Now I want to try something different so giving Rajender's pov... Hope you all like it.
So here it goes.
Rajender's pov.
I was on my way to Delhi with my son siddanth.
My car broke down in mid way.
My son got down and checked the engine.
I too got down from the car.
Sid said he cannot understand the problem and mechanic has to come.
In a distance we saw a middle aged person on two wheeler. He stopped near us understanding the problem and said there is no mechanic shop in this village and we may find one if we go to near by town.
As he said Sid took bus to near by town which is about 1/2hr travel away.
I was waiting in my car. Through open window a beautiful temple caught my sight.
It was on hill. I got down. It was almost 4pm. Being winter cold breeze was hitting my face. Since I was in Delhi from my childhood this climate is giving me thrill. Now I want to enjoy a cup of tea. But since it is village I didn't find any hotel in my eyesight.
I called sid. He said he would take another 45min to come. So I decided to go to one of my friends house in vrindavan. And said Sid to come there directly.
I saw a car and asked for lift. They said they too were going to same place and let me inside.
They were 4 in number. A couple and 2 young men.
The guy in the front seat said that he was going to see a bride for him. He asked me if even I can come as it is good to go in 5 for such places. Before I deny the man sitting next to me introduced him and the woman next to him as his wife. He invited me as it is good for them to have an elder person.
I accepted on one condition that they should tell truth about me. They agreed and smiled...
We also came for an alliance for my siddanth as suggested by friend. The family is well settled and educated. They are equal to us in status. But my heart is not accepting this would be a good alliance to my son. He completed his masters in general surgery and is working in manipal hospital. My friend said that they would build a nursing home for sid. I replied him I have good money with me and I can build a hospital for him. Inspite of loosing his mother I brought him up with all necessities I could give him. And now I want to bring wife for him and daughter to myself. In the girl I cannot see any of those qualities I expected. Her eyes were so careless and her parents were proud of their wealth.
Car stopped bringing the journey as well as my thoughts to halt.
We got down the car. The house was very simple yet beautiful. Garden in the front yard, rangoli in the entrance, flowers hanged in the entrance everything was so perfect.
3 people in mid-40ies welcomed us. Not with that formal hand shake but with traditional namashkar. They welcomed us with genuine smile.
They asked us to sit. The man who of that couple introduced every one to bride's father and felt genuinely difficult in introducing me. I introduced myself and said how I met them and my presence there. Every one laughed. He too introduced him as jamanlal.
A woman in saree came with home made kheer and onion pakoda.
Jamanlal introduced her as his wife Meena and other relatives too. He introduced his son in law Prem. Son of my friend where I was suppose to go if this program was not there. Anyway it is all a part of god's game I thought. Bride was brought to the hall by her elder sister.
Prem introduced his wife simar and bride as Roli.
She was beautiful. Than beautiful I would like to say perfect with all the qualities a girl should have.
She sat in chair next to her father.
Her father asked the groom about his family. He said he learnt that he lost his parents in a very young age and was brought up by his brother and babhi.
On hearing this I saw the groom's expression very uncomfortable.
He explained that now a days he is not staying with them and their relation is not good.
Meena said if they want they wish theycan talk to Roli.
Duo walked outside ...
After sometime they came in.
The boy sighed to his cousins to come out they discussed for a sometime.
Later returning inside one of them said that the groom liked the girl and she put him a condition. He will try to complete her wish if possible.
We all got up.
Even I was about to leave. But prem asked him to remain here and go to their house with him.
Those 4 also asked me to stay here as they are not going back to Delhi now. They left.
With no other option left I stayed there only.
They arranged chairs in the front yard between the garden and asked me to sit.
Me, prem and jamanlalji were chatting. I liked their company. There were no formal talks between us. It was all from heart.
In a while prem's wife came there...
She is very nice girl. She is perfect match for prem. She too sat next to her husband.
I wished even I get a girl like her to my Sid.
Jamanlalji got a call. He excused that he need to go to hospital as one of his relatives met with accident.
He asked simar to stay with her sister as it would become night for them to return.
Jamanlal and Meena left to hospital.
Me and prem were taking.
Roli came with tea cups and handed it to us.
With a smile I said just now we had and what was the need for all this.
She sat along with us pulling another chair.
She said that it would be very nice to enjoy tea in this climate.
