Funny, for a filler-ish episode this one made an impact on me!
THANKYOU GAYATRI! for putting the entire drama to bed. I still say they should have let her handle the entire ragging situation! She cracked betty, because mama knows guys, mama always knows :P
What i found weird was as their mother she told her family what the kids did and EVERYONE questioned her. They really are the worst! And if gayatri is a 'bahu' and outsider then why is 'devi' an insider?
Saberwals are such hypocrites! They refuse to mettle out any punishment or even tell their daughters anything. I liked that for once Shaurya immediately set them straight that just to satisfy their ego, they messed up everything. Shaan followed suit and i loved what he said that Sabs behave like they are the only family in the world!
While i dont want to say it, my heart did break for Shaan. This man has loved this woman for 25 years and not been with her for this horrible family, a family that often sabotages his relationship with his own son and today no one came with him. Leave Shaurya, its okay. Alok? Tej? Yash? In these 25 years shaan damaged his relationship with his son..yes..but what did he do to his brothers? Nothing! and yet in that moment of weakness, no one came to hold him. His expectation with Shaurya was that he would come with him, not for his mother but his father, and i think Shaurya wanted to, it was clear on his face but Devi and her insecurity! And then the saberwaals acted like nothing happened? WHAT EVEN?!?!
Shaurya walks away from Devi. This news has him shook to his core. Aastha, his own mother hurt him but he is unable to hate her nor is he able to forgive her. This is the pain many kids face with toxic parents/parenting. Sometimes parents do the worst of the things and yet the kids cannot see them hurt. This is real. I loved these emotions.
Devi plays such mind games. She knows this is Shaurya's weak moment, a moment when he can develop sympathy for his mother and dear lord..the game! I raged at Devi today and yet you can see her insecurity clearly. Is she a villain? She is different. Amazing reverse psychology!!!
Shastha is that story we all wanted to discover but it never got its due. I think the makes wanted to show a different story but..anyway. I loved how they always play an old heartbreak song for them. It makes me feel like the story has been left incomplete in time but its not dead. Shaan is frantic. He can live away from her but not without her. Strange is it not? All he does after this rough night, when no one came to help him(they could have sent yash atleast?) is drop a text to gayatri (are shaan-gayatri same as shaury-kanchan?) and yet this family insults her for just giving Shaurya an update that we all know he wanted to her. Shaan should have left that god forsaken house after this incident.
Sidenote 1: Bhalla sisters are dealing with Bhatiyas as best as they can. Vineet's mother is the reason why men become entitled. And obviously extorting money froma 18-19 yo is the culture of "good" families.
Side note 2 : Gayatri is such a sane character. All she has said till date has been so logical. She is leaps and bounds better than the sabs!
will watch and then comment.
Another high octane drama.
Gaytri showed the true face of her daughters to the Sabs, and they still doubted her. Here I see that Kitty has got more of Gaytri in her whilst Bebo is Alok type.
One question Anokhi had asked Shaurya is she would like to know what punishment would be reserved to the one who had called the press. Shaurya had also warned anokhi of consequences when he would prove she had called the press. So now becaise it is his sisters, they get away with a few harsh words? On top of that he does not even have the decency to apologise to his father. The whole aastha discussion was based on the fact that his father had called the press because Aastha had asked him, and he should stop any association with aastha as it is runining the Sabs name.... etc etc. So where does this leave them now? Tej has the gut to say that Sabs girls should be properly talked to and Alok blames Shaan for asking his daughters to apologise.
This family of hypocrites are the limit. Shaurya is no better.
When Shaan learns of aastha and automatically turns to Shaurya, I felt really bad for him. In moments like these you do not abadon anyone, even if that person has hurt you before, in their hour of need if they ask of help you give that help. Shaurya is showing his pettiness here, no humanity in him at all. i am really pissed**** with his behaviour towards his father.
Now Devi is the serpent... I can not find words to define how vile a person she is.
She tells off Gaytry for requesting Shaurya to support Shaan, and later the next morning also does the same when Shaurya walks away from the table.
Secondly she plays the Mahaan mother who would not stop Shaurya from seeing that woman, but she feels so bad when Aastha ignored Shaurya when he was hurt in an accident when he was small. As said before , using reverse psychology to ensure Shaurya does not visit aastha.
Shaurya is further antagonised by this revelation ensuring his alienation to his mother.
I fail to see why Gaytri has never tried telling im the truth, whether he believes it or not is something else, but it would have given him another perspective and maybe have some doubt over Devi's stories.
Sidenote 1: Shaan shouting to the nurses for opening a hospital where there is no opeartion theatre or doctors- The Sabherwal in him does surface when there is a need.
Sidenote 2: the person who was sitting at the breakfast table was not Shaurya but his body double. His parts was filmed alone.
Why is it that some people are of the opinion that their children can never go wrong? Gayatri stole the show by standing up to the truth and calling out her daughters which is commendable given her weak position in the house.
