lets patiently watch for whats in store for us viewers in the future... the show is after all about EMA...so lets not keep complaining everyday that its about EMA 😆😆
