SGP Discussion of the week:

What according to you is the intention of including the Mumbai track in the show?I've been thinking about this a long time, why did they include Sona into the picture if they really wanted to show how Suhana and Ishaan lead their own life without the help of the family in an unknown city(according to the Mumbai meri jaan promo)?

I have read many posts earlier saying that the CVs are really addressing a sensitive issue and passing on a social message with the inclusion of the Sona track.Do you think so?

When teh track was first introduced, even i thought of the same.maybe to pass on a social message, the makers have included the domestic violence track, but now seeing the way the track is being concluded,I really don't think they had ANY intention of that sort. What i think is they just introduced the track so that they could introduce more tension between Suhana and Ishaan to drag the story. The way the track has been scripted, the writers have smartly weaved the track in such a way that more than passing on a social message against domestic violence,it creates more rift and trouble between the leads of the show which equals to amazing TRPs.People love watching the leads life in trouble, don't they?

So what do you think about the track? Why was it introduced?
To make Suhana more mature?
To show growth in the relationship of Suhana-Ishaan?
To create a rift between Suhana-Ishaan?
To address a serious issue like domestic violence?

Lets make this the discussion of the week. What say?

P.S-This is just a discussion topic. There will be different opinions. Please indulge in constructive discussion and don't go overboard with disagreements/name calling and sarcastic comments.

Excellent excellent topic Shounak . I was thinking the same .but rather then shedding light on what there intention was ( according to me there wasn't any intention besides getting the trp for pati patni who track) I would say that they totally missed all the opportunities to explore all the points you mentioned . The characters went down rather then raising up to the situation , apart from trp no body gained anything ...the actors didnt get any opportunity to shine except Sona and Abhishek, Ragini and Jay didn't do anything which they haven't done before .
All in all nothing improved rather the characters went down the hill .

Nice post shounak

When I first saw the Mumbai promo I was excited that the show might turn to a positive direction because they might show some realistic situations of kids moving away from home and Suhana-Ishan leading separate lives. When they were in Sneha and her hubby's house it seemed like they were going some places but are Sona was reintroduced to everything started going downhill👎🏼 I did hope that they would have shown a logical progress of the domestic abuse track but it was a disaster the I'm glad that it's over now

I didn't care much for the misunderstanding part because I have been watching TV shows and serials all of my life and every single show has had this shock and deceive type of track so I was expecting it🥱 and I'm glad that's over now too. What did bother me was the way comedy was utilized in this, I for one couldn't for the life of me stand that Bijlani fool, I would take a hundred Madhuris for that one Bijlani and the way Suhana and Ishan were fighting like childish idiots rather than married adults

The writers could have done wonders with this Mumbai track with Suhana and Ishan being alone in Mumbai with some day to day type issues like adjusting to the lifestyle in Mumbai, maybe some family planning or trying to show Suhana in the workplace or something, something along those lines would have been great. In Delhi however the only thing after BP track that I liked was Ishika-Rano par track bc that was wonderfully done

Nice post... I think the makers didn't want it to make a very serious track so included humor here & there... BP track was completely serious but most of the people were not satisfied with that...so perhaps they made it a little bit funny...
But the track is not over yet... Abhishek might come back to take a revenge from Ishaan-Sona...

Nobody comes back o take revenge in SGP ... we havent seen anybody yet !!! wether its Sid, RB,s husband, BP or even Abhishek, his part is done, and everybody lives happily ever after. If calling one,s father on his face " Aap toh chup he rahiyee several times is comedy then I dont like comedy.
Bijlani was, is and will be the worst character of SGP in 500 episodes, so so annying and artificial . No connection with reality.

seemaji i am sure abhishek will come back to take revenge from ishaan and suhana will get hurt in all this ...either like a filmy heroine she'll come in between ishaan and abhishek to save ishaan and get hurt...or abhishek will say like an eye for an eye...so he will hurt suhana so that ishaan feels the pain of living away from his wife...all this is just my assumption.

@Bold -- Sheema Di...👍🏼 agree with you totally... worst ever character...
@Shwets... Both are equally worst... but Shashikala's husband was in couple epis only... but Bijlani... is here since Mumbai track started... and CVs are still giving him scenes that too with Alok... 🥱🤓
