With all the kumud & kusum bashing...aren't we all forgeting their perspective is basis the context of the novel?

If it came across as 'bashing' I apologise... Intent was merely to convey subjective impact.

1) We all agreed with kumud in the past when she decided to make her marriage work.

Affirmative. But between then and now, things have changed. Kusum has arrived. Kalika has become more of an adversary than ever before. An outright rival. Saraswatichandra is being called for to give attendance. And we still agree that she should focus on her mission... But Kumud is intentionally being made to scale grand heights of promises, of convictions... We know it will all be for naught. But the thing is Hgg bhai, there is no justifiable reason for the stakes to go so high now. For Pramad to be imposed as 'Kanha'. You would expect viewers to react to that, in all fairness.

So why the angst now?
Remember in the story...kumud has no inkling of what kalika / pramad are plotting...or that pramad has not changed...or that pramad has asked naveen to find out about saras...

Pramad may be not, granted. But Kalika. Kumud has clashed swords with Kalika often for her to be wary now. Downrights threats have been issued. Kamarbandh has been pointed out as hers.. Still, either the 'naivety or arrogance' displayed has remained steadfast. A little bit wariness would not go amiss. Same in the case of Navin. Both are seen to be playing into Kalika's hands. Forget being burned twice, these two have been burned by Kalika again and again but they still seem to dismiss. It does not ring true.

Why do we feel she is going overboard?
She's still trying to make the marriage work...same as before

Because Kumud is going overboard, Hgg bhai. The core mission might not have changed but the factors surrounding, underlying and opposing them, have. It's only natural that Kumud's aspirations should evolve with them. Remove the blinkers, have a look around, then adjust your expectations for your mission. SD has very lofty ideals, and that is all Kumud seems to want to listen to. It has been presented as unrealistic Bhai, I stand firm on that.

And yet..Mr. Ehsaas...

What I liked yesterday is her shock that Mr. Ehsaas is not dead and which was portrayed quite effectively yesterday...kumud pleading to saras was because of 2 things
(i) she can't bear to see him physically hurt
(ii) she realizes that Mr. Ehsaas was not dead at all...the scen when she's washing her hands...so as long as saras is around she will continue to orbit him and him only...she wants him to leave more for her own self-control than his!...look how easily she calls him saras now...fully submerged in her Ehsaas...

Her own battle has just started...between her mind and heart!

Fully concur. In fact Saras has taken a step back from "ehsaas" today while Kumud has marked an impactful return to it. For Saras it is going to be latent. Kumud's ehsaas will be her forefront.

Isn't that what the story should be? ...the bond has been forged between these two...unbreakable and unshakeable...(Pramad realizes this subconsciously...remember his statement which went on thelines of "how come both are so unflappable?")

...so come what may, whether they are together or miles apart, married to each other or to others...they have their own private space which is only for these two...no one can enter it...and this bond & their own private space will pull them through...I had said something to this effect at the start of the serial a long time ago on CB...

2) Similarly case applies to kusum...yeah she's a bit slow...but from her perspective all she knows is that pramad drinks everyday, has an affair with kalika...she doesn't know the maniac person pramad is...kumud has never told him that..

So wouldn't she think that maybe there's a chance for Pramad & Kumud?

Yes, but to equate pyar as jealousy? Again Hgg bhai... "Ivy" recedes and my off-line self intercedes... The message sent out was wrong. Kusum's logic was wrong. Kusum herself was wrong at that point. She would think, first and foremost of the desire to save her sister from Saras' clutches. She would and I for one, am not giving her words much importance. Kusum is only being indulged by Saras.

I would like to quote smrth's way here..made most emphatically during VC behavior discussions...Are we as viewers who have a 360 degree perspective and our own set of expectations doing injustice to the way the characters are behaving?

There have been some leaps recently that cannot be accounted for or explained away. If it is in service of a greater design, all the more good. But till we reach there, on an epi-to-epi basis Hgg bhai, reactions will "see-saw" 😳

Bottomline...Both kumud & kusum have incomplete information...and behaving just as they should given the context and their own characters...

Let's see if Kumud gets to know Pramad is out to hunt Saraswatichandra 😊

Let's blame the CVs tomorrow if and when we see a Pramad-Kumud or Saras-Kusum track...

But as of today, I feel the markers indicate an alignment with the original story...

Maybe so, Hgg bhai, but there is no obligation on part of the new PH to follow 'source'... In fact, reading their statement, audience expectation is promised to be met and exceeded. So would the same frameworks of SLB day's still suffice in this new era for SC?
