I do agree most of what Kusum said was the truth, esp the part where she said how Preeti is trying to hold on to her ex-husbandâs side of relationship who was horrible towards her, but she doesnât give priority to the relationships she chose on her own, KT and Kusum. I am glad that Kusum gave that much needed reality check to Preeti, which made her realize that she did wrong to KT.
Having said that, I do feel that Preeti wasnât entirely wrong when she told Kusum that she will not let anyone take decisions regarding her life, not even Kusum. I was actually shocked when Kusum was the one encouraging KT and Preeti to get married, which of course comes out of good intentions, but that doesnât make it right. Kusum was wanting them to get married, but Preeti doesnât want to get married because if she did, that would be like accepting those allegations that was thrown at her. Also, why should she get married just to please the society. So, I get Preetiâs perspective regarding what she said to Kusum and how she stood her ground to not let anyone take decisions of her life.
Preeti was right when she stood up for herself. I saw the Epi and I dont know how it seemed to others, but Preeti did not reject Kusum rudely. She thanked kusum for taking her side, for thinking about her. But as far as i understand, what stung kusum was preeti folding hands in front of her. In that moment, it did convey the fact that she was tired of her life being run by others. And that hurt kusum, that she was counted with the likes of trash rati and tarun. What stung kusum were the million chances preeti gave her useless family, while denying her and KT even one.
And just to drive home a point, I really adore kusum and all, but i think she is a headstrong character, and believes that she is right most of the time. (When preeti had refused to partner up with KT, Kusum did get pretty miffed. She wanted the best for preeti and i agree, but naaraz hone ki zaroorat nhi thi). That's her flaw, and its perfectly alright. It makes her even more human.Too perfect of a character is not for kusum. Imperfections make her even more lovable. It would be great if one day preeti would help her friend understand this too.
However she was completely wrong in not trusting KT and misunderstanding him.
