Already when two of his highly expected films are readying for release, Ilayathalapathy is all set to don grease paint for his next film, which will be with AR Murugadoss. Though the project has not been titled yet, the director is roping in the best of the cast and crew for his film with Vijay.

Just a couple of weeks back tabloids were brimming with the news about the next hottest dame in the Tamil film industry, Angela Johnson, who would be debuting as a heroine, as Vijay's arm candy, in this Murugadoss film. Well recently, a photo shoot took place involving Vijay and Angela in the city with ace cinematographer Santosh Sivan canning the shoots.

It looks like Murugadoss is absolutely happy with the results of the photo shoot, and is doing everything under his power to keep his new find (Angela Johnson) low-profile. Sources close to people associated with this project reveal that Harris Jayaraj might be roped in to tune songs for this film, though nothing on this regard has been confirmed yet.. The flick will be produced by Vijay's home productions banner under his father SAC along with Aascar Ravichandran.

The top brass of this upcoming venture will soon meet the press to confirm about the cast and crew as well as to divulge information regarding about the project.

Vijay to shoot in Srinagar

Ilayathalapathy Vijay will shake his legs in the backdrop of picturesque locales of Srinagar for 'Velayudham', as the only one song which is left to be shot will be canned in the capital city of Jammu and Kashmir.

Select members of the cast and crew of 'Velayudham' will leave for Srinagar on September 17 to shoot the number 'Molachu moonu ilai vidala...' They will be back within a week, sources in the know tell us.

What is more interesting about this particular song is that it would have both the heroines of the film - Genelia D'Souza and Hansika Motwani - sharing screen space with Vijay. It will be choreographed by a popular dance master.

Meanwhile, director 'Jayam' Raja is upbeat about the movie's prospects in the box-office. "Velayudham will be tailor-made for the fans of Vijay. How an ordinary man becomes a super hero is the one-line that can best describe the story," he says.

Velayudham is gearing up for a big release and Vijay fans can barely wait. We have decided to serve up some appetizers in the meantime and have unearthed five little known facts about Vijay. Dig in and enjoy!


1. People are very impressed when they meet Vijay and are bowled over by his simplicity and humility. The actor attributes his grounded personality to his circle of intimate friends who tease him mercilessly and are his harshest critics.


2. Vijay's friends try to keep him away from their wives because after seeing him they pull up their husbands for not being as trim and fit as him. Vijay does not follow any fad diets but eats right and on time and he exercises regularly at home itself. In addition to this, despite being a big star he is handy in the kitchen and makes perfect tawa dosas for his parents, wife, children, and friends.


3. When asked about his favorite costar Vijay smiles politely and says that he likes working with all of them. But his wife, Sangeetha revealed that Simran used to be Vijay's favorite costar because both are passionate about dance. A spirit of friendly competition used to prevail as both used to try and outdo the other person's dazzling dancing ability.


4. Vijay has something in common with good friend Ajith and that is a love for bikes and cars. He does not use a chauffeur but usually drives himself around. And as for bikes there is nothing he loves more than zipping all over Chennai on his bike by himself. And if fans are wondering why they have never spotted him it is because he is safety conscious and always wears a helmet.


5. Dharani's Dhool and Shankar's Mudhalvan were offered to Vijay but because of prior commitments, he had to pass up the opportunity. But he was bitterly disappointed for having missed out and vowed to do movies with both the directors. With Dharani, he did Gilli which went on to become one of the biggest hits in his career. And as everyone knows, after nearly missing out again he got Nanban with Shankar.
