I was still in my Shaurya dislike phase when I watched this scene initially, so I got so much joy out of Anokhi wiping that smirk off his face!

I don’t blame Shaurya here, it’s 25 years of pain and yearning.

This rewatch is really making me dislike Shaan. Why did he not see how much his actions affected his son??

This is one of the best episodes of SAAKK. I would have watched this and the previous episode n number of times. Anokhi's confidence while answering the questions... Shaurya's surprised look when Anokhi answers a very tough question.... Shaan's proud look.... and Tej confused and not able to reject such a bright student. All the actors were brilliant in this episode. Interview track and ragging track were the best tracks.

This show really gave us such memorable episodes. But the early episodes writing and editing and directing and acting were so perfect! I totally agree the admissions track to ragging track is really in the top 5 SAAKK tracks!

Actually, after watching Shaan and Anokhi scene, I wondered if he ever told Shaurya that he was proud of him. Especially with Shaurya's great achievements in the field of economics and also doing great work at SIAC as mentioned in the award ceremony in Gurdaspur.

Tej started realising they have a jewel here, Alok was being Alok, and even Shaurya was taken aback by the explanation

Shaurya was simmering with anger. For the sindoor shaadi there is role reversal, but then Shaurya was very emotional there whilst here we see a stoic Anokhi ready to battle for the seat in SIAC.

I could not stop laughing at his expression. Now think in this interview how many expressions he went through,

Shaurya was feeling helpless since academically he could not defeat Anokhi, so whenever someone wants to win a battle at all cost, they resort to cheap tricks, and here Shaurya showed that attitude of going to any length to achieve his 'maqsad' .

In fact Alok is the first to recognise that Anokhi is of another mettle and she will not be easy to subdue or dominate, as the females of their family.

Alok needed to be told how stupid he is. Tej was looking at Alok as if wanting to tell him, please do not open your mouth.

At this point she needed the hug of Ramma or Aastha. You could see how restless and her tears of joy were priceless.

So apt for Anokhi and her dreams

I also felt very sad. How do you reconcile the fact that a missing father your whole life is now showering so much love on a girl only because she knows your wife. No wonder Shaurya is so angry. He cannot take it out on his father, so who is the best target? Anokhi of course.. Poor girl who is innocent is paying the price of Shaan and Aastha abandoning their son. However Devi has the biggest hand in the behaviour of Shaurya as she has instilled this hatred in Shaurya and never stops taunting him with the fact that his mother left him. everytime I hear her say that my heart aches for Shaurya.

I also noticed this. Shaan is just an Aastha bhakt and defeating anyone to please her is of utmost important to him, evn if it means hurting his son. But then he cannot have that paternal feeling because he has been majnuing for 25 years..

The funny part here was Anokhi, stopping short and standing like a good girl, when we know what a pataka she is.

Just think how after a couple of meetings with Anokhi he is feeling like this. In fact he is feeling helpless as he cannot understand what is happening to him. He is linking it to aastha when in truth it is Anokhi the person who has touched a cord in him without him being aware of it.

All his life he has been made to feel a burden and now this is being further stressed by the fact that Anokhi is getting everything he was entitled to. As you said Shaurya is really messed up.

I'm reminded of this picture as soon as I read your line!

Shaurya did display so many emotions during that interview. It's a testament to KVs (and Deba's) acting that we were so absorbed in the scenes.

I do not understand how Devi can keep harping on Shaurya being abandoned. You would think a smarter tactic would be for him to never remember than and feel utmost love and loyalty to Devi as a mother. But she has turned it into a karz which comes back to bite her because he spends 25 years yearning for unconditional love.

You're soooooo right. Shaan really only had emotional loyalty to his wife. His kid never mattered to him. I also feel he must blame Shaurya a little. Aastha didn't stick around even for her own kid, making that kid less valuable in Shaan's eyes. I know that sounds a little evil, but I feel like Shaan not apologizing for how he messed up to Shaurya shows how unimportant Shaurya's feelings were to him.

The stopping short part cracks me up because in the future, most of the future run-ins end with Shaurya having to catch her!!

So I'm not sure I agree that Anokhi herself touched a cord in him. At this point, I think it's all related to Aastha. He might be impressed with her mind after that interview, but emotionally, I think he's wrecked because of his mother. Just my take on it though.

That breaks my heart. Remember how Shaurya shows his dad his magazine cover/article and says pay attention to your son sometimes too. You can hear the yearning in that statement. Shaan was always quick to point out whenever Shaurya was wrong! Maybe it's just their father-son dynamic. Multiple times they've asked, who's the father, who's the son. Shaan regressed in those 25 years while Shaurya matured too fast. Which is why I loved seeing the immature Shaurya come out when it came to Anokhi!