We all laughed heartily.
I asked Roli about her studies. She said she did her PG in pediatrics and is working here in government hospital.
I asked her if I can know what condition she put to that guy who came to see her and only if she don't mind.
She laughed and said:" I grew up seeing my father. He is very generous person. I too Learnt that quality from him.
That guy was brought up by his bhaiyya and babhi and now say relationship between them is not good. So I asked him to talk with them and come here along with his bhaiyya and babhi." Saying this she collected the cups from us and said she will prepare dinner for them.
I kindly refused and said I would leave in another 15 min after my son come.
She was adamant and said she liked me a lot and she want to prepare her favorite dish and want appreciation from him in return. She went inside with a smile on her face.
After sometime Sid reached the house with my directions.
He came inside. Prem hugged him as they were meeting after a long time. They shared a good time. Roli and simar prepared dinner and called us.
All 3 of us sat down to eat.
Roli prepared malai kofta and aloo tikka. They were Sids favorite dishes.
As she said food was highly appreciable.
We completed our dinner.
Since Roli and Sid were under same stream they easily could mingle with each other.
Few minutes later Jamanlal and his wife reached the house.
Later asking about their relative's health I thanked him.
On prem's insistence me, Sid, prem and simar left to their house.
Jamanlal and his wife and Roli stood at the gate bidding us good bye with a smile.
We all 4 reached my friend's house, that is prem's house.
Surrender seeing us came and hugged me.
Simar asked if surrender had his dinner and medicine. And he nodded yes.
We sat and spoke in general for sometime.
Simar went inside to do her household while we were still talking.
Sid sighed to me that we are getting late. So finally I got up.
But surrender at any cost was not ready to let us go. And prem said he want to say something to them.
Finishing her work simar too came.
Prem started:" uncle I want to propose Roli for Sid ". He saw Sid. They both shared a smile.
Simar: yes uncle we feel they both make a perfect couple.
Surrender: yes Rajendra. I have her in my mind for Sid from very long. You are seeing simar right she is also like her only.
While everyone were saying their opinion on Roli I was in my own world. Infact I myself want talk about this to prem once after reaching Delhi.
I felt Sid should be lucky to get such girl as his wife. But still being a father I need his approval too. I saw him in tension to know the answer. His face showed he is very happy about the proposal and assured me to proceed further.
I said to prem that we should be fortunate to get such girl as Sid wife. I accepted happily.
We stayed there only that night as we planned to go meet them formally the next day.
Next day we went to jamanlalji's house formally to ask roli's hands for Sid. All elders were happy. But I did not feel any excitement in Roli's face. I said her if she has got anything to say in this.
She nodded no.
Still not satisfied I asked if she want to talk to Sid alone. She nodded yes.
Both went outside.
I was very much tensed as what will happen.
After sometime both came inside laughing.
I was relieved. Now I can see happiness on Roli's face which I was wishing for.
I was happy seeing them together. I wished long life for both inside my heart.
Roli went near Simar and gave her side acceptece. She said he accepted my condition.
Now I and Sid left their house with satisfaction.
In car I asked Sid what was Roli's condition.
Sid laughed and told me that I should take her here every weekend so that she can spend time with her parents and sister and also her patients.
I too laughed along with Sid.
As soon as I reached Delhi .I told my mother and showed Roli's photo to her. She happily agreed and she contacted pandit and asked to fix a muhurt as soon as possible.
He came with a date in 15 days.
I asked Sid if that is ok for him... He said that was too late.
I expected this from him. Infact I too want Roli to step into our house soon. I said Roli's family about the muhurt in15days and asked their acceptance. They happily agreed.
We all waited impatiently for marriage day. That day came. Roli formally joined her hands with sid. I felt proud on Sid when he stood as her moral support while she was coming with us leaving her parents and sister. I also felt proud for selecting such a good wife to Sid.
She entered our house with all rituals with the help of mataji.
In few days she got well accustomed in our house.
She proved I was not wrong in selecting her as bahu of ths house. She looked after the family very well. She used to pass orders to me and mataji when it comes to health. She respected every advice and decisions of us.
She made our lives beautiful.
Now another person is coming to add more colors in our lives.
Roli gave birth to a baby girl as symbols of ROSID love.
Door bell rings...
Oh I think they have come. So bye bye...
Ha and bless the couple and child.
