Anu - I concur with you. Ishaan doesn't expect Suhana to love him back. At least, not yet. He selflessly loves her and does everything within his power to make her happy. But I still think that he's holding out the hope that one day she'll love him back, and not leave him.

Was a poignant...epi...n i culd feel the heaviness in Ishus heart while saying this to Suhana...

Ditto yaar....I could feel the heaviness in his heart too....but it was so poignant, so touching! I just LOVE how well they've written the characters, the scenarios in this show....they truly touch your heart!

And this isn't even about making Ishaan's love for Suhana sound all "mahaan" and all but it's something understandable.....he's always seen past the surface when it comes to Suhana....he's felt connected to her vulnerabilities, her soft, innocent side since even before they got married.....and so he loves her....even though he knows that she has other expectations and aspirations about the kind of guy she wants....that doesn't change the way he feels about her.....that's a constant for him.

Of course he wants Suhana, and of course he fears losing her - because he's obviously besotted with her enough to agree with Suhana's insane plan of allowing her to stay with him in this meaningless marriage. He cares for her enough to stay awake the entire night when she is upset. He is patient enough to see through her tough exterior and see her inherent goodness. He likes her enough to abide by her rules. He loves her enough to hurt himself, just to see her happy :-)

Edit: Indeed he's a guy in love with his wife ...

You just made me fall in love with him a million times over! Thanks 😛

And I just loved the dialogues for this scene.....fantastically written! And Jai did a fabulousssssssss job in this scene!

@LadyM: I kinda disagree....yes he is besotted with her and maybe on some hopeless level he might hold out a teeny tiny hope....but on a practical level, he really doesn't have any expectations of her loving him in that manner....he has resigned himself to it and chooses to love her selflessly anyways....to do everything he can to make her happy. So I didn't find that dialogue to be contradictory....I think it did display his state of mind.

i know anu.. *sigh* aise ladke kahan hote hai yaar aajkal? hmmm... he is such a sweetheart!

n i agree with u totally.. i don't really think he expects anything from suahana...

even if she does little things like in that tie scene.. he feels happy..or once in a while he dreams about zoobi doobi.. 😆 but other than that he has kind of accepted the fact that suhana doesn't love him! he just loves her anyhow.. aww he is a cutieee!!

how can suahan not fall in love with him.. *sigh*
chalo like suhana herself said in the precap..wo tubelight hai 😆 time lagega 😆

@bold: That's what I said too, LadyM....that in some corner of his heart, he does allow that hope to be there.....it's only human after all....why wouldn't you want someone you love to love you back as well.....but I'm saying in general, on a practical level he's accepted and resigned himself to the fact that she doesn't love him.....that is what he meant by 'na kuch khone ka darr hai'.....I think all this stems from around the time of the muh dikhaayi when he'd all but resigned himself to accept that she was leaving....but she didn't......I don't think he lives in some kind of constant fear that she'll leave him....I think he expects that she will one day anyways....which is why he said, 'aakhir rishta hi kya hai humaare beech?"....and Suhana had no reply to that either......ofcourse we all know that with time things will change...but at this point in time, I do understand why Ishaan is saying that he has no expectations.

Ditto. Ditto to both of you. It WAS such a moving scene. No wonder even Suhana had tears in her eyes and so did Ishaan. I felt like pulling Ishaan's cheeks and giving him a comforting hug 😆

Very well said Anu 👏 I never meant he lived in that constant fear either ... but you said it all, and better :-)

I think the hope that u feel he has is unknown to him as this happens very naturally....when in love... u get attached so badly to that person...however selfless one may be... the soul still keeps some hopes without telling the mind.... though he won't admit possibly as it is still unknown to him... this reality surfaces when one actually loses the person whom he loves.....so i feel u r right....

The show just showed that interaction, relationship building, between leads can happen without eye-locking session and that too so beautifully. Ishaan did most of the talking, but Suhana did understand what he was talking about.

I forgot to add, this frank talk from Ishaan rather than pointing fingers has laid the foundation of a strong relationship. 😊

LOL An - true! I cannot imagine IS having a dramatic bijlee chamking scene in the background ... Another thing to note is that inspite of being in love with Suhana, Ishaan casually touches her, and there is no dhan, dhan, dhan whatever b.s. ...

Manali totally totally love your post yaar... Mmmuuuaaa to you... Ishaan's sensibility and the way he had a matured but at the level child like Suhana can understand and appreciate PLUS listened through his long bhaashan and Suhana analysis was fantabulous (love using this term Laxmi 😃)

When Ishaan said Hum donon ke beech rishtha hi kya hai, it directly hit Suhana. I loved the expression she gave. It kinda touched her deep down in her heart... only Ragz could have done justice to that scene and no one else. What a seasoned actress she is...

Poor Suhana.. she has no idea she hurt bhabhis feelings 😆 The beauty of Suhana character is her child like innocence. If that innocence is killed, the character is dead... The CTs must maintain that innocence of Suhana 😳

She is too quick to fix her mistake when she realizes it. Aisi lovable character se kya naaraaz hona? 😳😳😳
