Wow venture..............this is too good a post yaar..👏👏👏 thot provoking.....!!
Well...i agree wit all ur thots...n well my two cents would be.... well every father/parent wants to settle their daughter in a 'Well-to-do' family where the guy is mostly better qualified than the girl and the family more comfortable than the girls.....
While doing so i think..its the responsibility of the parents to also ensure that the gap is not too big.....so much so that neither the thots..nor the values n the morals dont match...!! N this is one very delicate a responsibility...
While i m all for 'better future' for the girl in a more well-to-do family..i believe that even in families where the guy is just at par wit the girls family or a lil less.....if the family is good...........the 'status' should not matter...
Prime example of this is SGP...n our Sushaan......where the girl is TECHNICALLY in a lesser well to do family than her own....but we all know....what a priceless family it is..now...dont we 😛

Not only LINKED , he has to pay everything, and evry months I get PMT,s and he gets PBT ( post bill tension).
And I am only ONE CARD person just like one bill paying man (husband!!!!
.)

As far as the topic is concerned what Panna,s mother in law said in last night episode , rings a very familiar bell of NAW DOLATIYAS. You should keep away from them as they are neither here or there, money with out morals and education makes you arogant as hell.

@Venture- Very good post.👍🏼
I read it few days back and since then i wanted to reply but got the chance now. well better late than never . 😉

I didnt go thru all the others replies. Here are my two cents.

1) I agree that the main point of marriage is that it brings two people together for life. But again it is valid only to a certain extent in India. Bcoz in India , it is not only about two different people coming together it is abt two families(cultures) coming together.

2) coming off age love marriages are increasing but still the majority of the ppl either be it a love or arranged a girl always has to accept the whole family as the part of her daily life.

3) Now if it was to be a love marriage , u have to accept a middle class, poor or rich family. When it is for arranged then the father or the mother will do all sorts of investigations i guess.

4) good observation that kashyaps gave Panna to a rich family, was it a love marriage for panna and rounak ? and they were ready to bring suhana from a rich family to their middle class family.

I wonder why didnt they think whether suhana wud adjust to this middle class lifestyle plus Panna wud be comfortable but sad that her saas still thinks of her a middle class.
