The creatives have once again proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are incorrigible and irredeemable in their ham handed approach and inept treatment of the plot ideas as well as the prime characters and their relationship and function purely based on their rooted prejudices. The start of the Mumbai sequence presented a hopeful sign and now they have taken the cliched path again and its execution shows signs of bleak prospects. First of all the premise of the Mumbai track itself is irrational and due to lazy writing as our cvs never care to establish proper grounds for any issue. Saras despite being the eldest son and heir of LN's business empire set out to expand VC's small scale trade in Mumbai. (In fact all brothers have dedicated their career to VC's business). Our writers have never been pragmatic or logical in dealing with any matter, problem or situation. Now the show has a new format and more contemporary scenario. Introducing change calls for freshness in script, new storyline, well-thoughtout execution that fits the genre and well-etched new characters. However the storyline appears too far-fetched now. Is the theme suspense thriller or murder mystery? Cvs have again opted for the the conventional cliche formula of 'obsession' even for this new setup. 'Stalking' or obsession has been a dominant and recurring idea by cvs. ( Kalika with Pramad, Pramad w kumud, Kusum w saras, jugnu w kumud, now prashant w kumud). Moreover stalking and separation are two main things the cvs are milking to shift the focus to saras and kumud which would be invariably followed by their share of trails and tribulations in overcoming the hurdles culminating in unwarranted heavy drama with sporadic samud touching moments thrown in. All their plot ideas are too contrived and appalling indeed. The plot would be neither perfectly coherent nor the seamless integration of sequences and events, hence no finesse to the tracks. But they come up with cute and poignant samud moments few and far between to entice the fans and to alleviate the overall damage. This is their standard operating procedure. They can never forgo the concept of recycle and reuse and also the lack of consistency and logic in their script. W.r.t to the current track creating an engaging suspense drama or mystery requires practice, skill and tight plotting. Prashant is the key mystery angle and his motivations and character need to be explored by developing context and conflict in a realistic and logical way. The indispensable saras and kumud should be the central focus and this sequence should strike a fine balance between prashant angle and samud life. The actor must be proficient and clever enough to play a deranged, potentially dangerous person without stock expressions. This track needs more prominent characters (not idling) to partake in the story and proceedings. But here the predictability, no possibilities of different outcomes, no thrills, surprises, suspense, mediocre portrayal, no backstory makes for uninteresting and unpleasant viewing. Writers always attempt to explore the theme which is not their forte. We have a villain to hate, rant on and bash while our cvs have kumudsundari in reserve as stand-in 'deputy'. The writers never cease to resort to the constant character butchery of kumud and misrepresent her on their whim to suit bizarre situations and unreasonable purposes. Is it a deliberate attempt to exalt saras, the eponymous character by way of making kumud lose originality? Thus she gets to face viewers ' wrath and brickbats. I wonder why cvs fail to gauge how this victimisation adversely affects the strong bonding of saras and kumud which is the core aspect of the show. They share true compatibility. Writers in a bid to establish conflict between them exploit the pretty run-of-the-mill 'miscommunication' and the resultant 'misunderstanding' which is at best tenuous and too insubstantial w.r.t to samud not in conformity with their core characteristics and their strong, committed relationship and their survival against all odds in their tumultuous life situations. Of course conflict is the one that drives the story, but here it should be the antagonist or the circumstances, not the couple themselves. In a nutshell fans don't want kumud - the enigma either highly strung or insecured or even obtuse and the superficial stereotypical handling of samud relationship. Parallel tracks can coexist but here the setback is it doesn't interrelate with the main plot. By the looks of things the main sequence may be sidetracked by the potential love angle which may get extra footage. The whole track is full of silly hackneyed rehash, delusional characters, ott performances and lazy scripting which results in more than half of the episode remaining as filler. Unfortunately at times both sequences seem trite and irrelevant. It is obvious that the creatives are stuck in a rut and are losing their direction. The makers must realise that it is incumbent on them to act and get a good set of writers on board who focus on quality.
Very well said lal04, was missing your posts the last few days.
I fully agree with your view that, making Prashant out to be the senseless evil ( yet again😡) makes it just a rehash of what's been done before! A back story that unravelled by and by, some characters that enriched the Mumbai track, would have added novelty.
The only character they added was the aunty, who would have been interesting, but for some reasons the writers just rushed into revealing her story as the poor lonely woman abandoned by kids - ghisa pita again!
I think they moved to Mumbai, because to create a fake Gujarat was also too much for our dear cvs. As it is RN had been severely compromised for they had neither the creativity nor the desire to maintain the enchanting haveli with its beautiful poolside and beautiful old world charm, nor did they want to recreate the small village atmosphere, so RN spiraled into a biggish town overnight.
Now the scenes just shifted to Mumbai, so that even that farce of being in a different place can be thrown out!
RN scenes are just to provide comic relief, with hopelessly etched characters of anushka and kabir, and severely compromised characters of kusum and Danny, Gunial seems to have quit the show, and rightly so, since she really was the worst portrayed in all this.
As for why are the three scions of 10,000 crore business struggling in RN with a small factory? Because to create a fake Dubai and a rich household abroad would require money , creativity and intelligence, and our cvs don't really have any of the three I guess !
And so we shall get some tomfoolery from RN and same, obsessive lover- misunderstanding- fight- seperation- realisation- rescue- together till the next obsessive lover from Mumbai!
