Hi Everyone, This is Sneha and it's my first Thread here. Though I keep conducting games n contest, this is my first thread for Serial discussion in Silsila forum.
I hav been reading few topics here and was compelled to voice my opinion.

Marraige is a sacred institution. It's a two way process. We may keep getting attracted to people at different points of life but that doesn't mean we forget that we are married and Start confusing Attraction with love.

Yes I m speaking about Kunal. So that being said, it is highly possible that what Kunal is feeling for Nandu cud b love too. He does have genuine feelings for her .It is Not lust. But It may b just attraction or it could be love. That only future episodes wil tell.

What I m trying to say is People do Fall in and out of love . It happens everywhere though we don't want to believe. Yes, Kunal falling for Nandu is wrong , but he didn't do it deliberately! He did try to fight his feelings, bcz even he knew what he feels for Nandu is wrong. Similarly people call Nandini a homebreaker etc, Yes she is wrong to fall for Kunal, The husband of her best friend, but even she tried to control her feelings.

I am not on Team Mauli or Team Nandini, But as a Neutral viewer of this show, I feel that If Makers want to show Kunan as end game, It's fine but the approach is incorrect.
Why keep showing signs like God is showing sign that they r meant to be together Or their love is so pure and destiny wants them to be together?
This is my only issue with this Show. Show the leads as Normal grey characters who know they r wrong and commiting a sin, Yet they r fine with it. Rather than show their love is purest and Mata rani is giving sign for them to be together.
Cheating is Wrong! There is no justification for Extra marital affair. It makes no sense that Kunal was so madly in love with Mauli and after seeing nandini dance, he is mad for her!
So a Request to the makers, Please Do not try justifying Cheating .Do Not Paint Kunal and Nandini as some mahaan characters who are sacrificing their love for Mauli. This is where the story is difficult to digest. Of course everyone knows Kunan is the end game , so we are prepared for it. But please show them as normal human beings who are doing something wrong but still they are doing it coz they want to be together. Do Not Whitewash Them please ! It's difficult to believe God is supporting Extra marital affair, so please stop showing Maata rani signs!
That being said I am fine with Kunan together, they have amazing chemistry . My only issue is the approach the makers are taking as in whitewashing the leads.
Kunal and Drashti r nailing it! Infact All the three actors are doing brilliantly.

Very well said! Expected a more mature moves by makers while showing the realization tracks! They did it is hurry and the symbolisms were really tacky! They should have taken time and build the reason behind this is stronger and mature relatable way!

Such a balanced and honest post!

I see all these aspects of God and the universe trying to bring KuNan together in a different manner, so I am okay with it. I have more than one way of looking at it, and here they are...

Indian television has a tendency to show that the couple who will be the end game are destined to be together by God or the universe for the element of drama. So there's always that; the theme real, but there will always be the drama bit. 😊

What if God actually wants KuNan to be together, in spite of all the chaos it'll cause? I am not a huge believer, but every person has a unique relationship with and perception of God. There is no universal definition of His plan, that's why we have so many religions and sub-sects within each religion. And even the people belonging to the same sub-sect may interpret God differently. Personally, I don't think the show portraying that God is bringing KuNan together is wrong, because if He's indicating their union, He has a reason and a plan, both of which we know nothing about. In the show of course, the makers are playing God, because that's their job. Nandini is reading the signs from God as those indicating that Kunal is her future. It's her way of interpreting God and also of falling in love with Kunal, because neither has a defined set of rules.

As for destiny, I don't really believe in it. I think it's just a term for a string of events that have made something happen, and not because it is meant to happen. The Butterfly Effect is a fitting example to show how even a small incident can change the course of people's lives drastically. I met my husband when I was going through a bad breakup, after having a series of self-destructive relationships. I was fed up and just wanted to get done with the entire relationship fiasco, so agreed to marry him. Maybe I wouldn't have if everything in my life wasn't going on exactly the way it was. Unlike the events in our life, the events in a fictional show are controlled by a set of people, and they are showing how a series of events are bringing KuNan closer. The elements of destiny, God's plan, and the universe's conspiracy are only their way of giving a concrete term or definition to the chain of events.

The show is more of KuNan's story than anybody else's, so the makers are focusing on their points of view more than Mauli's. Showing the suffering of a wife because of a cheating husband and the emotions she's going through has been done in several shows and movies, for example, Balika Vadhu, Biwi No. 1, Astitva, Kora Kagaz, Saans, Kyunki, YHM, and so on. The cheating spouse is always shown in a negative light and the other spouse in a positive one. In this show, they're showing how two good people can fall into something as wrong as an extramarital affair and the journey of conflicts and emotions they go through. The makers are not showing them as 'mahaan'. But yes, they are showing them trying to do the right thing, even though their heart aches for each other. And the best part is that, in the midst of all this, they aren't painting Mauli as a negative character. They may not be focusing on her point of view, but they are showing her to be the best wife that there is. And probably that's the reason why viewers want Kunal and Nandini to be portrayed as negative. Because if Mauli was negative, then there wouldn't have been a problem at all. Then all these signs from God, destiny, and the universe would have been welcome.

