"thanks, coffee bohat achi thi," Suhana said leading Ayaan into her flat

"no problem, waise aaj toh record baan gaya ke tumne chup chap coffee pe li, remember Delhi mein tum perfect coffee ke chakar mein do-teen cup toh aise hi phekh deti thi," Ayaan said before adding,"Suhana tum sure ho Ishaan ko koi problem nahin hoga mere dinner pe yun achanak aane se?" ayaan carried Suhana's shopping bags into her kitchen.

"of course not, woh possessive type nahin hai, anyways tum bolo tumhe kya khana hai, mein maid ko bol dungi woh bana degi," Suhana said.

"tumhara favourite rajma chawal chale ga," Ayaan replied remembering how much Suhana loved that dish.

"wow tumhe yaad hai,"Suhana smiled saying,"I also remember tumhari favourite dish...its still paneer kofta na?"

"yes" Ayaan replied. He was happy that even after all this time Suhana had atleast remembered his likes.

"Madhuri! Madhuri!" Suhana called but there wasn't a reply,"God ye ab kahan chali gayi," Suhana went to look for Madhuri when she found a note on the dining table reading:

"Memsaab mere ko kuch
urgent kaam ah gaya
isliye mein ghar ja rahi hai.
Aaj aap manage karlo

Madhuri"

"OMG how dare she?" Suhana said shocked

"Kya hua?" Ayaan asked

"Madhuri apne ghar chali gayi..ab khana kaun banaye ga?" Suhana said looking sad

"Is mein upset hone wali kaun si baat hai, mein bana dunga," Ayaan said.

"no no tum nahi bana sakte, tum guest ho aur badi maa kehti hai 'athithi devo bhava' or something like that meaning ke yane ke guest God jaise ho, isliye tum nahin bana sakte...ab hotel se take away mangana padhega..." Suhana said while Ayaan smiled gazing at her adorably cute pout.

"Suhana it's ok, mujhe chef samaj ke khana bana ne ke paise de dena, mein itna bhi bura khana nahin bana ta, promise," Ayaan said convincing Suhana.

"Ok," Suhana agreed,"chalo kitchen mein, I just hope tumhara paneer kofta aur roti mere paneer kofta aur roti se better ho,"

"Waise Suhana, ye Badi Maa kaun hai," Ayaan asked rememberingthe way Suhana spoke 'Badi Maa' it sounded like she was addressing her own mother.

"Badi Maa is Ishaan ki badi maa aur mere liye mom ki tarah hai, she's such a lovely person, actually meri poori family itni amazing hai, tumhe unse milna chahiye," Suhana said, her face fell. Ayaan sensed that she missed them, these people must be amazing for (a) they handled Suhana and her tantrums well and (b) for bringing about such changes in Suhana, they filled the one gap in her life that her Dad's money and Ayaan's friendship couldn't, which was of a family

"Suhana apne haath apne pockets mein dal lo warna jal jayenge." Ayaan said taking Suhana's hands and pinning them to her sides. She had twice nearly burnt her hands while trying to 'help' Ayaan making roti.

"Ayaan, tum abhi bhi woh perfume laga te ho jo mujhe itna pasand hai?" Suhana asked. The proximity between them has allowed Suhana to catch a wiff of the perfume she had once gifted Ayaan 4 years ago and Ayaan had since used only that brand of perfume.

Ayaan blushed a little before adding,"woh mujhe bhi acha lagta hai," before turning things back to a lighter note by saying,"par agar tum apne brand ka Suhana Bajpai, SB ka perfume launch karogi toh shayad mein woh bhi kharid lunga," Ayaan grinned. He had done perfume shopping with Suhana once when she had tried almost every perfume in the shop but didnt like any and therefore shouted at the manager of the store for stocking these perfumes and declared that she would launch her own fragrance soon. Obviously that plan hadn't yet materialized.

"Mera mazak udha ne mein bohat maza ah raha hai?" Suhana asked smiling a little. Just then the doorbell rang.

"It must be Ishaan," Suhana said heading to open the door.

Ayaan went into his own world seeing a dream he had pictured so long ago of one day returning tired from work to find Suhana opening the door and greeting him with her signature million dollar smile...

The smell of burnt roti bough Ayaan back to reality. Thinking like this about Suhana isn't right he thought, she's married now, very happily married.

"Suhana ye Mr Bijlani kya bakwaas kar rahe hai ke tumhara kisi ke saath affair chal raha hai, koi handsome ladka humare flat mein tumhare saath aaya tha," Ishaan said loosening his tie and handing his briefcase to Suhana. One of these days he was going to beat up Mr Bijlani.

"woh handsome ladka mein hoon," Ayaan said coming into the hall wearing Suhana's apron and sporting some atta on his cheek.

Ishaan looked at Suhana questioning as she continued smiling looking at Ayaan. Ishaan cleared his throat.

"oh Ishaan this is Ayaan , mere 6^th grade ka friend jiske saath mein college jati thi, actually aaj mujhe market mein mila tha toh meine usko dinner pe invite kiya tha par will you believe, uss Madhuri ki bachi ne day off le liya, mujhe inform kiye bina, ye toh acha hai ki ayaan ko cook karna ata hai warna mujhe cook karna padhta," Suhana said as Ishaan shuddered at the thought of Suhana's food.

"waise dinner tayar hai," Ayaan declared, "oh by the way Suhana ne intro de toh diya hai but I'm Ayaan," Ayaan said holding out his hand for Ishaan to shake but Ishaan didn't.

"don't mind but mujhe apne haath pe atta nahin lagana hai," Ishaan said pointing out the atta on Ayaan's hands.

"oh sorry," Ayaan said.

"tum done fresh ho jao aur mein khana serve karti hoon," Suhana said

"Suhana are...are you sure," Ayaan asked looking uncertain

"haha bohat acha joke tha," Suhana said sarcastically,"now shut up and get ready for dinner...bathroom udhar hai...tumhare cheek pe atta hai wash it off"

Ayaan headed into the bathroom and as he washed off the atta he thought about Ishaan. He couldn't quite believe this was Suhana's Ishaan, he was so opposite to Sid and yet Suhana loved him so much. In college Suhana used to always say she will marry a rich, handsome guy who earns more than she spends and who will treat her like a princess, yet Ishaan hardly had all these qualities but Suhana was so happy with him. What does he have that I don't Ayaan thought but immediately shook his head as though trying to shake out the thought, Suhana is married Ayaan thought, she's not mine anymore.

BTW I read it and once again I loved how you've captured Suhana as her self (not like the CVs with her stupidness) but her innocence remained intact. glad u say that coz i do try to do that...keep the story n characters similar to how they are in the show...just add Ayaan to it...
Once again I could almost imagine a scene like this and I loved how you kept it subtle with the perfume😳 that was a original and unique touch😳 thx i dont wanna go overboard with filmy Suhana-Ayaan scenes...trying to keep it simple n pure...Suhana is happily married to Ishaan and Ayaan's intentions aren't bad...

and I ROFLed at Ayan and Ishan meeting with the atta🤣 haha i wanted their first meeting to be funny...different from the usually meeting the guest type of intro...coming home n seeing a guest cooking with Suhana was a lil zara hatke...
