Above all, it sends out a message of hope that justice will prevail if women stand together in times of adversity."
The coveted script writer, Kamlesh Pandey, who has penned the story for the movie 'Rang De Basanti', has scribbled down the story for this show of Sahara One. He expresses his views on this soap, "SATI….Satya Ki Shakti is a meaningful subject which means the 'power of truth'. Character sketches of SATI
Sati Rajdan (played by Mansi Salvi)
Sati the protagonist is a fighter. She is brave, intelligent, has perseverance, tenacity, and guts. She has a strong moral core, which cannot tolerate any injustice. While she is a tough fighter, she has not lost her feminity. Most women in her profession lose their softness and become emotionless and even insensitive. Not Sati. Her feminine side surfaces when she is with a man she loves, when she is with her younger sister Anu or when she indulges in gossiping with her colleagues. She is not nasty, but has a dry sense of humour, which she uses with lethal effect on her adversaries.
Siddharth Raichand (played by Sandeep Rajora_
He is a maverick - a star lawyer who has shifted from London. He is flamboyant, stylish, sporty and a tremendous charmer. He is a person for whom every case is a game. He fights each case because there is a challenge to push the limits of existing legal interpretations. He does not get into the morality of the cases, for him, the more difficult the case, the more challenging it is. He also has a great sense of humour.
This will be a case of opposites attracting, as Sati and Siddharth are drawn to each other by the strange forces of chemistry and destiny. A love affair, which Sati will try to resist, but the inevitable will happen.
Rajdeep Sikand (played by Karan Mehra)
He is the firebrand TV journalist who has captured the imagination of the public. He is the honest face of television journalism. His small town upbringing has given him a set of small town values. Although slightly introvert when it comes to women, he is a man who commands tremendous respect though through his silence and his withdrawn presence. He is the silent lover and a good friend to Sati. At some stage he becomes embroiled in a triangular love story with Sati and Siddharth.
Smriti Thaku (played by Dimple Hirji)
The 34-year old single mother of an illegitimate teenage daughter, SAKSHI, (12 year old) Smriti is still quite beautiful. But she lacks the confidence to trust any man after her boyfriend walked out on her when she became pregnant. Sakshi keeps trying to pair her mother with men, something that embarrasses Smriti. Finally, Sakshi's efforts bear fruit and Smriti becomes interested in a young, honest, brave cop and encounter specialist--Avdesh Singh. Smriti was a student of law, but switched to interior decoration after she delivered Sakshi because it paid better. However, after she joins 'SWAYAM', she is sometimes pitted against Avdhesh in court cases. So her love life and her new career are often in conflict.
Priya Das (played by Dimple Inamdar)
If she hadn't been a lawyer, she would have been a movie star. She is a seductress. She is sexy and sensual and sees everything in the light of sex (She is willing to go on a date with the lawyer of the accused if it helps her win her client's case against him). Her favorite pastime is her one-night stands. She is nicknamed 'man-eater' by the gang at 'SWAYAM'. Despite her other traits, she possesses a brilliant and analytical legal mind.
Mishal Madhvani
Barely out of her teens and a law graduate, Mishal is the daughter of Mona Madhvani, the Cosmetic Queen, celebrated internationally for her herbal range, which is quite the rage. Mishal is the 'Sania Mirza' of law and is being groomed by Sati. She joined the firm because she had become disgusted with the fake world of her mother's beauty products and was in search of a simple life. When she joins the firm, all the women take her under their wing and each teaches her their special skills.
So what are you waiting for, just tune into Sahara One on Monday, 29th May at 8.00 p.m. to watch Sati, who is a happy go lucky third year law student a stage where colours, fun and dreams make up the fabric of life.
