The Kollywood grapevine has it that Hansika and Genelia are daggers drawn, and were "not on the best of terms " during the shoot of M Raja directed Vijay mass entertainer Velayutham.

Now the duo has shot a song together for the film in picturesque Kashmir! The song "Mulachu Mooni Ilai.." has Vijay dancing with his two heroines Hansika and Genelia in the cool climes of Pahalgam in Srinagar.

Both Hansika and Genelia are pinning a lot of hope on the film and the buzz is that Hansika has a better role with lot of scope for comedy, romance and a bit of action.

Genelia plays a mature role of a journalist who helps the hero accomplish his goal and slowly develops a soft corner for him.

According to sources close to the unit Hansika who plays the love interest shot for two days and Genelia for a day.

Choreographer Shobi Master has picturised this soft romantic number on the lead actors similar to Yash Chopra films with Hansika in plain chiffon saris.

However, the two actresses who are competing with each other over who gets more screen space had just two shots together as Ilayathalapathy shot separately with them!

GK Media bags 'Velayudham' USA rights
IndiaGlitz [Thursday, October 13, 2011]

A press report read that GK Media has acquired the theatrical rights of Ilayathalapathy Vijay's film, 'Velayudham' in USA.

The film will portray drastic changes in Vijay's character as it progresses. While Vijay is introduced to the audiences initially as a simple villager who is a milkman, his visiting Chennai changes it all for him as he dons the role of a superhero to eradicate corruption in the city and put an end to the baddies.

Director Jayam Raja has expressed that the film will be family entertainer and also be different from earlier vigilante hits in Tamil cinema like 'Indian' and 'Anniyan', as 'Velayudham' has a whole-new approach to the script.

'Velayudham' that boasts off a huge budget stars Vijay, Hansika Motwani and Genelia in the lead roles with music by Vijay Antony. The film has a number of comedians including Santhanam. Stunts are choreographed by Tom Delmar from Hollywood and Stunt Silva and there's a train fight sequence scene in the film which is much-expected.

In USA, the ticket price for the film is only 10$, also, kids who are below 12 years of age get to watch the film for free! This is applicable to all Big Cinemas locations whereas in some centers restrictions might apply. Please check with your local exhibitor for other details.

Vijay to work with Vijay?
IndiaGlitz [Thursday, October 06, 2011]

Director Vijay would work with actor Vijay is a longtime buzz, which is likely to become a reality soon. If sources are to be believed, the Ilayathalapathy is keen to join hands with the 'Madrasapattinam' and 'Deiva Thirumagal' director, sometime next year.

"By the first quarter of 2012, both would become free, as the actor would complete Yohan Adhyayam Ondru with Gautham Vasudev Menon and the director would finish off his yet-to-be-titled film with Vikram. They would start their project after that," sources say.

Remember circles close to Vijay said recently that his forthcoming films would be with established directors alone, as the actor wants to deliver handful of big hits in the next five years, before he would start focusing on politics in a full-fledged manner.

Apparently proving this, Vijay's next 'Velayudham' is directed by 'Jayam' Raja, 'Nanban' by Shankar and 'Yohan Adhyayam Ondru' by Gautham Vasudev Menon. In contrary, in the last couple of years, two of his films ('Vettaikaran' and 'Sura') were with budding directors.