Also, I don't think KuNan are being whitewashed. Instead, they're being depicted as two very human people with human emotions. This is the 'other' side of the extramarital story that people don't want to hear. This is the side that shows how real, true, deep and meaningful a forbidden relationship can be, and that is difficult for many viewers to digest. The fact that this forbidden relationship is the highlight of the show gives the impression to some people that the relationship is being justified. On an emotional level, every personal relationship is justified, because emotions are the very base of these relationships. Within the circle of KuNan's relationship, it's about the two people who are in it, and in that circle, their relationship is not wrong, and their emotions are not tainted. It's when the people outside that circle come in that everything in the relationship looks dark and questions are raised about why they fell for each other so quickly in spite of Kunal being in a happy marriage. But in KuNan's circle, these questions have no place. The show is now focusing on what is going on inside the circle, and if that means justifying it, then so be it. I know for sure that a major part of the show will deal with the chaos that will follow when people outside the circle, especially Mauli and Rajdeep get involved. So I'm totally okay with the way KuNan's story is progressing right now. It's only going to be troubled times ahead for these two.

Loved your post.Every word written is so good.Makers are trying to justify EMA which hardcore fans don't understand as their favorite is playing grey shades.Showing them destinated couple is so irritating and i stopped watching only when baba drama was shown to make nandini realise her feelings.I started watching show for drashti and i was ready to see her grey shades but here they are projecting EMA as if it's true and pure love.Nandini's character is still bearable but when they try to show kunal in positive light i feel disgust .It makes me cringe when he stares at nandini with those puppy eyes eww and then that deewana music plays do cvs realise how pathetic it was neutral audience. If someone supports mauli then he or she termed as nandini hater which is not right .Like I m dd fan and started watching this show 4 her only but i started relating mauli more than nandini becoz i know how to differentiate real and reel .I still love drashti more than additi but sorry here in this show i love mauli character more than nandini.Drashti and Aditi both are doing good job.Infact shakti is playing kunal brillantly but it's other case i hate kunal character.

The channel seems has dedicated 10PM time slot to shows where the man being loving his wife immensely will fall for another woman. And finally the second relationship becomes the destiny.
I cannot talk about any other show here so no further comments.
EMA has no justification in the movie on which this show is based upon the director said he did not give valid justification bcz there is none. It is a fact of life and common affairs with friends husband or wife or any one and truest thing it adds spice to your life.
And in today's context it is a in thing

It's not just the symbolism, its also the circumstances that bring them together that are half-baked. In yesterday's episode why did Kunal not call home and ask them to send a handyman/locksmith to get them out? Nandini also did not pick up Mauli's call. Was it out of guilt? Can anyone tell me?

Though I don't think the CVs are justifying EMA, I mean if that was the case there wouldnt be any remorse after all it was the universe that indicated their togetherness (which I hate, can they really stop that mumbo jumbo)

I suppose both Kunal and Nandini stating that what they are feeling is wrong in their monologue is evidence enough to suggest they are indeed wrong

The best form of white washing would have been to show KuNan as previous lovers and then separating due to Mauli. So no I don't think the main leads are whitewashed, had that been the case I would have loved Kunal (which I don't) and KuNan scenes would have been awfully romantic (which it is not)

The fact that both Nandini and Kunal have haters (more Nandini though) shows that. I actually do like the depiction of how the tale is told; all have flaws and all make mistakes and the portrayal of the missed emotions is wonderfully exhibited

Sneha ji +1 on ur Post.
I know Kunan scenes will be the highlight. That everyone agrees. The treatment bothers me. Yest hug if not judged by the situation was really magical. They have awesome chemistry.
Wish cvs would have progressed it slowly, gave the story more depth.
I would have really enjoyed the show.
Right now, I feel so bad 4 Mauli that I cannot connect with Kunan at all

I agree with all ur points. I ve been saying this from the beginning. I was intrigued by the initial promos & expected a sensitive, intense story similar to the Bachan movie Silsila which was an all time classic. In India anyway directors, movie makes, music directors shamelessly copy stories. So even if they had tried to copy the original Silsila or Bodyguard or even Karan Johar's KANK I w'd ve liked it. Hell they c'd ve even shown Drashti as a negative character like Jennifer Anniston in Derailed or Glenn Close character from Fatal Attraction. Instead v this wishy washy childish plot from the CVs 🥱
