Hello Hi Peepz !!!
Welcome to SS Coffee Table Debate Club !!!
Well ... We don mind a healthy debate or discussion over a cup of coffee ... Do we?
So instead of a discussion thread , I ve come up with this club. Based on the response this week we can take turns and run this coffee debate club and help in keeping the SS Forum more lively and active.
So comin to the topic of debate...
"Is Parallel Cinema Sinking On The Horizon"
Has Parallel Cinema in India lost its Charm to Main Stream Cinema.???
Parallel cinema now ah days are subjected only to a thing of posthumous plaudits and glorification .
Gone are those days where socially responsible movies were lauded and creators like Satyajit Ray, Adoor gopalakrishnan and many independent film makers were appreciated , encouraged and were given due credits for filling the lacuna called Realism .
Is Culturally rich movies with artistic simplicity and thematic grandeur losing its plot due to commercial nd extravagant budget movies???
Are they not technically brilliant? Arey they not entertainers? What do they lack?
Why there are lil or no takers for such poetry in motion kinda movies?
Basking in posthumous glory after a national award is what they are destined for?
Are we to be blamed for that???
Do voice your Opinions.!!!
P.S Its purely my point of view on the current trend.
Please keep in mind the IF COC and Rules of the Forum while discussing.