Ss’s very own famous dialogue .. dimaag kharab ho gaya? Felt funny….
And Tej.., does he only go by the book of traditions they have been handed over and doesn’t he recognise that an offence committed by a girl is equally punishable and no different? I hate when they say such things that girls should be treated in a softer way. Why the differentiation? Either way is not acceptable in my opinion.
Shaan many a times has referred to his bhabhi and questioned of the morals and values as he knows she is the master mind behind Shaurya’s behaviour towards Astha and now Anokhi. It’s so true that most people hold their values higher compared to others when the reality is not.
The phone call… I felt like they were a bunch of inhuman people Shaan was surrounded with leaving Gayatri and Kanchan. Shaan was looking up to his grown up son hoping to hold on to him for some support but BM was ruthless and heartless to send away Shaan alone. No one would hold grudges even when you have an enemy in such a situation. Shaurya was clearly affected and disturbed but was too much under Bm’s influence that he couldn’t utter a word. He clearly is bound by their Ehsaan and doesn’t want to hurt them by going against their wishes. Even though I dislike Shaan for his neglect, but today my heart cried for him seeing him left all alone like an orphaned child inspite of having his own brothers/family.
Bm… how manipulative can she get? sympathy shrouded in a thick cloud of hatred where sympathy loses its identity. Sympathy was just for the sake of it and she every time tries to rub salt on his existing wounds making him feel worse and bitter. A mother would never be so heartless to do this knowing she would hurt her child more. No wonder Shaurya is so disrespectful towards Astha.
Gayatri is the only sensible human in that whole Sabh clan. She was on point when she said Ss should’ve visited the hospital if not for Astha but for his dad’s sake. Alok is directly influenced by Tej’s taunts and warns Gayatri. Nothing better can be expected from a characterless person like Alok who blindly follows their footsteps.
The Bhalla sisters carry on with their chores unaffected by the Bhatias useless remarks/ taunts. Vineet is utterly disgusting in his thought that Babli has no identity if not for him. If this is what Vineet being a lawyer can think of then we can expect no better from Mrs Bhatia.
This was almost an Anokhi-less episode until the last minute! This episode was all about Aastha, even though she was the one passed out on a stretcher!
"Aastha hospital mein hai.......usse kisine goli maar di" Everyone forgot about the ragging and the press. Shaurya's head turned so fast. The real possibility that he could lose the mother he professes to hate has him so tormented. If not for Devi's interference, there was a real chance that Shaurya would've gone with Shaan just for support. But instead Devi takes the chance to throw ghee on a roaring fire of hate. Devi doesn't have any empathy for her son or her sister in law. Instead of providing some support, she puts on the show of a concerned parent telling the story of Shaurya being in an accident and Aastha not showing up. These type of stories/lies have compounded Shaurya's pain and abandonment issues. It sucks that Shaurya never learns that his mother did show up and that she was barred by his Badi Ma. Gayatri might know the Sabherwal truths and be a victim herself, but she played a role in the bitter man her nephew became by keeping it to herself. I know she worried that she would not be believed, but that seems like a cop out to stave off Devi's ire.
As impressed as I was with the Aastha/Raja shooting scene, I was disappointed with the hospital scenes. Weird editing choices were made. What was the point of having those black and white scenes and hiding the blood? Also what hospital stays open, without an operating theater or a doctor on staff? The Bhallas and Shaan missing each other was a very ITV thing. But I was impressed that when the doctor asked for more blood, it didn't turn into Shaan calling Shaurya for his blood(because the estranged child is always the same blood type as its parent) or even Shaurya donating his blood secretly.
Side note:
~ Everyone's reaction to learning the twins truth is why the twins are such entitled bitches! Tej actually said not to scold "ghar ki betis". Devi and Alok are just as heartless hearing about Aastha. No wonder the children of the house grow up as careless adults. Even Shaan shuts up when the all might Tejvi speak.
~ When they played, "Ek pyaar ka nagma hai, maujon ki ravaani hai, zindagi aur kuch bhi nahi, teri meri kahaani hai", I thought Aastha would die!
~ When Kanchan asked why everyone is so rooke in SH, it reminded me when Anokhi asked why everyone is rooke in Chandigarh. My brain runs on parallels!
~ Devi's "Shaurya ki sirf ek ma hai, uski badi ma" gave me psycho mom vibes!
~ The Bhatias continue to be trash. Instead of scolding her son for his drunken tamasha, Mrs Bhatia chooses to yell at her bahu. Vineet has the audacity to say that "uske koyi wajood nahi hai mere bina" about Babli and then to tell Anokhi that she also has no wajood and no aukaat.

Shaurya never apologized for jumping to conclusions to Shaan or to Anokhi later. He wouldn't have even confessed to knowing that she didn't call the press if she hadn't confronted him. He's so full of ego.
