arshi...
on the dot as usual...perfect song reflecting the sentiment for the epi...
1) And well we are off the treadmill and have boarded the train which is leaving the station for the next leg of the journey. Finally!!
I actually went back and referred Ivy's post in the last CB...it was so prescient...
Take a bow Ivy! Most of the below flows from the understanding of your last post. 👏
2) Kumud has regressed in a submissive Beta state and her instinct is to remain in that because:
- she has no control in the new environment and everything has slipped away.
- she's at the total mercy of every-one and everything in this new world.
- she's broken because her true love deserted her. So why even bother to live let alone fight.
- she's like a zombie ...a living dead.
- the trauma of this fall into the abyss has almost entirely erased her old identity
But even in this abyss she's still fighting.
The paradoxial problem though is that the ONLY REMAINING vestige of her old identity ... of the old kumud she knew she used to be ...in her present environment ...is her marriage to Pramad... Take this out and poof! ...there is no old kumud...The End.
Consequently, chained into a cage, deep down in the abyss...she is holding on to this shred of her old identity...and defending it to the extreme...
The moment she even admits that there is something wrong about the whole personal relationship with Pramad and / or her marriage...its all over for her..she won't exist as the kumud she knew she used to be...
So the irony is that a previously strong kumud has become a subservient kumud in order for the strong kumud to survive!
Loved the depiction of this irony in the double role scene!!
3) Saras is now bathed in the light of enlightenment (Finally!!!).
- He's realized that his need for an apology is too trivial a need. There are significantly huge stakes in play now.
- The past cannot be changed and in the present the kumud he loved and still loves is all but lost.
- Even kumud does not realize how far gone she is.
- If he does not intervene there will be no kumud that he loved in the future.
- Therefore to ATONE for his mistake, the LEAST he can do is unshackle kumud and bring her back from her abyss.
- He will have to push the envelope.
- So he's now an Alpha because he now has a purpose.
4) And what an EXACT role reversal...
- first saras did not know the why, what, how, when he was broken...and now kumud is the same.
- saras fought tooth and nail to remain in his abyss...and now kumud is doing the same.
- earlier kumud was aggressive and pushing saras up through the steps of the ladder out of the abyss BUT which had the potential to create far more irreversible damage...steps which often bordered on being utterly reckless...and now saras has started on that path!
- when kumud was pushing saras and saras was pushing back he still followed kumud anyway because of Mr. Ehsaas which he could not define at that time ...but which caused an implicit faith in kumud...I am sure we will see this same effect when kumud starts coming up..e.g. After all this the fabulously powerful 'Tumhe Meri Kasam' ...Mr. Ehsaas is still around though now kumud can't define it under the new circumstances.
- kumud cared a damn what others thought, what is right, samaj kya kahega etc. etc...saras is doing the same..
- kumud BROKE all the rules / asks / requests SET by saras when she single-handedly went to war for his soul...now saras is doing the same...
So I don't think it was thanda at all...in fact red hot for me as the pieces came together...
😊
Edit:
@smrth-
your question on locus standi of saras hopefully answered today.
Believe its a combo of above points and an emotion / rationale level higher than marriage, ex-lover, current lover etc. >>>> Duty.
