I am like the new kid on the block here. You really do write really well. But I think 7 is a bit generous for the epi. It was some sort of a joke of an epi. I know hospital scenes arent the forte for indian dramas but this one really did take the cake. I mean what surgery and where? Not a scratch on her body. And the funny thing about kalikas demand is that its not even there. Like cvs couldnt think of anything but just had to pull off that done to death trick. Her jobs done and saras is going to do whatever she says just because he said so? She has nothing more to offer like shes going to take her blood back now. Like wth.
And what is up with dukhba... what is saras going to do if the doctors cant. If that was the case he should have just talked and cried infront of her from the beginning instead of the operation drama.
And omg the pact. Like really? That reminded me of chuck and Blair where she does the whole god pact thing. Doesnt work but works like an elastic for the "I am not worthy of you" phase. First saras then kumud then saras now again kumud and back and forth. The "worthy" one is ready to pounce! * hint hint. Haha
Sorry for the long rant but yesterday's epi was just cringe worthy. The only saving grace was gautam! Thank god for that.

Agree with you on some points. The doc was a joke. The ER a bigger joke.

The pact with kalika - I agree, not needed.

But I think the cvs needed to create a doori, and fear of Kumud dying was the only big thing that had the power to scare Saras enough to create a doori.

The problem is that Saras and Kumud love is so strong that only they can break it. So CVs will create situations where Saras or Kumud will feel compelled to stay away.

Abhi, creativity of CVs is a bit limited in that department, so we shall get hackneyed plots.

But, my mantra is focus on Saras and Kumud, enjoy every good thing you find, baki jaane do.

True Anki, docs usually on our shows are dumb, this one takes the cake, and the hospital was so shoddy. But Sauda - I don't know where the cvs are going with this sauda with kalika.

And to leave it hanging? Pata nahi kya Gul khilane wale hain yeh

But Saras ki kasam - I get that. That's how he would react, it matched his character

@Yattri: The whole hospital setting itself was laughter worthy! I would make a harsh parody out of it if I have to. But Kumud's accident and miraculous recovery are not the high points of the episode. In terms of the narrative, it's Kalika's opportunity to do a Shylock and Saras to go back to square one viz., "disaster strikes the ones I love so I should distance myself." This whole premise itself is so absurd that I hope Kumud again does her magic to get him out of this primeval chaotic opinion.

@Shanti ji: I understand that he's frustrated with the 'play of fate' but my analogy was that, if a mother loves a kid who has a congenital disorder, will she blame her fate and make promises to leave the child if s/he gets better? I know this is a loose example but the point is I don't know how he fails to understand a simple logic that correlation is not equal to causation.

@Arshi ji: Thanks for elaborating. Somehow I feel that the CVs 'force' this schism under flimsy premises!

Shrija , I know this Saras ki kasam is being played once too often, and so seems forced.

This trait of Saras also makes him very self absorbed and makes us wonder, if after marriage something like this had happened, would he still have walked away , what if it happened to his own kid, would he still walk away?

A very very flawed logic, and an unhealthy tendency to blame himself and shun Kumud every time a crisis occurs.

But this is what he is made up of. And cvs are not able to show his progress in this respect, so they keep falling back on this.

As usual you are infinitely better than the CVs..

Apologies for sounding so cynical...but I don't think the CVs really bothered to look into the psyche, personality, backstory & context of saras character to make him act the way he did...

This was a simple shot in the dark...on the lines of what else can we do today to keep them separate...then some smart alec said lets throw in a Jab Tak Hai Jaan...but our copy ..er... version will be 'hatke'...how?...our hero will take the pledge...High Five!

So true Hgg. I can imagine a cv room discussion on these lines.

But I shall choose to be blind for now, and believe what I want to 😊

Arshi-

If at all I decide to give some credit to the fantastic and laughable notion that the CVs have thought this through and have a plan...ROFL...

...Ok ...Back again...

...Then I would probably go with Shanthi's explanation that it was a desperate act of a person who blames himself all that is wrong with Kumud, starting from the infamous phone-call...

...and a resultant desperate barter... I will sacrifice / give to you what I hold most dear (Kumud's love and desire to be with her for all time) as an offering in return for Kumud's life...The fact that what he sacrifices and what he wants rescued are intrinsically tied to the same person is a paradox that fails to strike him...

And not so much on his childhood...

Because If we look at Saras psyche...
- he lost his mother in front of his eyes despite his entreaties ..
- therefore he felt (i) someone he loved unconditionally rejected his love (ii) whomsoever he loves will wilfully desert him
- therefore he will never attempt to get close to anyone, thereby preventing the hurt.

Which is a different nuance...

Neways...What difference does it make?
CVs are ROFL right now ...thinking we made a tukka...and lo behold!...these are the reasons why we showed what we did...

Lage Raho Munna Bhaiyo & Beheno...

Hgg ji,

So, Saras stayed back at VC's well after revealing his intention of NOT marrying Kumud. At that point I felt like he was giving a lazy excuse(building the school) to stay back and 'let' Kumud breach past his citadel, more like a wishful thinking. Because, during that mandhir scene (after Kumud bails him out from jail), he repeatedly gets intrigued and keeps prodding Kumud as to why she saved him. And then the revelation that "there's something between the two of us" forced him to distance himself further all because of that absurd thought of him being a bad omen to people he loves. Why not just leave at that point? I think he found solace in her companionship that let him 'bypass' that crazy thought for awhile. Again, when the going gets tough, all that build up of positive energy(thanks to Mai and Kumud) falls down crumbling. It's a character flaw here but the way it's been used in this accident scenario for the estrangement to happen for the frikkin' millionth time doesn't sound convincing. At least to me.😕
