OMG OMG THIS IS SO SO SO SO AMAZING

CHAPTER 2: STRUGGLING TO STAY AWAY

All I wanted to do was run away and hide under my bed for the rest of the party. For multiple reasons- this party sucked, I was drunk and there was an incredibly attractive man standing in front of me. Surbhi was right, he WAS very hot.

'Harman here has just returned from London, he is making a business deal with one of the biggest production studios in the world.' My father's loud voice made me snap back to reality.

I heard Harman chuckle and felt my knees grow weak as he spoke, 'Oh Maninder, we are still under talks. And it is confidential matter, I'd rather you not scream at the top of your lungs.'

I laughed loudly, getting attention from everyone within a 10 meter radius, crap I was too loud! But at least someone agreed that dad was loud as shit.

'Hey, Harman isn't it? I am Surbhi, Soumya's younger sister.' When did she come? And how long was she standing next to me? I turned to look at her, only to see her smirking at me. Her eyes clearly said 'TOLD YOU HE WAS HOT'.

'So Harman, I have to go attend to the rest of the guests. Soumya will entertain you,' Dad said, softer this time. I looked at him, panic evident in my eyes- there is no way I would spend time alone with Adonis after drinking four glasses of champagne!

'Thanks, I'm sure Soumya will entertain me just fine,' Harman said before I could protest, throwing a wink in my direction...I almost melted on spot!

'Great, lets go dad!' Surbhi said happily and dragged dad away.

'Aaj toh teri lag gayi, Soumya...' I told myself as I stood alone with the devil. His eyes were boring into mine, the intensity was too much for me to take.

I cleared my throat, 'Would you like a drink?'

'Yes, please' God there was that smile again! 'And could you take me somewhere quiet? I really detest parties.'

'I could take you to my bedroom,' I thought to myself. Stop it Soumya! 'Yeah sure, come on!' I guided him to the bar.

'One Scotch on the rocks, please.' He knew his drinks too, could he get any more perfect? Oh God, I hope I am NOT having a crush on him!

The bartender asked me what I wanted, Champagne, please.' I needed something to calm my nerves. While the bartender poured my drink into the champagne tulip, I saw Harman chuckling softly to himself.

'What's so funny?' I asked trying to ignore the fact that I could see his dimples.

'That's not champagne,' he said, still chuckling.

'Uh, yes it is. I know what I drink,' I said.

'No, what you are having is sparkling wine,'

'Why is he serving me sparkling wine when I asked for champagne? Aye you listen!' I turned around to interrogate the bartender. Are you trying to fool me or something?'

Harman grabbed my wrist to stop me, 'Why don't you find us the quiet spot and I'll explain it to you?' This time I had to ignore the fact that he was holding my wrist.

'He can hold something else too,' My thoughts were getting dirtier by the second.

I guided him to a couch in the corner of the room where there was no noise or anything. There weren't people too. He sat down and patted the area next to him, gesturing me to sit down.

'So you were saying...'

'Oh yeah. Champagne is a type of sparkling wine. The reason why its called champagne is since its made in the Champagne region of France. The French have patented the name, so if you make Champagne outside the region, it'll be called sparkling wine. It doesn't matter if you use the same grape varieties or even the same method.'

'Oh I get it, you are really knowledgeable,' I smiled at him. He flashed those dimples again.

'I did a short course on Beverages, I really wanted to be a Sommelier once upon a time,'

'Sommelier...?' I questioned him.

'A person who specializes in wine and wine-food pairing. In normal words, a wine waiter. But then my true passion was business. It was a fun experience though.'

I took a sip from my glass, Y'ou know, you don't seem like you are in your thirties. I don't feel like there is an age difference at all.'

'Thats because I believe its all in the mind. If I think old, I'll feel old. Besides, being 35 isn't that bad'

'Do you have a girlfriend?' Crap did I say that out loud? Screw you, Soumya!

'His eyes widened and a naughty grin spread across his face. Placing a hand on my thigh, he said, No, I am very much single. What about you, any boyfriends?'

'No. My dad kept me so busy throughout my life that I never had a chance to think about boys, even when I was in University for three years.'

'So...you're practically innocent.' he murmured, brushing his fingers across my thigh. I felt sensations that I never felt before. My grip on the champagne tulip tightened, I hoped I wouldn't break the glass.

