Ragini's not quitting 'Sasural Genda Phool'

Actor Ragini Khanna is basking in the glory of being in demand on the silver as well as small screen.

Actress Ragini Khanna is currently enjoying her professional high. "I am busy with so much work that I hardly sleep for more than three hours a day. But it is all my choice and this is the reason I never crib, nor do I pray to God ki mujhe neend de do. Not many actors of my age enjoy this kind of stardom," says Ragini who was in Lucknow on Monday for the promotion of her upcoming film. "Being famous on television doesn't mean that I can't be famous in movies. I don't fear being typecast as a TV actor and not getting roles in movies. The medium of work has never been my worry. I want to be typecast as an actor," she adds.

Ragini, who is now famous as Suhana of " Sasural Genda Phool", sets all rumours of her exit from the serial to rest as she says, "It is not at all true that I'm quitting the show. In fact, I can't quit this serial. The unexpected turn in the story with my character suffering from brain tumour is part of the script. Suhana is my life and I can't afford to lose my life. I will be very much alive in the serial. And the serious turn of events in the script will not even change my character and I will remain the same old chirpy and bubbly Suhana."

Real Emotions
The whole nation was in the grips of the cricket fever during the World Cup and Ragini was no exception. "I have never seen a single cricket match before the World Cup final, live or on TV, can you believe it?" she says, adding, "Mujhe yakeen nahi ho raha tha that a well-behaved person like me was acting so crazy in front of so many people. I had no control over me that evening when India won the Cup."

And with so much happening on the professional front, we wonder if her personal life is just as happening. "Well, I actually don't have a personal life, thanks to my professional commitments. I keep too busy to have a life beyond work," she replies.

But what about the rumours of her relationship status as being committed? "If you are asking about my relationship status, I would just like to say that the charm lies in the mystery surrounding her. So, the fact that I am dating someone or not will come to light only when I marry," she winks. Hmmm... So, is marriage on the cards, Ragini? "I doubt if any boy would like to have a super busy wife like me who doesn't even have time for him," she jokes.