So I will defend Shaurya's behavior when it comes to Aastha. There is literally no precedence set for why Shaurya needs to be there for his father after his father was not there for him for 25 years. I don't expect Shaurya to see Shaan's "pain" when Shaan has ignored Shaurya's and even played a role in creating it. I don't just blame Devi, I blame Shaan and Gayatri for being spineless and never standing up to the Sabherwals. They expect Shaurya to show understanding without knowing the truth, which is stupid.
I noticed the KV body double too...especially when he walks out and moves by Devi/Gayatri.

Feels like they all played their bit in making Shaurya the man he grew up to be. Hiding bitter truths, drowning in self-pity 🤪🤦🏻♀️
🤣🤣🤣 Lol Anju! Years of ITV/ Bolly/ Tolly/Molly/Kollywood influence I see😂
The Bhallas missing Shaan can be a parallel to Shaurya and Anokhi’ hit and miss at the train station 😂
One of the alternate titles of the show can be: Betty aur entitlement ki Kahaani. 😂 They get off so easily .. all.the.time!🙄Ouch! That wouldn’t have gone down well with the storyline. Or would it have? It’s interesting that you thought Aastha might die so early in the show. I have a hard time imagining how differently the story might’ve been. OS writers… Hear hear?😀
lol I just pointed to a Bhalla/ Shaan / Shakhi parallel and now I read this. 😂 humara kuch nahi hi sakta 🙄😂
😂 My mind immediately goes to the Badi Ma Pole dance.
I don’t even want to comment on the Bhatias. Unfortunate that many people/ families are still like this.
Oye! Come to IF more and comment on the posts!!
Isn't it funny how brainwashed I am with all of ITV always presenting the same storyline? It's so sad that anytime someone is in the hospital, I'm thinking the worst thing or it being a plot device for more dramatics. SAAKK did tug at the heart strings with Shaurya visiting his mother, but also just used it as a plot device for the Shaurya/Aastha relationship reveal to Anokhi.
Our brain has really gotten into parallel hunting! I like the ones Gowri does on twitter.

My question, they hate aastha..i understand but why do they hate shaan? that even when he was almost broken again by this news, they refused to help. IS he not their brother?
Devi is twisted. She wants to own Shaurya like a doll. You can see her insecurities crop up slowly. Her anxiety regarding the "ownership" of shaurya. She will stopp as low as it takes to keep him away from his mother. Gayatri has her own issues. She could have lost everything if saberwals decided to throw her out on a whim and maybe hence she was quiet?
Only thing i noticed. Shaan and his panic. His desperation and his struggle. Khalid acted so well here!
Whatttt? WHY? Its ITV, she has to be there for Devi to stir up trouble :P
They have used Bhatiya's to reflect on society's worst habits regarding women. Infact, ALOT of families think this way.
His brothers are not deserving of the loyalty he shows them. I hate that we never get the full story. What was Shaan's reason for standing by his brother and sister in law? My theory was that he lost his parents early and Tej raised him so he feels he can never turn his back on them.
Devi is despicable. I hate that she never gets her due. Same for the Bhatias. I just hate that no one is punished for their behavior.
From the confrontation with Shaurya to the hospital scenes, Khalid does such a great job in these episodes.
I realized later the direction of the story. Initially I wasn't analyzing the story so I just thought of Shastha as just side characters. I also wasn't watching precaps so I didn't realize that Anokhi would come to know the truth. Also ITV is dramatic and likes to kill parents to move the child's story along.

Devi is the vamp par excellence.
Devi is so good at this, makes me cringe and at the same time reflect on the type of childhood Shaurya has had. A nightmare definitely, no parental love only material love and he could have been made to think he was in some way to be blamed for having both his parents abandoning him.
Gaytri should have planted some seeds of doubt in Shaurya's mind so that he would not have blindly believed everything Devi says. But then Gaytri is comfortable in her position so why ask for trouble.
Ghar ki bets should have done something so that 'naakh kat jaye' something like falling pregnant...then we would have sat and watch the tamasha...
Definitely psychotic.
we are told Devi and Tej chose not to have a baby of their own what if they could not have any child and the fortune goes to the firstborn male. Hence they needed Shaurya under their power!
Devi was a great villain. A layered character that wasn't out rightly evil, but manipulative and driven by insecurities. Your point about Tejvi unable to have a kid has been something we've discussed during the show run too. It seemed likely that not choosing to have a child was a lie they cooked up to look mahaan and emotionally blackmail the family. It's one more thing Tejvi has done for the family that demands respect.
I wish Gayatri had truly treated Shaurya like a nephew and invested in him more. But then again, the kids she did take care of are cookie cutter Sabherwals who did no work(like Yash) and totally entitled(like the twins). So maybe she would've messed him up more.
I feel like the Bebo/Anmol track was going that way. He was going to take advantage and she was going to get pregnant. And then Anokhi coming to her rescue and helping her. Or maybe it's ITV brainwashing again!
