I really wanted to start a topic on "consistency". So here it is,
I will start by mentioning a quote : "Variety's the very spice of life". I think many of us will agree that variety is very important in our life. We need to bring change in our life. We cannot live with the same old routine. We need something different every day. The same thing applies to SGP. Most of us got hooked on to SGP because of the "variety" factor in it. It is different from every other show on TV. It is different and that's what makes it special for all of us. That could also be the reason we are hooked up with this show even now, when most of us are unhappy with the things that are showed these days.
Now I am wondering : Is it really that difficult to maintain consistency?
Here is an instance:
I am a student who truly loves studying. I love going to school, learning something new and working on it. (I am saying this from my heart). However, a week ago (around that time) I started taking school a bit casually. I began reducing the time I spent on school work. (Around the time I said I am going on a break, which I still haven't managed too. ) On Friday last week, I came to know that I did really bad in a test in Math. (* It is a really BAD score for me ). I was shocked and kind of heart broken. I have now tightened up my screws and am now studying dedicatedly once again.
I guess SGP creatives are experiencing a similar thing. They are taking SGP a bit casually (* I am not blaming them. It is a natural human thing*). They are relaxing. Don't you think it is a bit too stressful for them to work for so long and come up with episodes which are longer than what they are used too. I guess it definitely takes a lot of effort. I think it is just a phase. They need something like a shock to make a comeback.
We also have had instances where people were out of character. They said or did things that were seriously out of character. We also had instances where they made some major bloopers.
There are only two things we can do:
(i) Complain - Complain till we are heard. But we end up feeling angry and disgusted.
(ii) Not spoil our mood - Not spoil our mood thinking about the crappy episodes.
My QUESTION TO ALL - Is it difficult to maintain consistency? What could be some of the reasons why the creatives are doing what they are? Why do you think things are not similar to what they were? What were your views on SGP then and now?
(Please Note - I am not trying to justify what the creatives are doing. I am not telling you not to comment against the creatives. I just don't think the episodes are worth spending our time thinking about them. )
