The celebs like him who are so blessed with name, fame and fortune should come forward and make these shows for no wage in fact I think they should spend their own money promoting these cause.

As soon as I found that Amir Khan is getting this much money I am done watching this show. Just very against my principles. He is an actor. His tears seem fake. End of it I am sure he is only after his paycheck. I am not contributing my time or money into his show that goes towards his paycheck.

Please do not get me wrong. I am not agaist Celbes making money. Just not for this cause. Imagine how many victims can be helped with this amount of money every week. My heart truly goes out to all the Victims that are part of this show or not and do pray that the justice is done to every single one of them.

I watch Crime Patrol on Sony every week which also brings up such real life cases. It is great for awareness but alas no Amir Khan is hosting is so I am not sure if it is getting that kind of attention.

Power to the voice of commoners and happiness to all.

THERE WERE AND R TONS OF PEOPLE WHO DONT WANT THESE TYPE OF SHOW TO AIR... THE DONT WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW ABOUT THEM..INCLUDING MOSTLY POLITICIANS... AND YOU ARE ONE OF THEM..OTHER WISE YOU WOULDNT HAVE ANY PROBLEMMM..

NO ONE WORKS FOR FREE..WHY SOMEONE SHOULD.. AMITAB BACHAN, SHARUKH KHAN, SLAMN KHAN, SANJAY DUTT, MANISHA, AND ALL THESE GUYS, GET PAID TOOO. BUT U DONT HAVE ANY PROBLEM WITH THEM.. DO YOU? BUT THE ABOVE ACTORS, HAVE DONE ONLY THE SHOWS THAT ARE JUST FOR FUN... WE R PROUD OF AMIR KHAN TO HOST SUCH A POWERFUL SHOW..

THE ONLY PART I AGREE WITH U IS.. I DONT WANT TO SEE MOVIE ACTORS TAKING HOST JOBS...IT IS NOT FAIR..BUT AGAIN..IF AMIR IS DOING, THEN IT MEANS THAT A LOT OF PEOPLE ARE WATCHING, WHICH IS GOOD AGAIN...

Not available in all languages neither screened in rural areas!

This is the first show which will be shown in remote rural areas too - where people don't have TV! They will be given TVs for community viewing of this show! Who is bearing those expenses? Aamir Khan and STAR!

Aamir Khan is also producer of this show, not just host. He has to pay salary to his entire team also - that worked on research! Aamir himself travelled to remote areas of country to do research with his team. They have worked for 2 years on its research alone! So why can't they get paid for the work they do? Even NGO workers and those working in UN orgs get paid! How will Aamir recover the investment on this show then?

The show may or may not even get viewers for entire 13 weeks. They may never recover their investment. It's a huge risk for them not merely just another debate show!

If Aamir was greedy he would not have arranged to raise donations for NGOs through SMJ. He would have done a simpler show. Or done a movie! He charges 40 crore plus share in profit for each commercial film he does. Whereas for SMJ, he will only make 39 crores for all 13 episodes (if 3 crore fee news is true). That amount is way less than what he makes with his commercial films!! So what is greed for more here? In fact he stands to lose!

He has already risked his position for this show by taking breaks post a huge hit like 3 Idiots - just to make this show, lost prime years of his stardom (everyone knows a 50+ actor gradually finds no takers in Bollywood).If he was greedy he would have done more movies or some entertainer show than this! He's earning way less through this show than what he does from his films anyway!

Loved your points...you said it all. 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏People love celebrities because they provide a soccour to their otherwise ordinary lives. That is why when celebrities choose to support a cause, it succeeds in catching the eyeballs. That is why Satyamev Jayate has made a difference already.Of course he is making money. But you also need to remember - he makes more money doing 2 minutes adds on television. He did not have any need to produce, and invest so much of his time on a show like this. He could easily have created a game show, a music show, a dance show, and charged more for it. Instead he chose to highlight something which has become a cancer for our society.

I would like to summarise in the following three points,

1. Why dont we ask STAR PLUS to telecast the show for free, before stopping Aamir from being paid a huge amount for the show ?

Isnt it the one making huge with the sky high TRPs SMJ gets...

2. Why is a good deed always been expected to be free of cost ?

Good causes never happen because everybody expects it to be done for free and hence nobody steps forward to do something good for the society... why not pay more for them and pay less for the entertainment so that everbody can step forward to do social service as its being highly paid?

3. Why werent these questions been raised when celebrities used to grab huge amounts for other mere entertainment show?

shows like BIG BOSS, DUS KA DUM, JHALAK DIKLAGA which did nothing else than mere entertainment.

For being an eye-opener, I feel 3 crore is way too less,

Aamir needs to be paid more for it...

to the topic starter i would kindly like to ask

what have you done in your lifetime that is selfless

have you given your free time to push a cause

have you volunteered to work for charities for no wages

have you tried to make a differece to the issues raised in this show

If not then why raise any objection to someone who is raising the issue regrdless of why they are doing it

the main point is important issues are being raised people are being made aware

Whether its shallow or imaturity but people follow stars listen to their views more then a newsreporter or presenter or some one on the street trying to bring change

so if required to bring change why should a star not get paid to do a show like this.

I personally have no issue with Amirs sallary cos if 1 person changes their mind not to abort a girl due to the show then that money is more then justified

If money is being made via the show by anyone then so be it at least its money being spent wissely then on a mindless game show.

We shud first look at whatr we have done, do it and then sit in judghment of others

If he worked for free ... where'd he make a living?

But if he 'made a living' doing something that helped other people, wouldn't that be worth something?

Isn't there a medium between Mother Teresa and selfish rich man? Can't a person be somewhere between selflessly benevolent and a business man? Can't he combine his business acumen and his compassionate side to bring forth something that brings HIM $$ and the poor, oppressed, victimized folks a voice and a face? What's wrong with that?

He may be using this all to get fame, but he already has that. Does he need it? Many, including myself, ar ewaiting for his movie. But rumor has it that he's got it on hold for this show. Does Amir really need this feather in his cap? I think not. He's done enough movies, gotten enough accolade, and made his movies different from the regular rom-com or action genre to be distinguished and counted among the best in the industry. He can be like the rest and enjoy the fame.

So if he is coming out of that world and going into one different than what he lives in, to just give a voice to those who don't have it - and make $$ off of it - isn't that somethign he doesn't have to do, but is doing it willingly, which is more than what the others are doing?

Celebrities have A LOT of power. A LOT. Folks drool over what the say, think, wear, sponsor, endorse, etc. So if THESE celebrities make statements, partake in movements or projects that make a difference in the world - they ARE trying to change the world, for the better. And if, in the process, they make $$, well so be it. Atleast he made GOOD use of his power, of his fame, of is influence. And I say, more power to him.

If all celebrities took up a cause and did something similar, and made $$ out of it - can you imagine how much better a place this world would be?

I don't understand why anyone should be concerned about his paycheck. Someone is doing a socially relevant programme we should appreciate it. They are many other ways to make money if he wants. There are number of easier options and ways available for him to make money. He could do commercial ads, host shows which could easily attain popularity. This is quite a risky one at that.

If a director or actor makes a good film and gets a hefty paycheck, is it wrong? Does the film becomes of any less value as the director got more money?

You know what Actor kamal hassan said in an interview i don't show my pain or tears as ppl think that also as acting when the interviewer asked about his broken relationship and its effects.

Celebs are also human beings. They too have same emotions like us. We can't say every good thing that an actor does is fake.

If he behaved bad, will you think that he is acting and its fake? Only when the celebrity does something good or says something good, ppl label it as fake.