'Innocent in every manner,' I breathed out. Which I am sure you are not. This conversation is extremely inappropriate, you know that.'

'Oh I do,' he smiled wickedly. But you know the forbidden fruit tastes the sweetest. And I do want a taste of you.'

I moaned softly but his sharp ears did hear it. 'Whats wrong, kitten?' he asked me. 'Scared? You should be, I am way too much of a man for you to handle.'

'Try me,' Our eyes locked and at that moment, I knew I wanted this man. I wanted him to do things to me that I had read in books, seen in pictures and watched in movies. It wasn't just an innocent crush, it was lust, hot lust and it was taking every bit of my self control to stop myself from pouncing at him. But I wasn't a One Night Stand. I had saved myself for twenty two years after all.

'I am tempted kitten,' His voice became deeper than ever.

'So am I. But I can't. I am not a One Night Stand. I am not like the other girls you have been with. I have some morals and plan to stick to them. Because unlike your One Night Stand girls, I have class and dignity'. Oh crap this alcohol talk. I was going to be so embarrassed in the morning!

He smiled at me understandingly, 'I get it. But that doesn't mean I will back off. When I see something I want, I do get it.'

'But this time you have met your match, it's going to be difficult,' I told him, smirking.

'It's a challenge.'

'You bet it is,'

'Are you always like this?' he asked, humour evident in his voice.

'The suggestive innuendos are from the alcohol. The rest is all me.' And that was the truth.

'You are really witty. Probably the first woman who hasn't been a blubbering mess in front of me.'

'Oh I am definitely not that girl.' Even though my insides were melting I couldn't let him know that.

'Would you like to dance?' he asked me. Without hesitation I gave my hand in his and we walked towards the balcony which was empty but had speakers placed here too. The song changed to Beyonce's 2014 version of Crazy in Love and the atmosphere became hot and sensual. Harman twirled and whirled me, dipping and lifting me occasionally. I, being a trained dancer too, met his stylish moves with mine. Once or twice he'd pull me close enough so that I could feel his breath fanning on my face, our bodies plastered against each other but before he could do something, I'd use one of my graceful ballroom moves and got away from him.

Time stopped, everything forgotten until he dipped me slowly till my head almost touched the ground and pulled me back so fast that I wrapped my arms around his neck, our nose touching each others'. I so wanted to kiss him.

'You've learned ballroom,' I panted.

'Yes, so have you,' His breathing was the same as mine. Y'ou know I can win the bet right now, kiss those soft lips of yours and make you mine.'

'You won't do it, not unless you want to be kicked in your family jewels.' I said and swiftly got away from him, moving to stand facing my back to him.

'Aah there you are!' I heard dad's voice. For the first time, his timing was correct. Surbhi was right behind him. 'Dinner's about to be served.'

'Thanks but I have to leave, I have an urgent meeting in Delhi tomorrow and I have to leave in like two hours,' Harman said.

'Arey but-'

'Some other time Maninder. Lets do one thing, we'll have dinner at my place next week. Bring your entire family.' Harman glanced at me. Immediately I felt my cheeks turning red.

'Chal done,' Dad said. 'Soumya, could you escort Harman?'

I cursed my dad inwardly but guided Harman to the parking lot. There was no conversation, just awkward silence.

'This is my ride,' We had stopped in front of a black Mercedes.

'No chauffeur?' I asked him.

'I am not like the others. Unlike many of them, I have built my path to success, starting from scratch. I am from an upper middle class family, but no one cares about all that as long as you have money.'

'But you drank!'

'Half a glass, ab toh utar bhi gayi hai. I'll be fine.'

'But-'

'Soumya,' he looked at me pointedly and I shut up.

'I'll see you next week,' I grinned at him while we gave each other a parting hug.

His mischievous eyes said it all, 'I look forward to it.'

I hope for more feedback and comments, previously when I wrote FFs I used to get 3-4 page comments and that was when I was a beginner.

I am disappointed with the lack of feedback.

Lovely update, yeh Somu buhut naughty hai yahan. Suggestive innuendos oho so she wants him as bad as he wants her, classic. Liked this older Harman then I guess I like older men hahaa.
