Well i am not a lawyer, just know a bit from hearsay
So, if the divorce is by mutual consent, no allegations of any misdemeanor
Then they are advised to undergo a trail separation - a sort of cooling off , then the divorce is final
If one party wants a divorce and the other doesn't, then counseling is advised till some consensus is reached
This is if there are no allegations
If it's a case of harassment and abuse, divorce is granted and criminal proceeding may be initiated
As for this judge sahiba denying divorce because of coughing and repenting - it's senseless
Every criminal I am sure repents and pleads for mercy, as an exit option, but a court of law goes by evidence and not emotion
If her life has been endangered by him, she must be protected, his coughing doesn't make him less of a threat
How can she be asked to go back to him? Or at least stay tied to him
